Is It Possible For A Sister To Be Taller Than Her Brother

Is it possible for a sister to be taller than her brother?

I was just wondering if it was possible because I have never heard of a sister being taller than her brother. Since they got height genes from the same parents that would mean the brother is always taller because the average boy is taller than the average girl right? Do u know of any sisters taller than their brothers?

Are your little brothers or sisters taller than you?

nope it doesn;t bother me. i stand 5*7 at 150. my little bother stands 6*5 at 350lbs. all muscle. i use him as a bodyguard. my little sister is about the same size as me.

Do you have a little brother or sister who is taller than you.?

I am 14 a boy my little sister is 9 and is already taller than me. I am 5'4" and she is 5'5". Both of our parents are short (mom is 5'0" and dad is 5'5"). She has recently started growing at a rate of about 1 inch a month. She also has bigger feet than I do. I wear a size 6 in boys and she wears a size 9 1\2 in womens. When will she stop growing and when will I start growing. My sister can wear our moms shoes and she will wear our moms highest heels which have a 4 inch heel around me. She calls me her little big brother. I can't help but feel that before long I will only be as tall as her belly if I dont start growing soon. What should I do? is there any way I could stop her from growing? How long Do growth spurts last? If she keeps growing at the rate she is she will be 6'0"in July, and if I don't start my growth spurt soon, she will be almost a foot taller than me and 4 years younger

Is is strange for a sister to be taller than her brother when both are fully grown?

I'm a few years older than my sister, but she was always quite tall for her age and I always thought that she would grow up to be a very tall woman. About a year ago, which was about a year after I'd realized that I had stopped growing at 5-9, I told my sister that she was going to be taller than I was, especially given that our mom is 5-8 and dad is 6 feet. Right now she is 15 and was measured at 5-8 last month, but I think she still has a few more inches to grow.

Is it really that strange if she does end up taller than me? most of the guys i know are shorter than their sisters when they wear heels anyway.

Will my sister always be taller than her big brother?

There's no supposed to's, only what is. Your on the shorter side for men and she's tall for a girl. Not a chance at this age that you'll catch up to her, you've got maybe a few more inches over the next four to six years (maybe not). She might make 6 if she has another growth spurt. Most of us level off around 20, though a inch or two in your early twenties isn't unusual.

I wonder how many girls are taller than her brothers?

I am a 25 years old girl. I can be considered to be a tall girl with my height 1.77. I wasn't tall at all. My 24 year old brother is 1.72. He is shorter than me. In the early school years, he was even slightly taller than despite his younger age. He was proud of his height and teasing me eith being short. In puberty, I grew more taller than me and he couldn't overtake me. Also, when I wear high heeled shoes, I am at least 10 cm taller than him. Tis emberrasses him very much. He doesn't want to be in picture with me except that I twist my leg.
Girls: Can you write your and shorter brother's heights?

Why am I taller than my big sister? She is older than me.

This depends on a couple of factors, which are genes, and puberty. You’ve probably inherited genes that cause you to be taller than her. Whilst siblings tend to inherit similar genes, it’s not possible for them to be identical. Because of this, one sibling is almost guaranteed to be taller, or shorter than the other. You may have began puberty earlier, therefore, you’re taller now, but you’d be shorter than her when you finish growing. Early puberty will cause you to grow as if you’re older, as your body is more mature. Most females begin puberty at age eleven [1], but beginning at age nine would cause your bone age to be more advanced, and as you began puberty two years early, you’d grow as if you were two years older, meaning you’d cease growth earlier than you technically should. There’s also precocious puberty, which is when puberty begins at age eight or below for females, and will stunt growth. Even if a person ends up to appear normal, they’ll permanently be below their genetic height (usually by a few inches) unless they receive medical treatment. So ending up at 5′0″ would’ve indicated an actual genetic stature of about 5′4″ [2].In the case that you’re a male, you’re entirely normal. Males are supposed to be taller than females, therefore, you’re taller.Footnotes[1] Disorders of Puberty[2] Precocious Puberty

Why is my younger sister so much taller than me?

Genetics, my dear!In my case, my younger sister and I have the same mom but different dads. My dad was a whopping 5'6″ tall. Her dad is 6'2″, I believe. I am 15 years older than my sister, so she's still a teenager, but she outgrew me in height when she was only 13 or 14. She is around 6' right now and has the potential to be even taller than that if she has more growth spurts before adulthood. I am 5'3″, I LITERALLY stopped growing at 13. I have been the same shoe size, same height, same waist size (except for when I had baby weight to lose), everything just stopped at that age for me. I hit puberty at about the normal age for girls, my sister didn't get her period ‘til she was like 15 or 16. I have petite features, she has large Norwegian or perhaps Scandinavian features? Legitimately she is a large-framed person, and I am the extreme opposite. Our mother is average height and build so apparently neither of us got her genes in regards to height or frame. I have 4 kids, all with the same man who is 5'7″ and has an average to naturally muscular build. Already my ten-year-old daughter has bigger feet than me. As do my 12 and 14 year old boys. My 14 year old son just grew a half inch taller than me, and obviously he's not done growing- at this rate he'll likely outgrow his dad as well. Our 12 year old son is almost as tall as I am, as is my 10 year old daughter. They'll both outgrow me for sure, and I wouldn't doubt if at least one of them outgrows their dad as well. Our 4 year old son is very small for his age, so maybe he'll be the only one of our four that inherits both of our’s small stature! We both have an equal spread of short people and tall people in our families, but both of us turned out pretty short. Genetics is such a crap-shoot when it comes to height and build!Obviously I don't know if you both have the same parents, or your ages, but even so…. You two could have both of the same parents and one of you still could end up inheriting some of the shorter genes, and one of you the taller genes in your family. Totally normal, but it does feel kinda weird, I know.
