Is the Rockford Fosgate T1500.1bd amp a good choice to power 2 12" kicker cvx 750 RMS 4 ohm subs?

I have a Rockford fosgate T1500.1bd and on the birth sheet it says that it's 1904 @ 1 ohm. I have 2 12" kicker cvx 750 watts RMS 4 ohm subs and I want to wire them to 1 ohm. My actual question is will it hurt my subs if I overpower them the extra 400 watts?

Kicker vs Rockford fosgate?

Actually, a square sub has more cone area than an average round one. I have 1 12 in my single cab f150 with a ported box and i have only seen people with 1 or 2 15's beat me. If i was you i would do 2 12 inch L7's on 1500 rms in a big ported box. Kicker is by far the way to go if you want somethin worth your money. I used to have fosgate and yeah its nice but kicker just produces more Bump. One of the car audio guys i know actually said he's never seen just one 12 hit as hard as mine does! Lol people think i have a fifteen or 2 12's in my truck.

What amp for 2 KICKER S12L7-4 12" L7 SOLO-BARIC'S (4-ohm) ?

On my opinion, I would choose a mono-block amp. I find them more simple than bridging a 2 channel amp.

Now those subs are 750watts RMS each. You shouldn't pay any attention to the MAX wattage. It will only confuse you and is completely useless in most cases.

Together the subs will need 1500watts RMS to bump at their best. I would recommend pushing the full 1500watts.

Now the next thing you need to look at is the "voice coils". What is the impedence(ohms) and how many there are?
Those subs have 2(dual) voice coils, and are 4 ohms.
That means you can wire them in either of these ways.
For a 4 ohm load:

For a 1 ohm load:
http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard/2_4ohmDVC_1ohm.gif

Now this is were the "ohms" come in for the amp.
If you choose to wire them into a 1 ohm load, than you will need to find an amp that rates at...
1500 watts RMS x1 @ 1 ohm

if you choose to wire them into a 4 ohm load, than you will need to find an amp that rates at...
1500 watts RMS x1 @ 4 ohms

The different impedences(ohms) and number of voice coils on subs are only used for getting different ohm loads from the amp. They do not affect the performance of the subs.

The ohms on the amp are different levels of resistance. The higher the ohms are the less power you send out, but theres less distortion, less heat, and longer amp life.

I hope this helps you understand everything better.

Help with amp settings for a kicker 12 L7?

The gain (level) is the most important.

The purpose of the gain is to match the signal volts RMS coming from the source (CD player, etc.) to the input of the amp for correct power matching and to prevent clipping (damage by over powering).

Here is a guide that will help you set the gain correctly http://www.box.net/shared/uchv4dbk88

You'll need a multi-meter (AC voltmeter, $15 from Radio$hack), Microsoft Excel and a way to burn an audio CD from an MP3 (test tone included).

If you don't have Excel, You can downlaod OpenOffice by Java (SunMicro Systems) for free to read spweadsheets (and you thought spreadsheets were for business) - http://download.openoffice.org/index.html

Set the LPF to just below the highest range of the frequency response of the subs. Meaning if the frequency response of the sub is 20-200Hz, set the LPF to about 180Hz

OR

set the LPF to where the other speakers start off. example, if the speakers start at 150Hz, set the LPF to about 160Hz. This overlap (or crossover - where the term comes from) is the ideal setting.

Set the subsonic (infrasonic) filter to about the same as the lowest setting in the range of the frequency repsonse of the subs. Meaning about 20Hz if that's the lowest in the range (20 -200Hz as above, if applicable).

Don't set the Bass Boost above +2dB (if applicable).

Set the phase to 0 (if applicable).

Will one Hifonics Brutus BRZ1200.1D amp support 2 12' kicker L5 dual 4 ohm subs?

Well it will be a good match, ONLY if you wire the subs to a total of 1 ohm impedance.

But if you want to try out another amps, look for some Rockford Fosgates, or Alpines. They are really reliable and also good on budget.

These will be good for your subs:
Rockford Fosgate t1500-bdCP
Alpine MRP-M1000
Alpine PDX-M12

Best subs for my Rockford Fosgate T1500-1bd? Is the amp any good?

I'm desperate to find some subwoofers to go with my T1500-1bd. I currently have 3 12 inch Rockford P3's but its takin up too much space. I want either 2 12's or 2 15's. It's goin in a Dodge Magnum. I would take any sub into consideration. Can you please suggest a box too. I want something hitting harder than those P3's. I have Vids On You Tube.http://www.youtube.com/user/trillwill07. If your final impedance on the enclosure is 2ohms then I would suggest the Kicker ZX1500.1 monoblock. Here's one for a great price.http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/Shop/...
Peace.
