In Smallvile Why Does Lex Luthor

In Smallville, why is Lex Luthor bald?

in the first episode of smallville, lionel and lex are in smallville to buy the corn cannery and farm out from pete's parents. during this trip a meteor shower starts. this is the remains of krypton and the arrival of clark on earth. lex is out in the cornfields when this happens and a meteor crashes right next to him. the force of the impact throws him through the air and through the corn, when he is found later by lionel he is barely alive and bald. he recovers later but his hair never grows back as a result from the near contact with the kryptonite.

When does Lex Luthor turn evil in Smallville?

I think we can actually pin it down to one specific episode: Onyx.In Onyx, Lex splits into two different people, Good Lex and Evil Lex. When they recombine, he seems to be back to normal. But in every episode after that, he acts much more like a villain, all of a sudden. This is confirmed on the Smallville Wiki for the episode Onyx:"It could be argued that when the two halves of Lex were merged at the end, that his evil side remained dominant and thus this is the episode where Lex began to truly change from good to evil. Lex's smirk in the end when Lionel reveals he's cancelled the charity he was going to start could indicate this. In his remaining Season Four episodes, Lex is noticeably more unscrupulous than in the past, particularly in Ageless and Commencement. His friendship with Clark will come to a permanent end early in Season 5, and soon after he will deliberately torture Arthur Curry in Aqua, which would seem to go beyond the pale of any good justification he could come up with."This is both a satisfying explanation and a slightly disappointing one. On the one hand, we can pinpoint his exact moment of change, which is pretty cool from a writing standpoint. It's sharp, clean, and easy to spot once you know what to look for.On the other hand, it's a little disappointing because his moment of change comes not because of anything that happens to him on a character level. Rather, it happens because of an unfortunate experiment with kryptonite gone wrong.I think that's the reason why fans are eager to point to Lexmas as his turning point, since he actually gets to make a moral choice that determines his ultimate fate. But he was acting like a villain way before then, especially in the Season Four finale, Commencement. By that point, he's pretty much full-on Lex Luthor from the comics. After that, he spends more time pretending to be good in order to deceive people than genuinely being good.Lexmas is when he makes a choice to turn down the dark path. But his actual pivot point happens in Onyx. Which, in retrospect, is fitting, because it acts as the character's midpoint.Because Michael Rosenbaum only starred in the first seven seasons of Smallville, Season 4 was his midpoint. So we get to see three-and-a-half seasons of Lex as a good guy and three-and-a-half seasons of Lex as a bad guy, which gives his arc a nice bit of symmetry.

On Smallville, why does Lex Luthor and Clark Kent hate each other?

The relationships seems to slowly drift apart, starting in season 3.

Season three follows Clark's constant fight against the destiny that his biological father, Jor-El, has in-store for him, and his guilt over the price Jonathan paid to bring him back to Smallville. Lex deals with the psychological breakdown he had when stranded on a deserted island, while the conflict between him and his father comes to a final blow.

Episode 8 of season 3, I think was the beginning of the end.

Lex locates Morgan Edge and gets him to admit the he helped Lionel murder his parents. Before Lex can take it to the authorities, someone tries to kill him. Lex flees and asks Clark for help. Evidence begins to amount that suggests Lex has had a psychotic break. Lex watches Clark slam into Edge's car, after Clark pushes him out of harm's way. Lex's doctors arrive and take him to Belle Reve sanitarium.

Lex suspects Clark has powers, and with all of his issues with his dad and Clark hiding things, a combination of which seems to push Lex over to the "dark side".

Episode 2, of season 5 says
When he doesn't return, Jor-El strips Clark of his powers, making him human. Delighted to finally be "normal," Clark pursues a relationship with Lana without secrets. When Lana, Jonathan and Martha are taken hostage by three krypto-thugs, Clark must figure out how to save his family without his super powers. In the end, Clark learns that everything was orchestrated by Lex, in an effort to test Clark's abilities. Clark confronts Lex, thus ending their friendship.

