Asking a girl if she's PMSing, is that rude?
She's one of my friend. Not like a best friend or anything like that, but more like a "casual" friend. She's been bitchy, blunt, VERY sensitive, and tired. She isn't usually like that. I think she's PMSing. Should I ask her if she's PMSing? If she is, then I can just leave her alone until she feels better, and I guess that helps both of us. But the problem is, do you think it's rude for a "casual" friend to ask whether she's PMSing or not, especially when I'm a guy?

If anything, it's a compliment :) But just fyi, if you ask this to a girl she will most likely completely over-analyze and think you're asking her to marry you, buy her a house where she will make you sandwiches and have 27 children and a dog. I kid, of course. But she will think you're attracted to her ;P

I disagree with the first writer to make it "jokingly" I think real and sincere interest need to be shown. It's not rude at all to want to know someone. Be real. Say this in your own style and words...."I've seen you several times and can't keep my eyes off you (flattery).....are you available right now (you need the go ahead signal).....I'd love to get to know you! How about a coffee?" (throw out some bait and see if she bites)

It depends on the context. Even if it's not always rude, it's at least always a intimate question, thus it'd be inappropriate unless you're in a setting where asking intimate questions is OK.If you're about to have sex with someone, for example, I don't think it could be constructed as rude to say: "I'm a virgin -- how about you ?"I've asked people on Quora this on occasion, but only if they're asking specific questions about sex where the answer matters for how I'd respond, and usually in those cases they're anonymous anyway.I don't like the term "virgin" though, because it sort of implies that sexuality is binary, and that inserting a penis into a vagina is a magical barrier where everything change if you cross it. And I don't agree with that view at all. In my world, there's a thousand different forms of sex along a continum, and no single step along this continum is "magic".It also gives the impression that only penetration counts, and that's silly too. By that logic, two people who's been having non-penetrative sex with oneanother for a year are nevertheless both still virgins.Thus even if I'm curious, I'll probably ask about someones sexual experiences, and not about being a virgin as such.
