Why is this generation so unwilling to work at love?
I hear people saying all the time "live life to the fullest" that is fair but I also hear girls(and guys) saying that they think if the initial spark isn't there then it isn't going to work out. it seems like people think love is some magical force that only works with a select few people and anything less than perfect isn't love. Well I know by experience that love isn't always some instant snap. My dad had to ask my mom out 13 times before she said yes but you know what they are happily married and in love for over 20 years easy. and I am the living proof that it can work out even if it doesn't right away. yet I see so many people saying that "if you are unhappy, move on" I get f it's in the long run but bailing just as soon as something goes off is only going to lead to unhappieness. and these ridiculous standards romantics are placing on people and love in general is silly. I'm only 18 and I can tell you from fact that most of the happy couples I've seen have told me love can be hard work sometimes but they also tell me it's always worth it. I just don't get why people these days give up so easy and aren't willing to work for it.
Why are most filipinos maids?
I live in Vancouver and there are tons of Filipino families as well as Chinese, Korean and Indian immigrant families. However, there is something really significant I've noticed. Most female Filipino immigrants are maids, or at best nurses. Their children almost never go to university. What is with the sense of servitude that they have? Don't they aspire to be something more? A lot of Chinese immigrants come here with almost no money but they work hard to their way up and eventually own a home and their children go onto universities. I almost never see this with Filipinos. And in other countries, most of them work as maids as well. Of course I know there are Filipinos doctors, lawyers, etc. But the numbers are very low.
