Is It Gaudy For A Man To Wear 2 Gold Rings And A Gold Watch

Are gold watches tacky?

A lot of ink has been spilled on the topic of gold watches. For this answer, I will rather focus on yellow gold as pink and white gold are found in some of the most exquisite and refined pieces and no one will argue about that.It is true that yellow gold watches carry some sort of bling around them. But you can still look very elegant wearing one, it all depends on the watch and the way it is worn. While having only worn steel watches for many years, I am now looking for something different than what I currently own. Actually quite the opposite. A vintage Rolex Day-Date 1803 in full yellow gold!Let me explain what draw me to that particular watch! As I was writing above, I am looking for a watch that would add something to my current collection which can be seen as very classical. A gold watch is definitely an option! While there is definitely a lot of gold between the case and the bracelet, I find the watch pretty much discreet as it is only has a 36 mm diameter. It will easily hide under your sleeve and add a little of color when it pops out! Those watches also carry a fifties vibe at a time where men were very elegantly dressed and gold watches were popular. I’m sure this style will make a comeback (and those watches too)! They aren’t that expensive for the moment, I clearly see an opportunity here. The most important thing however, is to adjust properly your bracelet. The last thing you’d want is to look like that:Also please avoid two-tones watches, I know they are quite popular in some regions but for me it’s an absolute no go and they offer a poor resale value. The market is always right!

Can I wear the bracelet and watch on the same hand?

Of course, you can. However, wearing a bracelet along with watch is not very much in.However, I’d advise you it’s better to wear bracelet in your left hand because that’s what you’d feel quite comfortable with. Any fashion jewellery or accessory like bracelet looks appealing when you feel feel comfortable with that. The Jewellery Hub London online store for fashion jewellery UK

Why did Chandler make a big scene for wearing a gold bracelet?

Didn't you see the bracelet? Did it look like attractive to you? Well not to me.When Joey gifted it my first thought was why was he giving him a women's jewellery. Although I don't know how Americans see it. But here in India women sometimes wear that kind of jewellery made of gold and that too only with the traditional dresses like with sari.On second thought I considered maybe he was giving him a watch strap but true definition was from Chandler only “a women repeller”.

What do people think about men wearing jewelry, excluding wedding rings and watches?

Obviously, a nice watch and a ring (even if it's not a wedding ring) are fairly standard and common for men. If you're wearing a good suit, cuff links and sedate tie clips are fine, as well -- as long as they're classically styled -- no novelty version (dollar signs, golf balls, etc.) (Note: cufflinks should ONLY be worn if you're wearing a suit.) It's hard to go wrong here, as long as none of these items have any jewels on them whatsoever. Beyond that?Jewelry is a bit like leather pants. There aren't too many guys who can pull it off without looking like a poser, a douche, or both, and those who can tend to be rock stars and well-known actors. To be blunt: if you had to ask this question, you probably don't have what it takes to pull off a look that includes lots of jewelry. Be very very selective if you go beyond the standard items described above, and only wear items that have an intense personal meaning for you. Nate has noted that "men are buying jewelry at levels not since before the recession." To which I must respond: just because lots of men are buying something doesn't mean it's a good idea. Lots of men bought leisure suits in the 1970s and "Hammer pants" in the 1980s, too. Turns out they looked pretty freaking awful in them.

What do the markings on the inside of my ring mean?

It is a very gaudy yellow gold colored ring with several diamonds or cubic zirconias in it (I'm not sure how to decipher between the two). The marking reads "18KH6E" with what looks like a an uppercase A within a circle next to it. I know 18K is for 18K gold, but I don't know what the other letters beside it mean. Thanks!

Is it true that it is not healthy for men to wear gold?

Pure gold may be inert and non toxic, but much gold that is sold is far from pure. If 24 carat gold is pure gold then 8 carat is mostly not gold and even 16 carat will be at least one third other metals.I’m male and I've had allergic reactions to various metals I've worn, the stainless steel back of a watch can give me a bright red painful circle on my skin and an 18 carat gold watch strap had a similar effect. Titanium and pure gold are two metals I don't react to. One of my relatives has the same issue so it could be genetic.

Do you think a fake gold watch is tacky?

That particular watch is tacky and looks cheap. Look at classic styles from Seiko on Amazon.

A very quick introduction to watches and then, below, some suggestions:

Watch lovers love mechanical watches. Mechanical watches are anachronistic; quartz watches are much more accurate and much less expensive. Good mechanical watches can cost tens of thousands of dollars but are intended to last decades or longer. Patek Philippe, Rolex, and others make watches at this level.

Most people do not want such an expensive watch, and watches in the $30+ range are accurate and reliable. (Timex makes watches at this level.)

For a bit more, you can choose a watch with better finishing details and have more options (style-wise). If you're willing to spend up to $200 or so you can choose from innumerable styles of quartz watches that will be well-made and reliable. Watches at this level will be steel and, if you wish, gold-plated. Seiko and many others make watches at this level.

(In between extremely good mechanical watches and $200 watches are quartz watches made by serious watch companies that also make mechanical watches. These watches are made of gold so they cost quite a bit more than $200, and their finishing detail is usually very well done. Watches in this range might cost from $1,200 to $15,000+. Baume et Mercier and many others make watches at this level.)

For your first watch, look at Seiko, among others. They make many different styles, their quality is good, and you'll be happy with one as your first.
