Is American Horror Story Scary

Is American Horror Story scary?

So i get scared REALLY easily. I refuse to watch any horror movies. I can handle things like murder or killings, but the ghost stuff scares me. I really want to watch this, but i'm a little hesitant. Should i watch it?

How scary is American Horror Story?

I'd say the first season is the scariest. All of the seasons portray different notions of what horror is. I thought freak show would be by far the scariest (twisty the clown? Oh that mask!) But there were many episodes that left me feeling actually sad. Coven intrigued me but never scared me.Asylum had my heart pumping at times. personal note here...I was in the shower after an episode thinking of bloody face because why not? You know when you get that feeling someone is in the room with you? I turn around and no joke a man with a mask is behind me. A real man. I screamed and started crying (i guess I know how I'm going down in a slasher film!) My husband came home early from work and thought it would be funny to scare me. Murder House I guess just had more of what I think of the horror genre. It's not necessarily my favorite (i think I enjoyed coven best...while it wasn't scary to me I just really loved watching it) but it's a great show.

How Scary is American Horror Story?

I'm 14, and I've only just started watching "horror" movies.
I saw an Ad for American Horror Story, and it looked really good,
but before i watch it, I wanted to know how scary is it?
Like Compared to Supernatural or Paranormal Activity, is it scarier?
Also could someone give me a bit of a description of what exactly it's about,
5 stars to the best answer! :)

Is "American Horror Story" scary?

I've heard that the tv show "American Horror Story" is a very good show. I've been wanting to watch it for a while now, but the thing is I get scared quite easily. I've never seen a horror movie, but the few scary encounters I have had - whether it be an in real life experience, tv show, book, story, etc. - have never exactly ended well for me. It always leads me to staying up all night and not being able to fall asleep. I also suffer from anxiety which definitely doesn't help. I would love to watch "American Horror Story," but first I would like to know if it's scary or not. Also, if it is scary, how scary is it exactly? I can handle a coupe jump scares, or creepy/eerie/disturbing stuff. But, if it's something extremely frightening that would cause me to be up at night, then I would love to know before I decide to watch it. Thank you for listening and all replies are extremely appreciated!

Is American Horror Story Scary?

It is a great show! I must say, the first season may seem more appealing, because it's a teen thing and it looks cool with all that stuff, but the second season (asylum), they use a period setting, and it's awesome!

In my experience, the first season isn't scary AT ALL. It's just like a trial run or something to see how it's done, but the second season isn't scary, per say, but it is much MUCH more disturbing. But the acting is phenomenal.

It's a great show, and unique in it's own way. It definitely keeps you craving for more by the end of the episode, and you will love the intricate connections in the storyline, even if some of them are odd and unexpected.

The show always delivers, even if you think it's getting dull, DO NOT GIVE UP. If you get scared easily (i.e., if you scream at ghosts, blood, and scary bogeymen), then I suggest cautioning yourself when watching asylum, but the first season is great for first timers.

After you get a feel for the show after watching the first few episodes, you'll be okay with the rest of it.

Good luck, and JOIN US!!

Ps. Another reason to keep watching is because Evan Peters (Tate/Kit) is incredibly hot. (Unless you're a guy, in which case, please disregard this and watch it for all the other hot female characters)

Pps. The actors really do justice to the show and their characters, and you will like them, expecially the acting in asylum.

Pps. The second season just ended, so if you're just starting, then you will have something to do for a very long time. You will have a LOT to watch and awe to be awed at. c:

How scary is American Horror Story?

It honestly depends on the person, I am not too phased by gore and I don't get too scared.
Season One was in the house and that one wasnt very gory or scary, probably the least scary one in my opinion.
Season Two was the asylum and that was scarier and creepy for sure
Season Three was the coven, and that was not scary at all, but it was really good!
Season Four was the freak show and I hate clowns so that was pretty scary for me haha.
They are all pretty sexual and creepy but I dont find them very scary. Some episodes may be scarier than others but overall the seasons arent too bad!
Just depends on the person(:

Is American Horror Story Coven scary?

okay. so I decided that i was going to start watching american horror story. i think the one i wanna watch is season three, coven.

i see the promos for it all the time on tv and it looks pretty good. i looked up the trailers for coven on youtube and they looked super good and super interesting. the girls hanging on the walls! the dark music that goes with it! ahh it looks so good.

but the thing is, im a pretty big scardy cat when it comes to horror movies. but only like truly scary movies. im sure you've all seen those movies that just scar you for life. so yeah. i watch the walking dead with my brother, and i guess thats gory and intense. maybe not super scary but still.

i dont really like paranormal stuff like possesions and stuff. like paranormal acticity. yeah thats a no from me. and season three is about witches and stuff so there shouldnt be too much of that right?

i guess im pretty much just asking is it scary? lots of pop up seens? lots of gore? is coven the least scary season? can you compare it too like a movie or something?

idk. just dont wanna watch it and end up being too much of a pussy to watch the rest.

im just a scardy cat okay!! lol.

hope you anwser!

How scary is American Horror Story: Coven?

The answer to this is strictly subjective.  I've found that AHS is really a mash of the various horror genres, and different genres scare different types of people.AHS Coven uses witchcraft as its primary theme, but then incorporates voodoo, zombies, blind intuition, bestiality, serial slashers, buried alive, torture porn, and an anti witchcraft cabal, all into the narrative.  It even throws in a fundamentalist Christian family as neighbors. While I enjoyed Coven, I didn't find it all that scary.  My scares come from darker themes, many of which were explored in the previous season, Asylum.  There were parts I found disturbing, in a good way, and others I found gratuitous while not actually integral to the plot.  The strength of the show is really in the cast, both recurring and single season.  Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett are perfect for their individual roles, and Gabourey Sidbe of "Precious" (a controversial choice  simply for superficial reasons) is a great addition to the season.  Stevie Nicks also makes extended muliptle cameos as herself.  I have always been a big fan of her and her music, and she is still as beautful now as when I was a kid, but the musical interlude feels more like a variety show segment.  Overall, AHS is worth the watch.  It incorporates so many types of horror, it's likely you'll find something in it that scares you.
