Is It Silly To Wear Leather Boots To School

There are good or cheap brands for cowboy boots, but are there ridiculously expensive cowboy boots brands?

The point at which “expensive” becomes “ridiculously expensive” depends on the buyer and what it is one is actually buying. If all you want is a pair of cowboy-style boots to wear clubbing, then you can go cheap. You don’t even need a western brand. Maybe you need sturdy boots to cover your feet while you work in the barn or ride your horse. It would be silly for you to buy a pair of handmade, custom-fitted, hand-tooled alligator boots to wear while mucking stalls, but it would also be silly to buy a pair of cheap boots that wouldn’t hold up. It would make sense to spend a couple hundred dollars or even more on well-made, functional boots. There is a market for expensive boots. Pricey off-the-shelf brands such as Old Gringo or Lucchese use premium materials and have extensive hand work and intricate decoration. Here’s what Old Gringo says about their process:Every boot is a culmination of an over 250 step production process performed by skilled craftsmen at our Old Gringo Factory. Utmost care is given to every single pair of boot during the production process, because we understand how important the look, feel and fit of it has to be for you. Under a climate controlled environment, the leather is hand-blasted and hand colored. Every Old Gringo design is perfectly balanced. We produce and tan our selected leathers in textures, colors and finishes unique to Old Gringo. You can’t rush quality, boots are given the time to cure naturally, to ensure exceptional fit and some styles may take up to 3 days to make one pair.No wonder they cost more than boots made in a factory in China.Semi-custom and custom boots are of course even more expensive, but they are also kinder to your feet and legs. For someone who lives in their boots, or for someone who is hard to fit, custom boots may be a godsend and worth every penny. Plus, they can be made exactly as the buyer wants them.At some point, the buyer is no longer paying for footwear. Beautiful cowboy boots can be works of art and coveted collectors’ items. People who love beautiful boots will pay what they can afford, the same as people who collect stamps, tattoos, PEZ dispensers, or impressionist paintings.

Are you allowed to wear high heels to school?

you're allowed to, but i really wouldn't if i were you. not a lot of people do, and you would probably feel self conscious a) being notably taller than usual, b) walking around in them if you're not extremely comfortable in heels, c) making noise walking around in the halls/class when no one else is because no one else is wearing heels.

they're too dressy for middle school, but if you have a concert for band or are going on a fancy school trip to like a museum or something, you have an excuse :)

good for you for being a middle schooler and wanting to wear heels.. sounds like you're a fashionista in progress (:

Why do military personnel tuck their trousers into their boots?

There are a number of reasons, and this forum thread covers most of the ones I know about and a few others. It keeps your trousers out of the mud and keeps them from swishing against each other (as much) when you're on the march. It's partly tradition, honoring the Airborne Infantry of the second World War, and back then it was important for keeping your trousers from flapping around or snagging on things in the airplane and on the way down. It also makes it easier to issue uniforms in a few standard sizes, since they don't have to be hemmed to fit the individual soldier. It should be noted that the term for this practice is "blousing" the boots, and that tucking in is not the only way it's accomplished. There are various devices available to produce the desired effect without tucking in, and the uniform trousers come with a drawstring in the cuff which does the same thing, sort of. In the US Army, different specialties or areas within the service have different ways they generally prefer to blouse their trousers (similar to the way US Navy Sailors have different ways of styling and blocking their dixie cup hats). Some people like to "peg" their pants by folding them over before tucking them in. Some people put devices, like tin cans with both ends cut out, inside the bloused portion to weigh them down and keep a perfectly round and symmetrical appearance (I've seen some Air Force personnel do this, too). I used the included drawstring, tied loosely enough so that my cuffs hung as low as possible and covered most of my boot, because it was more comfortable that way and that's how the other guys in my unit did it. For the most part everybody thinks everyone else's way of doing it is silly. All of the above only applies to the fatigue/combat uniform. If trousers are worn this way in a service dress uniform, it signifies that the wearer is a member of an Airborne unit.

What is with all the Freshman vegan posers at my school? Honestly..?

I am vegan and some how being vegan has become trendy. This is good and bad. Good because I have easier time finding stuff since demand has increased, bad because a lot of them arent just posers they are fakers (vegan in public only)...or not actually vegan at all in the case of your leather wearing freshmen. Just be more extreme with the animal rights stuff and then A)You will scare them off or B) You will be queen of the fresh men...either way it's win. Anyways I am sorry I feel your pain. Blame Hipsters

Have a great year!!!

Stupid question.....are my boots flammable?

With those silly laces... yeah... as for the leather, no.. there is not enough wicking area on the surface of the leather to facilitate combustion. plus the wax used on shoe is generally a low flammability type of wax, while it may burn if fed with air, generally those type of waxes self extinguish, unless they have a wicking substrate. I have had a pair of Redwings for a couple of years and use mink oil on them. also if you are doing a lot of welding consider buying leather laces, but buy a couple of pair as they where out pretty often.

Whats up with girls and uggs/furry boots?

They are absolutely terrible... the people who wear them only wear them because they are expensive and they want to show that off. I don't care what they say. That is the only possible real reason. UGGS are boots that were invented for farmers in Australia to put on in the middle of the night and go outside on their farm to do whatever random stuff they had to do. They were never meant to be worn outside the property of a late night farmwork run... they certainly weren't meant to be a fashion statement.

Anyway, there are other MUCH more attractive, much more high quality, warmer, cuter, etc. boots that cost a lot less than UGGS. So yeah... I pretty much agree. UGGS are terrible. That's been the case for almost a decade now though... I just ignore it... if they wanna charge up their credit cards so they can wear ugly stupid boots (that btw men also HATE)... then hey, more power to them...

Is it ok to wear high heels riding on the back of a motorcycle?
