In What Areas Do Women And Men Differ Dramatically

Women: Generally, in what areas do you distrust men?

I still have a hard time containing myself in a crowded room full of strangers. I maintain a very large personal space, and if someone approaches me from behind, I get very nervous. It is an aftershock of rape... So, I surround myself with male friends, who I trust completely, because they had never disappointed me.

In my personal life I had never had a problem with infidelity. The reason could be that I had always made sure that we are friends, before we had an intimate relationship. Men value their friendships much more than any sexual thrill of the moment. It also could of been, that I was lucky enough not to get involved with a cheating dog of a man. I have no idea.
However, you are a gorgeous and a brilliant lady, so it was not your fault. Your ex must of felt like he was not man enough for you, that is why he cheated. Use your past experience as a lesson, and learn from it. Do not expect infidelity, because it is not something every married lady has to experience. World is full of loyal and wonderful single men. You deserve man like that, so do not settle for anything less. Good luck sweetheart!

How do women and men differ in regard to thier sexual intimacy and the phenomenon of "friends with benefits?'

Honestly...less and less. I would say that women are more comfortable with their sexuality than they ever have been, and that lends itself to more FWB action. I still think women are more likely to do FWB stuff with a person that they would enter a relationship with, while men are less likely to be interested in a relationship

What areas of LIFE do women excel in over men?

Biologically, there is a clear superiority of women over men:
• Women live longer by at least seven years! In the animal kingdom, the female also lives longer than the male.
• Women are more resistant to infectious agents and even cancer!
• Women work longer hours during their lifetime than men. Women have less leisure time. • The infant mortality rate is less for girls than boys.
• In industrialized countries the greater longevity of women is an undisputed fact.
• Women are known to take better care of themselves, both physically and mentally.
• At any age, men are three times more likely to die of accidents, violence and cardiovascular diseases.
• Malignant cancer related to smoking and alcoholism occur more frequently in men.
• Women resist extreme cold longer than men, because they have a deeper insulating layer of fat under their skin.
• Hemophilia, the hereditary disease which prevents blood from clotting, affects males primarily.
• Men are more subject to color blindness, stuttering and learning disabilities.
• Women have better manual dexterity enabling them to do work requiring finer movements.
• Women are wealthier than men. The U.S. Treasury Department informs us that women die richer by outliving spouses and inheriting everything. • Girls mature, on the average, three years earlier than boys.

Are women's brains fundamentally different from men's?

There are several anatomical differences in the brains of men and women, which lead to differences in their behaviours. In terms of neural circuitry, women have more connections between left and right halves of the brain. Meaning: Since left brain is associated with intuition whereas right brain with logic and reasoning, women are more likely to interlink knowledge from different disciplines to deduce things. On the other hand, men have more connections between brain areas of motor and spatial skills. Meaning: They have better hand-eye coordination and spatial intelligence. In women, there is more wiring in region associated with social cognition. Meaning: It makes them more emphatic and comfortable in navigating complex social situations.Women have a bigger hippocampus and more neural density in this region. Meaning: It is the region critical for memory and learning. Women retain stronger and more vivid memories of emotional events than men do.Men not only have fewer verbal centres but also less connections between memory and these word centres, whereas women have more verbal centres. Meaning: Women are more interested and comfortable in using various words to convey their feelings, whereas men are relatively hesitant.Male brains utilise nearly seven times more grey matter while female brains utilise nearly ten times more white matter. Meaning: Men work better in task focused projects whereas women are better multi-taskers.The male brain is typically about ten percent larger than the female brain. Meaning: This does not amount to any significant difference in the behaviour or capabilities of any of them. There are several neurochemical differences as well, for example levels of serotonin, μ-opioids, vasopressin etc. in the two sexes. Meaning: Each chemical results in difference in behavioural traits.Reasons for the differences in the brains of the two sexes:One reason is that in general, brain regions that differ in size between men and women such as the hippocampus and amygdala tend to contain especially high concentrations of receptors for sex hormones.References-https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc...Are Male and Female Brains Different?Brain Differences Between GendersHow men's and women's brains are differentEdit 1: These differences do NOT make any gender’s brain better than the other. It just makes them somewhat different. Also, I personally believe that exceptions exist in substantial numbers.

Research. Do men speak a different language than women?

less and less so, allegedly according to anecdotes. But as Psychology suggests, from infanthood genderised communication differences are reproduced from the models parents and others give us.

Well, I think talking only makes a lot of sense as glimpsed through conversation: so look at gender differences and speech acts. Look at gender and speech acts on a proper reseachdatabase, or even JSTOR if theat's all your Uni offers like my new one- and you will find some clues that may match..

I believe you will find that relative closeness of the two (or ability to find common ground is as important as any difference on the criteria you mention.in terms of comms ( estimate baserd frm my Psych notes)

However men traditionally talk in different ways, connected to dominance. They overlap and talk over in ways women would have been thought rude to reproduce a generation ago.

There are other well-known differences in speech acts, such as the immense difference between the near-conversational style seen in groups of up to 5 and the turn-taking, meeting style of larger groups.

What's the difference between men's and women's shoes?

