Igcse History Paper 4 How To Write Answers

Answering History questions?

Studying History and in particular when it comes to writing essays for exams you are asked to CHOOSE your side of the argument and what you believe in. For instance if you thought the U.S retreat from Vietnam was the cause of both internal and external pressure (the war itself and public opinion) then you would state this in your opening paragraph.

Yes, you should link events together, it provides more information and shows you have a broader knowledge of the subject. IT IS OKAY to use questions.

It is up to you, and your personal opinion on the subject when it comes to answering history questions, but if you have a textbook you should use that as a guide. Some people argue Apartheid in South Africa (a very cruel event) declined due to only international pressure and not the riots, rebellion and planned sabotage occurring in South Africa itself.

So in answer to your question you should evaluate whether you think public opinion caused the withdrawal due to the families who are discontent and worried about their fathers/husbands or if the public opinion caused withdrawal due to the failure the military was experiencing with its operations. Two choices. You need to choose a path yourself and stick to it, there is no real right or wrong answer, historians are arguing about events regularly because they have different points of view.

Edit: I know why Apartheid declined rofl, I've studied it extensively and in much more thorough detail than you expressed, therefore your opinions are uneeeded. You missed key points and are clearly one-sided, failing to accept the true and more significant aspects, these being the oppression and enslavement of the blacks. It is also interesting to finally find your nationality, you can really critisize Australians of their "wrongs" while your savage country engaged in the hatred and killing of the Africans there. Just a bit hypocritical? Mind your own business and grow up. You're more irritating than interesting or factual when it comes to providing information.

History GCSE, ''What can you learn from the source?''?

The source is a piece of information, it can be a piece of text or an image.
When this question is asked you need to analyse the source, tell them what you can see about it.

How do I revise for iGCSEs other than past papers?

Use this cool website I found 3 months ago: IGCSE Pro - The Ultimate IGCSE Revision Website :). It is the best!

Where can I get IGCSE solved past papers?

Well, there is no need for the solved past papers. You have the marking scheme, which contains the answers to each question and you have the examiner report, which basically has the examiners’ comments on every single question in the past papers. You can use both to create the ultimate weapon (know what I mean). To get the A* in any subject. Here is a link for every subject in IGCSE, with the files that have “ms” in them as “marking scheme” and the “er” as “examiner reports”Xtreme Papers | Advancing knowledge is in our DNAKind wishes for the best, guys! ^^

How do I get A in IGCSE chemistry (CIE)?

IGCSE Chemistry is very objective and application-oriented. Before implementing any general examination tips, make sure you get your concepts right. The best way to check this, is by studying from your Cambridge endorsed textbook and keeping a tab on the understandings stated in the IGCSE Chemistry Study Guide (this guide is probably your bible). I personally recommend the Nelson Thornes Chemistry Textbook for IGCSE. It is extremely concise and tailored perfectly for the course. For the MCQ paper, solve at least the last 10 years’ questions and once you get a hang of it, you’ll realise that the question pattern is repetitive. For paper 3, you just need to get your time management right and an understanding of the mark schemes. Paper 6 will be easy as long as you are well versed with the qualitative analysis tables and you’ve done your lab practicals fine. However, do not just attempt to blindly solve past papers one after another. After every paper, look for your mistakes, study those specific concepts properly and only after that go for the next round of papers. If you actually stick to this, 6–8 papers will be more than enough to get you prepared. And yeah, aim for an A*. I’m sure you’ll get one!All the best :)

I have read the Igcse chemistry textbook many times. But whenever I solve past papers, I never score marks. How should I overcome this problem?

You are scoring so low because you are "reading" the textbook. This time, understand it. IG Chem is one of the easiest things you could do (I felt like that even when I was in IG) so the problem isn't the syllabus. I'm not saying you have a learning disability, all I'm saying is that you aren't letting the information absorb. The way I learned most of my IG syllabus was via videos by Khanacademy. I feel I understand best when I actually see something or even get a graphical representation of what was going on. Khanacademy really helped me because he draws everything and goes in depth most of the times. Another suggestion is to stop solving past papers without referring to the mark scheme. The MS will help you understand what you need to write and how you need to write it, and help you understand how to calculate a certain thing. I'd say do papers of two years (all variants) and you should have a decent idea of how to write the answer.According to me, the textbook was crap and didn't provide the necessary knowledge and understanding required to solve the paper. This is why I took all my past papers and sat with my teacher to solve them. If you ask teachers nicely and have a good reputation with them then they will surely help you. Also, remember, if you get 50-60%, you will be saved by grades because you will get your grades based on the weighted percentile.Best of luck!
