Is it ok to have sex at a hospital if you are admitted for a long time?

I have been in the hospital for a week now and have to be here at least 4 more weeks until my baby is born at 34 weeks because I have preeclampsia very early. My husband comes and spends the night but I am not sure if it is ok to have sex here and I'm not going to ask the nurse cuz that's just awkward. I don't think I can go 4 more weeks till the baby is born and then 6 weeks after he's born and I don't think my husband can either. Would you feel ok having sex at the hospital?

Which will be the article before "he was admitted — hospital"?

First, the verb admit needs a preposition in this structure and the usual choice is to, so let's stick that in.Then there are in fact three choices for articles:to hospital (no article)This lets you know what kind of institution he went to and that the expectation was he would end up in some hospital or not admitted anywhere.to a hospitalThis lets you know that he was admitted to a hospital versus some other kind of institution such as a clinic, with the expectation he was going to be admitted somewhere.to the hospitalThis lets you know that he was admitted to the hospital that both of you expected would be his destination, this particular hospital, not the other hospital or other kind of institution, like a clinic. However, this can also have the same meaning as number 1, particularly when the admission was unexpected, as in: What do you mean, he was admitted to the hospital? Here are two other articles that explore the same topic.Mark Jones's answer to Which of the sentences given is correct, ‘He works at a university.’ and ‘He works at the university.’?Mark Jones's answer to Is there any difference between "in hospital" and "in the hospital"? How do you get admitted to the psych ward at the hospital?

I've been suffering from some of the worst anxiety I've ever had for several months now. I get anxiety attacks every day which have made going out in public a real chore. I've been to the doctor and was prescribed Xanax and Lexapro, but had bad reactions to both. Recently I've become what they call "agoraphobic" in that I get panic attacks when I leave my home, so I don't go out anymore unless it is unavoidable. I have no appetite and eat only because I have to as well. I haven't worked in 2 months and feel as if I am losing my mind. This past week I have had thoughts of suicide. Not constantly, but off and on throughout the day, usually at night when I am alone. I know my sister once got admitted to the psych ward for similar problems a few years ago and she got better. My question is, would this be enough to admit me to the psych ward? I am desperate for help. The meds haven't helped and my doctor doesn't seem to care. Can I just go there and explain what's wrong with me and have them admit me, or is there some prerequisite I don't meet? As much as I hate the idea of being in a hospital, I feel that only there will I get the treatment I need because if I have to spend one more night shut in my house with all this anxiety, I fear what I might do.

Can hospitals tell you if someone was admitted?

The default answer is no, a hospital will and should not acknowledge anyone’s presence as a patient without specific authorization from the patient or their power of attorney. This is part of HIPAA. It’s no one’s business but yours that you’re in the hospital. Most people prefer to keep this most personal information to themselves.People are also being tracked by dangerous enemies, various government agencies, some OK, some not so well meaning. In addition to respecting your basic privacy, your location in most cases would be available to anyone. There are on few occasions, exceptions to this rule, especially for patients guilty but not jailed on criminal charges. These constitute very few patients in a typical hospital.

How do I fake being sick, and get admitted in a hospital for two to three days?

There are many ways you can fake being sick, but it’s not that easy to get admitted in the hospital. If you go to your doctor and they determine you are sick enough to be admitted, then, you’re in. However, most people start at the Emergency Department, where the doctors and staff have “seen it all” and can quickly figure out motives for being there. Depending on your insurance, you could end up footing part or all of the bill if they determine it was not an emergency or you were faking it.Let’s say you pull off the caper and become an inpatient. Why would you do that? Do you know that the place is for sick people that really and truly need care? Do you know you are very likely to end up being sicker just from being there with sick people and germs? What if you end up with a procedure or surgery that you never needed, which has its own consequences? Are you trying to escape something? If so, it will likely still be there when you get out, plus you’ll have a co-pay or deductible to pay. That’s not fun.Healthcare is stressful enough for the dedicated caregivers that are there to serve those who need their services, 24/7, 365. They deserve respect of the public to go to hospitals only when needed. That’s not to say you should avoid seeking care for emergencies and urgent needs. But, you should not abuse the ability to get healthcare, just to take a hospital vacation. If you truly want to fake illness, I’d suggest you seek mental health care instead. There must be some reason that would cause you to feel this way, so please take care of those issues. And, feel better soon.

Have you ever been admitted to a psychiatric hospital? If so, did you find it to be helpful in any way?

Hi Genevieve. No, I haven't. I work as a mental health professional and have helped admit a lot of people to psychiatric hospitals. The majority of people I work with have experienced inpatient treatment at some stage and may do so again due to the nature of their illnesses, which follow a relapsing-remitting pattern. My sense is that those who find it actively helpful in some way usually agree or come to agree with their mental health team that there is/was no other option to keep them safe. This is not to say that being kept safe is always or often a pleasant experience. The distress of the illness itself is combined with being placed in (and often unable to leave) an underfunded shabby environment with other equally ill and distressed people, looked after by overstretched, underpaid staff. It is a very difficult experience for many people. But without basic safety we have nothing and severe episodes of mental illness can and do threaten people's basic safety in the most profound manner.

How do I get admitted to the psychiatric ward of the hospital?

Basically you need to tell the truth. If you're wanting to get admitted to the psychiatric ward of the hospital apparently something is wrong in some way shape form or fashion. whether it be a true emergency that consists of suicidal thoughts or otherwise it is important to get the help that you need when you need it and you don't prolong going or getting help because if you do you will just make your life more difficult and miserable and unbearable as well as it will make it difficult and hard for the others around you that love you. Furthermore if you are experiencing suicidal or homicidal thoughts or tendencies in any way you should go to the emergency room and tell them right away and at which time you will be admitted into the psychiatric ward of the hospital generally right away for at least 72 hours. There will be doctors nurses psychologist and maybe a few other different people that you will end up talking to but I promise you your life is worth it and the time you take to be honest and help yourself will be worth it not only to yourself but to your family, friends, parents, and kids as well.
