Does browsing on a phone use less data than browsing on a PC laptop?

Yes phones uses less data compared to Large screen Laptop/Desktops.Nowadays most of the sites are designed in a way that the sites adjust to the screen resolution, size. Mobile friendly sites are there like mentioned in other answers and they consume very much less data. Also while buffering videos, mobile devices tends to buffer low resolution videos compared to larger screen device hence again results in lesser data consumption but some sites are not really mobile friendly. Example: Playing a video on a site and you simply use the drag/seek bar and the video starts buffering from beginning again, hence resulting in more data consumption whereas the site works perfectly fine on laptops. << This happens with some sites only and with old mobile devices. If you are interested in reducing Data consumption on mobile device, i would recommend you to try Opera Max. They transfer files through their server with data compression and your data consumption will be almost half in size.

Will the application "easytether" cause Windows to blue screen?

I got easy tether on my Droid Eris and want to use its internet on my laptop. The only thing that worries me is that since it's not supported (not sure if that's the right word) by windows, will it cause a BSOD? Lemme know and thanks!

Oh, and I want to use easytether b/c my school's internet is sooo frickin slow, I have to wait a long time for buffering for videos and pages to load.
