In Germany in the 80's two DJ's who had the look and could dance, but not sing or really speak any english approaced Frank Farian who is a major record producer. Frank Farian saw the potential to market their image and use the singing talents of a bunch of backround singers to do the vocals and create a super group. Milli Vanilli was found out to be lip syncing (the fact they could barely speak english was a good clue) and the public turned on them. They released one album called "Rob and Fab" (their names were Rob Pilatus and Fabrice "Fab" Morvan) which sold just a few thousand copies. In 1998 Rob died of a drug overdose in Germany where he grew up after his American father put him up for adoption as a child. Fab continues to entertain with his former radio show and his current solo singing.