This is where the friendship officially ends.

What powers does Lex Luthor have in Smallville?

I am guessing his body got enhanced Leukocytes that prevented (or maybe rapidly cured him) from natural ailments and diseases. Not poisons, or fatal wounds of course. This is based on 1 of the episodes where he asks Lionel if he ever got sick after the meteor shower. I doubt there are other instances of him having special abilities shown. Not counting the abilities he displayed when possessed by Zod or holding other artifacts.

What was the Lex Luthor character like in Smallville?

Thanks for A2A, I would love to answer this question to the best of my abilities. There’s an opposite to everything. Yin has Yang, Black has White, Day has Night and Clark Kent has Lex Luthor! In Smallville, the character of Lex Luthor is written in a manner which has never been touched on screen before in any of the movies. Very few people know that at one time, Lex and Clark were best of the friends. Its the obsession with the meteor rocks that led Lex to turn maniac in the later stages of the series. The character of Lex Luthor is played by Michael Rosenbaum which he has done with great finesse and conviction. There are times, when you would actually feel sorry for Lex as he is often seen to be at the receiving end of the ploy called Life. At one hand there is Clark whose parents are supportive enough to raise an alien child after shielding him from the world, on the other its Lional Luthor, who despite claiming to love his son sometimes gives in to the temptations of being the most powerful man in the world. The temptation, which later turns into Lex’s obsession is beautifully portrayed in the series and every vandetta is backed by l logic and incident. In short, the character of Lex Luthor is a treat to watch as its important to know the anti-thesis of every thesis, which in this case happens to be our famed boy from Smallville - Clark Kent.

When Did Lex Luthor Become Evil in Smallville?

Remember that episode where Lex was visited by his mom's ghost while in a coma and shown a vision of a future where he was happily married to Lana? This was an attempt by his mother's spirit to encourage Lex toward a brighter, happier path.

Well, at the end he makes a conscious decision to give in to his dark side and stop trying to be good.

Needless to say, mom's plan backfired big time. http://smallville.wikia.com/wiki/Lexmas

Edit: So you know, this was quite some time before Lionel was killed. Not long before he married Lana.

What season does Lex Luthor find out about Clark in Smallville?

Officially he learns in the season finale of season 7. He was always so close to finding out Clark’s secret but never could quite put his finger on it. I don’t want to give too many spoilers away. If you haven’t watched Smallville you are missing out! Michael Rosenbaum is, without question, the best lex Luther. Even if the story is manipulated to bring him in way too early in Clark’s life. You’ll find you have to weather through a pretty grisly Doomsday, Zod and Darksied in seasons 8, 9 & 10 because of the loss of Rosenbaum. Don’t get me wrong, the show is still worth watching, but they should have done whatever it took to keep Lex in the show even if it was only 6 or so episodes a season. Thankfullly the show hasn’t even started the Clark/Lois arc so that was enough to help right the ship. The best scene of the series, and there were SO MANY, was the one between Clark and Lex in the finale. I actually got chills, LOL.Watch it if you haven’t.

Is Lex Luthor from the TV series Smallville, a good guy or a bad guy?

I’ll start with an admission — I only watched maybe the first season and a half of Smallville. However, I have trustworthy sources to help me along.Simply put — Lex Luthor is a villain in Smallville. But he didn’t begin as a villain. He started out as a young man with a terrible upbringing trying to do the best he could with what he had. He was a genuinely nice person who desperately wanted friendship and belonging. As the show progressed, his insecurities and mistreatment by his father turned that desperation toxic, and he became jealous and possessive beyond all compassion. He went from nice guy side character to anti-villain to downright villain, albeit a lot more self aware than his comic incarnation (who at least in the 2000s/2010s is deluded about his motivations and sees himself as a hero.)So his character arc in Smallville is about his fall to villainy, and reading about it made me wish that I’d watched more of the show. Maybe I’ll pick it up some time.Smallville: LuthorCorp / Characters - TV Tropes was my primary source here. Thanks for the A2A!
