Is It Possible That I Have Nest Of Roaches In My Home If I Found 3 Roaches

I found a roach in my house. Does this mean I have a roach problem?

(Only serious answers please!) I have a huge phobia of bugs. When I see them, I refuse to even so much as kill them because I want to come in no contact with them. I don't even like butterflies or ladybugs! So today, I found a roach. I'm scared that now I'm going to have a roach problem because I heard that 1)They lay thousands of eggs and 2) If you see one, that means you have thousands of them. I did recently go to the grocery store and I heard that they can be picked up from there, but that's only a possibility, not a guarantee. Even if it did get picked up from the grocery store, what if it laid eggs! I'm freaking out right now! Especially because I'm sure that if I do have a roach problem, they're going to make their way up to my room! I eat in my room all the time and I have a stink bug problem (I have a hole in my ceiling of my room that they some how get in there) I only ever find them in my room, no where in the house! I found the roach in my kitchen, but I know they're going to come up in my room! I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight. It was only one roach, and I'm already freaking out. I keep feeling like things are crawling on me now, but it's just my brain thinking that! I'm scared when I go to sleep they'll crawl all over me and stuff. Help!?! (Also. don't recommend an exterminator. I can't afford one.)

Have a problem with huge tree roaches - do they "nest" in houses ?

actually they wont be over two inches long :) the largest is the American roach...and #2 will be the Smokey Brown roach...outdoor population finding their way inside. This time of year if you have any inside they will be the adults (very large) or newly hatched ones (adult dropped off an egg capsule). Use any of the residual products around the entry points of the home...thresholds of the exterior doors, around window sills, treat the weep holes. Then use the pre mixed product that you attach to the garden hose and and treat around the exterior of the home concentrating on the flower beds next to the structure. Make sure there isn't a wood pile (especially and old rotting wood pile) next to the home. Even tress within 40 feet of the home that may have a hollow spot on them may be the source of the population. Also when I get calls on these roaches this time of year that are found in a room with a fireplace, the damper may need to be closed.

If by chance you see many of the in between / immature sizes of theses roaches it may indicate that there is a moisture problem that needs fixing.

How to get rid of Roaches??

Use dry boric acid powder ... dust it where you can see they must walk ... ususally along the edges of walls at the floor and attached counters, and inside closed furniture. Boric acid is perfectly safe around babies and children and it's also the ONLY thing that they can walk through, get on their chitin and carry back to the nest ... and when they die the others will eat them and it will kill them, too ... it takes about 6-8 weeks and you must keep putting new dust down once a week, but you will be 'roach free' in two months ... and no 'Raid' or 'spray' and no 'pest control bill' ... and I know it works, because I got this information from a really GOOD pest control person ... I've used it and it has worked EVERY TIME ... I've moved into a place that had roaches, all the neighbors had roaches, and after two months they wouldn't go near my apartment because I kept the boric acid dust out. Buy the dust at the drug store or some hardware stores. Boric acid is so MILD that eye doctors prescribe it to wash a newborn's eyes when it's mixed with boiled water ... and a child would have to eat more than a pound and the worst that would happen is that the kid would be constipated.

What causes roaches to come into your house when you're very clean? How do you get rid of them?

I'm a very clean person and the other day I saw a roach in my house when I got home and the very next day I saw one again. I couldn't believe it. I'm not even sure why they came. How can I get rid of them? Does the fact that I live in a townhouse where I'm connected wall to wall to other people make me more likely to have them? I'm grossed out and I want them gone! Thanks guys =)