While there are plenty of unisex styles of footwear that both men and women can don, there are key differences between men’s and women’s shoes.Overall appearanceMen’s shoes are wider than women’s shoes to take into account the fact that their feet are generally wider than women’s feet.Women’s shoes are often thin and narrow. They also have the appearance of being more delicate than men’s shoes.Variation of style and designCompared to women’s shoes, men’s shoes have limited styles and designs.Standard size and widthMen’s shoes are bigger than women’s shoes. Generally, the size difference is often 1.5 inch and 2 widths broader than women’s shoes. This means that a size 9 in men’s shoes will be a size 10.5 in women’s shoes.Men’s shoes have a standard size of D while women’s shoes have a standard size of B.Common typesOxford, Monk-straps, derby, and slip-ons are the common types of men’s shoes.Oxfords are shoes that have a “closed lacing” or a vamp with a V-shaped slit where the laces are fastened to.Monk-straps are shoes that fasten with a buckle and strap.Derby shoes have “open lacing,” which means the laces are independently fastened to the vamp.Slip-ons, such as loafers, contain no fastenings or lacings.Women’s shoes come in a wide variety of styles, but the most common types are high heels, ballet flats, sling backs, mules, and pumps. As the name suggests, high heels are shoes that lift the heels. Shoes that are at least 2 inches above the toes are considered high-heeled footwear. This type of shoes are often worn during social outings or more formal occasions.Ballet flats are footwear with very low heel so the wearer’s feet are almost completely parallel to the ground. This type of shoes also typically have a relatively short vamp so ballet flats are ideal for warm weather or when the wearer needs to be on their feet for long periods of time.Sling backs are shoes that are attached to the feet through straps behind the heel instead of fastenings that go over the foot.Mules are footwear that are backless or have no fitting around the heel.Pumps, also known as “court shoes,” are slip-on shoes that are high-heeled.Decorative additionsMen’s shoes are often decorated with a cap, an extra leather or material that caps the toe, or brogues or wing-tips, a perforated panel that extends toward either side of the shoe. There are a wide variety of options when it comes to decorative additions to women’s shoes including fabrics, gems, metals, feather, and so on.

What are the main differences between prisons for men and women?

It's a lot less likely to get raped in a women's prison, but it does happen. In women's prisons, girls shave their heads to look like a dude. In men's they grow it to look like a woman. If a man gets a sex change he has to go to  a women's prison, I'm not sure if the same goes for a woman who gets one.Men's prison is A LOT more political. I'm not talking about the presidential campaign, I'm talking prison politics.Snitches get stitchesDon't bring the cops in the cell/unit because you're not following the rules. (Don't get the room searched)PAY YOUR DEBTS Respect your eldersDon't take anything from anybody, if it's free now it won't be free later.Don't tell people your outdateDon't disrespect the lifers.Break bread (don't be stingy with your food. But don't give it all away either) Thats in both men and women's prisons. In men's prisons there's a different hierarchy. They have entire protective custody prisons for people who are gay, exgang members, rapists, baby killers, pedophiles, basically all the things that will get you jumped in prison for. There are no protective custody prisons for women, in fact there were two prisons where I was and they shut one down to turn it into a men's facility. Then the state passed prop 48, and had to send an enormous amount of people home early. Anyway, in men's prisons men are more able to prostitute. Guys will sell blow jobs for however much money. In women's they all are gold diggers, but they give it up for free. No one pays for sex in women's prisons.  So basically, men's prison can be a whole lot tougher. That's what the other women have told me, and men I know that have been locked up. You still fight in women's prisons but not like in men's. In jail if another man is protective custody they jump him, if it's another woman they give you nasty looks.

How exactly are women "more empathetic" than men?

Studies tend to show this, but I believe it's largely a socialized behavior. I'm not going to look up the study (you could look up stacks of them, if you were really interested, but know that it's boring and hard, like any -real- research that feminists and psychologists do) but what really stuck with me from one was that, once male participants were offered MONEY if they were able to accurately read people's emotions and thoughts, the male participants' empathetic abilities rose dramatically, though not quite to the level of the female participants. Before, when the same men weren't offered monetary compensation for correct answers, their scores were abysmal compared to the women's.

If you want specifics ... What is usually shown is that women are usually better able to read people's emotions, predict their motives, and predict what they are going to do next. Women are more likely to try to understand how other people feel, and more likely to react adversely to seeing people in pain.

How does Hillary Clinton look different in this picture than the men around her, while watching even Bin Laden be killed?

Simply put, women are more likely to put themselves in someone else's shoes.

Differences in crime between male and female?

No, because men, due to the high rates of testosterone in their body chemistry, will always be more aggressive and violent and reactive with less impulse control than women. It's funny, but when men gripe about a woman's pre-menstrual "moods" when she is apt to be grouchy or angry, that is the time of the month when her estrogen levels drop and the small amount of testosterone in her own body becomes more dominant (estrogen inhibits the influence of testosterone.) So she is reacting more like a man normally does during that pre-period time. Men who have had to take supplemental testosterone due to hormonal problems have often reported growing feelings of energy, aggression, argumentativeness and anger while getting the extra dosage. Culture also cultivates these differences by encouraging young men to express their aggression in sports and warfare, whereas girls and women and conditioned to avoid conflict and to suppress aggressiveness. Unless there is a massive change in the hormone levels of most of the population, men will remain the dangerous and destructive gender overall.
