If I Score Higher On The College Placement Test

Retaking a college placement test?

I'm transferring to another college and I want to retake the chemistry test at my new college. I wanted to know if I scored lower on my chemistry placement, but scored higher on the test at my last college will they just keep me at the higher score I took at my last college?

Thanks in advance

College placement test?

the test is just assessing what math class you should be placed in. It's not giving you a grade or telling you how smart you are. I worked really hard on my math placement test when I was entering college and I wish I hadn't. The math class that I got in to was WAY TOO HARD for me and I struggled (went to office hours, went to study tables, studied with friends) to barely get a B-. If I were you, take an easier math class so that you can work your way up while also maintaining a good G.P.A. Also, if you are going to a 4-year college, you can always take other math classess at a community or junior college.
Good luck and have fun!

Cheating on a college placement test?

Here's the deal: I am terrible at math and six months ago when I took the placement test at my community college I scored pretty low and have to take two developmental classes that don't even go towards my GPA before I can take the graded requirement. Now that six months have passed I can retake that placement and with a high enough score I can get into my last math requirement for the Fall semester. That will save me much time and money.

But I want to be certain that "I" pass it.

This dude Pete at the cigar shop I hang out on is like a human encyclopedia when it comes to all things science and math. He'll go in pretending to be me to take the test, and I'll equip him with my student ID, and my social and placement test fee. He's agreed to do it in echange for a few cigars.Last time I was there, I did not have to show ID, I just states my SS and student ID number and took the test.

I'll hit the books when it starts, I just want to get ahead now.

Could we get away with this?

I scored low on my junior college placement test?

Well, you have two choices. You can either take the class for which you were placed or you can retake the placement test. Since PCC has a reputation for "breeding" USC transfers, your academic adviser won't likely let you take the higher course without an appropriate placement score. In my experience, students are usually appropriately placed by the placement tests and students who try to circumvent the placement results usually end up failing or withdrawing from the higher course (and subsequent courses). Besides, would you rather take the appropriate class and work your way to the class you need or spend the same amount of time (and money) taking the same class multiple times?

The amount of time it takes to complete your math requirement depends on your major and the school to which you plan to transfer. If you are an Engineering or Math major, then you will be expected to complete Linear Algebra before transferring. Otherwise, you will need a lower level math class. For some majors (e.g the social sciences and humanities), you won't need to complete your math requirement before you transfer.

Community college placement test?

Can I tell you something about community college placement tests? EVERYBODY is placed in college algebra and lower classes. I think it's rigged to be honest. Think about it: Most people in cc don't need higher math classes. It keeps them from having to have a teacher around to teach a higher level math class for like, 2 or 3 people if they can just get everybody to take algebra and below. That's my theory at least.

If the class is full either wait for it to open (people do usually drop for various reasons on or near the first day) or ask them if you can test out of the math. Testing out is different than the placement tests. At my cc testing out was like, $10 per credit hour. Usually the teacher will give you a packet to look over and schedule a time for you to take it. I tested out of several classes because I was sick of being there and just wanted out lol.

Doing bad on college placement test?

The reason why people go to college is to learn by challenging themselves. If they go to college just so they can slack off, then they are just wasting their time.

Take the placement exams honestly and get into the classes that are at the right level for you. Don't cheat yourself out of a good education if you or you parents are paying for it. Lots of students are in a lot of financial trouble after getting out of college and it's not worth doing years worth of work to pay for something that they didn't learn from.

Don't worry about adjusting to college life. It is a really easy transition because it'll be easy to make friends with the people in your classes/dorm and they will all be willing to help you out and other freshmen will be adjusting to college life with you.

How can i get around a community college placement test?

ok first dont stress it too much alot of people do horrible on that placement test.. it's simply MATH- it doesnt stick in the memory long = ) There isnt a way to get around it. Besides if you were to go to a 4 yr college u still have to take a placement test.

the Math 15 class might not be worth ne credits but you will need it to continue on.. sorry to tell ya... Im not sure what math 15 is where you live but i too failed the math portion of the test.. i had to take1 algebra class for no "real" credits and then move on naturally tothe college algebra class... i took it in the summer that way i didnt have todo math all semester... so try to see if that is an option and have your friends help u pass.... its soo worth it...

Also you said your going to community college to save money and then trandfer to a 4 yr. Why dont u do your two years at commmunity get your AS or AA degree and then take that to your college of choice.... it's be wiser since you will be entering a 4 yr college with ur degree and will except it fully and make u a junior.. if you transfer midway through there is a great chance the 4 yr school will not exceot some of your credits from community college making you take more classes... which if your looking to save money.. wont be the best decision...

GOODLUCK

Suffolk County Communty College Placement Test?

So I originally want to ncc (nassau community college). I took the placement test and everything. Now I decided to go to SCCC (suffolk county community college) and get my vet tech license. I checked on the sccc website and all my non vet courses ( basic eng, math, social sciences), all transfer. Do I still need to take the placement test at sccc?
