Is acrylic paint in any way flammable?

In its liquid form, it is not flammable, as the solvent is (usually) water.

After it has dried though it is a different matter - acrylic is a plastic polymer which is flammable. Crown paints advise that In a fire, hazardous decomposition products such as smoke, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and oxides of nitrogen may be produced for their Acrylic Eggshell, for example. The risks vary: I wouldn't paint a stove with it for instance. You should contact the manufacturer concerned (if you know who they are) for their data sheet in relation to flammability.

Is acrylic paint flammable?!? Please help:)?

I'm in a crafty mood and I want to paint a mason jar (on the outside) all halloween themed, and the only paint I have is acrylic. I wanted to pain the outside of it and then put a candle on the inside. I was planning on paining the whole thing but adding water with the paint so it's almost translucent. Will that work? Will it burn or melt from the inside getting hot? >..< I don't want too use a battery candle.

Is acrylic paint flammable when dry?

I doubt very much that it would bust into a ball of flame since I my self have used Acrylics for some time now intuit it ever happening or been warned about it. So I say don't worry about that one :) About it being toxic I also doubt that because since we have to come into contact with it, it would be extremely stupid to have toxic materials in it.

Is spray paint and/or acrylic paint still flammable after drying?

I know if you actually held a flame up to it and touched it long enough it would probably catch on fire. That's not what I'm talking about though. If I use spray paint and/or acrylic to paint a candle holder (the type you hang on the wall)... will it still be safe to use candles in it? The flames would be roughly 2 to 3 inches from any painted surface.

Will acrylic paint be flammable on a lamo shade?

It will probably be okay, especially if you use CFL bulbs rather than incandescent because they don't generate much heat. As a rule of thumb, you have to be careful when adding anything to a lampshade, because some materials can catch fire, but as long as you let the paint dry thoroughly before using the lamp and keep an eye on it when you first use it, it should be fine. If you see smoke, or it smells funny, turn it off and make other arrangements, but you shouldn't need to.

Is acrylic paint flammable or easily melting if heated?

Acryllic paint is a poor choice to use over a plastic frame. I would have started to peel very soon from everyday wear, yes, it will melt when heated and turn ugly colors and peel off.
