Is It Wrong To Dress Up As Conjoined Twins For Halloween

Is it wrong to dress up as conjoined twins for halloween?

My friend and I were originally going to be twins with animal masks for halloween. Just something a little freaky and gory. We're absolute best friends and we were joking about how we're practically conjoined at the hip and then we were like... what if we were! So we decided to incorporate that into our costume.

Now, I understand that it is politically incorrect... but is it as bad as say... blackface? If you think about it.. LOTS of halloween costumes are totally politically incorrect.. just browse the isles of iParty! Not to mention how women only have "sexy" options and all of that. So halloween is a little messed up.. would it be wrong for us to be conjoined twins for halloween?

Is it wrong to dress identical twins alike?

I dress my 4 year old identical twins alike. They choose to be dressed alike, actually. Everyday one of them will demand 'No. I won't wear that unless Rosie is wearing hers' or if we're shopping, I'll pick something up for one of them and they'll say 'Ooh I like that Mummy. Can Ottilie have that as well?' They choose what they where together everyday.

In the morning I'll hold up a few T-shirts/skirts/dresses and ask them to choose. They usually choose the same, but if not we toss a coin and wear the loosing outfit the next day. I'm not too bothered - they're a team to each other, and for now I don't mind if they dress like one too!

For now I don't mind, although it makes it much harder for non-members of our house to tell them apart! (At nursery they love playing the 'No, I'm not Ottilie. I'm Rosie!' game, even with their teachers!)

As they grow older, I'll probably encourage them to dress differently - I want other people to reccognise each of them as individuals, not just collectively - which a lot do, at the moment. I always find myself correcting people - 'They are not just 'the twins' or 'the girls'.

Also, for their little sister's sake too. She's 2 and a 1/2, and is already showing signs of wanting to dress like her sisters, which Rosie and Ottilie are not at all happy about (No Mummy, she can't have that dress! That's OUR dress. She's not OUR twin) I don't want her to be the odd one out as they grow older.

Is it wrong to dress twins in the same outfits?

most answers here have thumbs down either on your side or not on your side. but since you said on your additional detail that:"They like it and when i do i have them in the same outfit but different colours.
I always ask them what they want to wear and they end up picking the same" = i highly think do as you like. the most person to see kids look very cute to them are the parents itself and not the people around. you know for the very first thing that people have different taste in respect to choosing the clothing of their kids. believe in yourself what is right and what is wrong. do as what you like as long as the kids like it too. at any rate when they grow up they will choose their own.
*have twin nieces not identical but they wore same dress which i sometimes made it by myself. when they grew up, they dress sometimes on the same and sometimes not. but they even wear my dress also if they fit it to them.

Is it wrong to dress up as a demon, satan or a witch for Haloween.?

Hey " Doc".. did you not get the Memo?
Why would you dabble with stuff from the darkside and endanger your physical health in the process?
Did you not read....

Six of the 10 Halloween face paints tested had nickel, cobalt, and/or chromium, all of which exceeded voluntary industry safety guidelines, and all of which could cause allergic reactions in some people, according to the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics.

At least one Halloween costume makeup labeled "nontoxic" and "hypoallergenic" -- Snazaroo Face Paint -- contained some of the highest levels of lead, nickel, and cobalt detected by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics' study.

The report also found many hazardous ingredients listed on the labels of Halloween hair-color sprays and makeup products, including butane (persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic), thiram (neurotoxic, possibly carcinogenic, used as a pesticide), alumina (neurotoxic), and propylene glycol (possibly carcinogenic), plus pigment green 7 and pigment blue 15, which are not approved by FDA for use in cosmetics.

My twin sister doesnt want me to be her maid of honor?

well, you could look at it a few ways...
she wants to be the center of attention, and the two of you shall be, if you are standing side by side... that having been said, i think it's going to raise some eyebrows for her to have chosen her friend over her twin, and there's also no escaping that...

you have every right to be hurt, but she has the same opportunities as the rest of we non-twins have... she has chosen the person to whom she thinks she feels closest...

she's also a bride-to-be, and honestly, i don't know of any who haven't made some glaring mistakes during that time in their lives... just let this pass, and be there for her throughout this whole thing... chanes are very good, this friend may or may not be there a few years down the line, but you shall be... and for all you know, your sister not only chose the wrong moh, but may realize later on she chose the wrong dress, or even the groom...

just let this pass, and act as if nothing is wrong... be her bm, be there no matter what happens 'cause she is going to need you forever... someday you shall go through a time when you are not quite yourself, and shall make some really odd choices, and i'll bet your sister shall still be there... this really means nothing, i promise...

What are some misconceptions you had as a child?

I used to bite my inner cheeks a lot so my Mum told me that if I keep doing it then one day, they will bleed. I kinda just kept doing it though and I would imagine the day a waterfall of blood would come out of my mouth (I was a pretty morbid child. My mum still laughs about this.)My parents don't like wasting food because (duh!) what parent or human being does. So they'd tell me, if you don't finish this and we throw it, it will haunt you after death. Young me believed that for a while. I'd imagine the food running after me. To this day, I sometimes do (out of fun, of course. pfft. like I still believe that. I don’t. I think.) I try my best to not throw anything anyway and if I ever have to, I give it to the stray cats/dogs.Some hijabis use pins to hold their scarves. They usually look like these:Now, I used to think people actually DUG them into their heads (like in the holes where hair grows. told you I had a very morbid imagination) till I discovered the truth. There was the “your insides will come loose if you play with your belly button"We had those toy kitchen stuff and they included salt and pepper containers (holders? shakers? not sure what they're called) and I for some reason really wanted them to actually put salt and pepper on my obviously very plastic toast. So, I asked my Mum and she was like “if you shake it hard enough, salt will come out.” (and I'm deeply shook and hurt she just wanted me to play away) I shook and shook and shook and kept shaking for a while. You can imagine my disappointment when nothing came out, ever. (this one still makes me laugh till today. I mean, I had so much faith. Ahh, innocent times.)People in the past were black and white and I really marvelled at how my uncles and parents were black and white and now they had colours. Like, woah. You guys just became colourful like that?People were actually behind the TV screen. I thought that if we actually removed the TV screen, people would be there on the other side. That we were all pretty much the same when it came to reproductive organs. Was pretty much taken aback when I saw my baby brother for the first time.Someone at school was like the government can see inside your homes via satellites and I did believe that for a tiny while. (I really surprise myself but I am, in fact, quite the on edge person when it comes to privacy)Yeah, I think that is pretty much it. Good ol' days. :D
