Is Hollister Expensive In America

Why is Hollister so expensive?

It's expensive because they know someone will pay that price for it just because it says Hollister down the front.

The quality of the shirts isn't even that good, certainly not worth the 32 pounds (I live in America, sorry, I am not sure how to make a pound sign on my keyboard).

No, I wouldn't pay that much for it. The quality is poor and therefor the price is not justified.

Is Hollister expensive in U.S?

Abercrombie and Hollister are both owned by Abercrombie. However, Hollister is for a different market than Abercrombie. HoCo's main target audiences are for teenagers 13-18ish. Of course, older and younger people still shop there, because at work I get mom's come in and buy clothes for themselves! Anyway, because of the younger target audience, the price is lower. Abercrombie's target audience is more for the college age kids (which is why around campus I see everyone in A&F). They normally would have a larger amount of available money, than kids in middle and high school, therefore, the prices are more expensive. If you know of Ruehl No. 925, it's another A&F lifestyle brand. Their target audience is for people 25-early 30's. The prices for these clothes are even more expensive than A&F because the people in this age bracket would most likely be holding down a steady job and could pay for the clothes.

Is Hollister expensive...?

Everyone says Hollister is soooo expensive, but i don't really think it is. Its a little pricey but what do you expect? its a name brand store.
Abercrombie on the other hand is RIDICULOUS. It's pretty overrated as are the other stores. Whats the point of spending 100 dollars on jeans when you can get 2 just as good pairs at american eagle and still have money to buy a top? I do not own anything from abercrombie because of the ridiculous prices.
I actually like aeropastle. Their clothes are cheap at times and they are cute! I think that all clothes of namebrands are the same quality, they are all going to rip at one point but they still last.
One of my other favorites is American Eagle. I think their clothes are adorable. They are a little pricey but its worth it. :) Hope i helped!

Why is Hollister so expensive?

I'll admit I shop there and I do love there clothes, but i dont like the graphic tees, anyways, i dont understand why its so expensive im 14 and i obviously cant get a job, but my mom buys their clothes for me or if i save up money, but my mom actually doesnt mind paying a lot for their clothes becasue there shrits and dresses etc are cute, but i feel bad for her to waste her money, and their clothes do rip after a while so why is it sooo expensive. 20 dollars for a freakin plain tank top youre kidding.

Why is hollister, acerombie, and american eagle so expensive?

It's expensive because people want it to be. It's a status symbol. If this stuff was selling in Wal-Mart for $14.99, no one would buy it.

If you want name brands that your parents can't afford, ask them to take you to a thrift store or consignment shop. I find Abercrombie, American Eagle and Hollister all the time in Goodwill. The same items you would buy in the mall for $75-80 dollars are in the thrift stores for $ 5-10 dollars. No one will know the difference.

Ebay is another option. There's tons of new & used name brand jeans for a fraction of the retail price.

Why is Abercrombie & Fitch more expensive than Hollister?

ACTUALLY,While Abercrombie & Fitch Co. and Hollister Co. ARE the same company, Abercrombie & Fitch tops and sweats use a tighter stitched double-layer preshrunk cotton with double surging to maintain shape, and rigid one-sided sandblasted indigo denim, whereas Hollister uses a weft weave (used to make softer denim) cotton and a loose surge for tops and sweats, as well as stonewashed indigo denim so that the items are either loose or will fit to the wearer’s body after multiple washer/dryer cycle.Abercrombie stuff lasts longer.(Accessories and non-fitted underwear change qualities all the time, the pricepoints aren’t that different between the brands.)There’s your price difference.

Why is America so expensive to live in?

Greed and the almighty dollar, that is why. You know, I wrote a large article about the housing bubble and the recent great financial collapse (recession/depression). Everybody blamed the banks, but you know who was also guilty-people getting loans they could never afford, greedy steal estate agents and developers who put people in overpriced houses so their commission would be bigger, closing agents who gave the mortgage holder all but a few seconds to review their documents, closing and escrow greedy co’s that did not effectuate the deal properly-and yes, of course, the robo signers with the mortgage company’s and the banks who let any loan go while their greedy ultimate goal was to simply adjust the rates and or bundle the loan securities up and sell the vehicles to other investors-while most Americans didn’t even know they had an adjustable mortgage. On top of that, paying for bogus mortgage insurance, etc. (PMI), which was never there to protect the mortgage holders (never heard news about those did yeah) and last but not least, mortgage broker crooks, who damn well knew the consequences of the loans and clearly seeing that people could never make it-got it approved. What does this have to do with your question. Well, everything operates like this here and it just hasn’t collapsed yet. Purely, I am mostly reverting to the Olympic size mess of the US Health Care System and all insurance related schemes too include auto insurance. It is fucking criminal that most working class can’t afford medical care while payimg taxes so some fat ghetto trash with three kids has the best insurance possible. Car insurance, even the most basic is astronomically high, even if you have never been in an accident before.

Is hollister cheaper in america or something?

I constantly hear about americans shopping at hollister around here and other places, and i'm slightly confused. We have it over here, but it's like some kind of dream shop. ;P It's dark, with loud music and freshly perfumed sprayed clothes, with a lobby complete with couches and all that. But it's about 30 GBP for a top there, 50 GBP + for jeans and I think I saw a hoodie for £100.

There is a new look right next to the hollister where I go so you could get 5 times as many clothes. Granted, you don''t get the brand name, but still.

Is it a cheaper, less elite shop in america?
Sorry, random question but it's been bugging me.

Do you think American eagle and Hollister are over priced?

Hollister, definitely not. For the quality and the fit, they are very reasonable. They are downright cheap when you buy during their sales and clearances. I've bought 5 polo shirts for $70 and they are my favorites for comfort and fit. Their jeans are always on sale for $25 and come in all sorts of fits and colors, which actually fit me better than a lot of my more expensive jeans. They also use stretch material in their jeans and shirts so it is very comfortable to wear.American Eagle is higher priced and I haven't really liked their designs to shop there much. They remind me of Abercrombie, whose stuff is definitely overpriced. I used to shop A&F religiously, and built up a whole entire wardrobe full of nothing but A&F tee shirts, polo shirts, dress shirts, casual shirts, jeans, khakis, jackets, sweatshirts, etc. I spent a lot of money on A&F. Their jeans go on sale for $39 but can be as high as $88. Some of their jeans are just so uncomfortable though that I really only wore them a handful of times before giving up and giving most of them away. I think I gave away about $3k worth of A&F clothing within the last year alone.
