I can feel my lymph nodes....?

About a year and a half ago I was at a horse show and my horse took a jump very weird and it made my body do something weird in the air. My neck started feel super stiff all the time after that and I was always rubbing it. I felt two little lumps in my neck which I knew was lymph nodes(they could have been there before this I would not have noticed). I went to the doctor who said she could not even feel them but I could feel them easily so could not understand why she could not. Just to make me feel better she sent me for a CAT scan which came back that my lymph nodes were a little enlarged but still within normal size. About 6 months later I had blood work done for a different surgery and the doctore orded every type of blood work you can have done, everything came back normal. The lymph nodes are less then 1cm and are very soft and I can only feel them if I press into my neck a little. They do puff up a little if I play with them but always go back down. They have been there for at the least over a year and a half and they have not changed at all. From what the doctors have said and what I have researched I should not be worried but it is still in the back of my mind sometimes. Should I be worried? Does anyone else have lymph nodes they can feel?

Is it normal to feel Lymph nodes ?

I'm a 18 year old guy, and I'm very skinny and I could feel most of lymph nodes around my body. I wouldn't say they are swollen because they don't feel that large, there about the size of a large bean and I bit flatter. But yeah I was wondering if it's normal that I can feel them like groin, neck and some others. Most of the time they are not sore although one in a while random ones do get a little sore for some reason even though I'm not sick. So is this normal for a skinny guy ? By the way I'm 6'1 and 136 lbs

Is it normal to feel lymph nodes in the neck? They feel soft and are movable.

Yes it is normal to feel lymph nodes in the neck and head. Palpation findings are not the only way to evaluate. If they suspect a problem additional testing would be recommended. To summarize: feeling soft and moveable lymph nodes in a person's neck falls within a common and normal description. However, if the only lymph nodes you have ever felt are your own, then you logically would not have much experience to compare how they feel to other "normal" lymph nodes. Your HCP is trained to evaluate your lymph nodes and has the experience to determine how "normal" they appear. Nothing beats clinical experience, not even the Internet. : ))

Is it normal to be able to feel 3-5 lymph nodes under your chin/jaw area?

You have a sizable collection of lymph nodes there and they have a fairly demanding job that includes “draining” all of the inflammatory enzymes your body created to deal with the vast array of foreign/inhaled material from your sinuses. You SHOULD be able to feel your lymph nodes in that region. Try to get a sense of what they feel like when you feel well and what they feel like when you do not. Say like when you have a cold. This will give you a sense of what you are looking for when using lymph node palpation to help diagnose acute ailments.

Can a normal healthy person feel thier lymph nodes?

ive read several places online that almost 40% of the population can feel thier lymph nodes somewhat, often referred to as shot lymph nodes or just slightly feeling them. I think I can barely feel my lymph nodes in the groin area but theres no real shape or size...its just a muscle feeling area around the groin crease where it starts on both sides. I have read alot of people can feel thier groin lymph nodes somewhat, espically if they are thin and im thin. I mean these arnt visible I gotta press down and I feel a slightly rough area, is that my lyph nodes? Theres no real shape, not even bb size or anything. Is this where my lymph nodes are?

Is it normal to be able to feel ball like lymph nodes in your neck?

as a medical view, anything out of the normal size, regarded as serious condition. If the size is more than 1 cm in diameter, it may get the attention, because the infections in the face or neck made the LN enlarged, but no more than 1 cm. and this enlargement might be Tonsillitis, corticullus, benighn tumor or may be rhabdomyoma or even rhabdosarcoma. so every swelling in the neck need further follow up and investigations.

Should I be able to feel my lymph nodes?

Do nothing. Lymph nodes can be felt in perfectly healthy people, and it is common for people to find them by feeling around their neck and jaw, as well as in the groin. Your description is of normal, healthy lymph nodes that are the right size. People also have warm skin. You are supposed to feel warm. If you are not feverish, you are not too warm. Heat a beaker/cup of water up to 98.6 degrees and see how warm that feels to the back of your hand.

Your anxiety is getting the better of you and you are fixating on death from disease. Lymphoma and leukemia are not common cancers, and you need to worry about living your life happily and not about coming down with a rare disease. The right step now may be to go talk to a therapist or psychiatrist about what you can do to decrease your anxiety levels, as these are more detrimental to your health than is an unlikely illness.

If a person is not sick can they still feel their lymph nodes? If so, what are they suppose to feel like?

Lymph nodes are part of our defensive system, normal ones as elastic, not affixed to the layer underneath, nor to one another, usually no bigger then say 2 mm, if the body part that empties if lymph into the nodes is inflamed/wounded/infected these lymph nodes will swell. Here is an overview where lymph nodes can be found

Why can I feel my lymph node under my jaw?

Much of the answer is age dependent. In children, with a thorough head and neck examination, I would always expect to palpate (feel) a submandibular lymph node on at least one side. If I did not point it out, the patient and the parent would be unaware of it. It is normal. In teenagers, even a small amount of active acne will produce a similar reactive node, again, normal. These are sometimes tender. In anybody with a dental infection of the lower teeth, an enlarged and tender node is expected. In an adult, a submandibular mass may additionally be an inflamed submandibular salivary gland, often with a stone blocking the duct.In much older people, I would be looking for a lesion in the mouth (I do check at any age) which could be benign or cancerous. These are the more common causes. There are many other less common ones.An ENT doc is specifically trained to evaluate this type of problem and determine if anything should be done.
