Is My Abscess On My Gum Healing Or Getting Worst

Gum abscess treatment?

If your symptoms are getting worse, you need to see your dentist again. Your dentist needs to determine if this is a gum infection or an infection in another tooth.

Rinse with warm salt water every 2 hours. Do not use too much salt because too much salt will irritate your gum tissue as well as dry it out. (1/2 tsp of table salt to 1 cup warm water)

Use the mouthwash the dentist prescribed.

If you are not currently taking antibiotics, consider getting a prescription.

If there is a bubble, (pimple), on the gum tissue, it is best to let the dentist examine it and drain it. Some people can't wait for the dentist. You can try and massage the gum tissue with your finger to try and pop the bubble, but if it does not break, DO NOT force it. Do not use a toothbrush, toothpick, or anything else to try and burst the bubble.

Your gum tissue will need time to heal. You will notice a difference in a few days if the infection is beginning to clear. (5 to 7 days) But can take up to 2 weeks to heal.

Abscess...?

A couple of days ago I bumped by gums with the end of my toothbrush.

You know, like if you're brushing too fast and you bump your gums?

Anyway, the area I bumped only feels painful when I touch it;

How would I know if it was infected or something?

Would I get a fever from how it is now?

Tooth/gum abscess home remedy?

No judgement here, only kindness :)
I'm a dental hygienist. First off, before anyone else starts answering this, I'm gonna tell you right now..DO NOT USE ASPIRIN. I don't know if you can anyhow since you're pregnant (I doubt it, unless things have changed since I had my babies) but folks are still trying to endorse that old wives tale of putting an aspirin on your tooth or gums. DON'T DO IT!! It causes an acid burn on the tissue and you'll be in alot worse pain later on!
You need to call your OB/GYN and have them give you an antibiotic. An abcess is an infection and you have to get rid of it. It sounds like you've done all the other things to treat the symptoms but you need to get rid of the source. An antibiotic will get rid of the infection FOR AWHLE but until you can get find what's causing the abcess and fix it you will be at risk for the abcess to continue. An abcess can "tunnel" a way through the tissue and drain itself, looks kinda like a little pimple on the gum tissue that will leak a little bit of pus if you push on it (sorry to be gross!) If it's draining, there usually isn't any pain. The problem is when the abcess isn't draining, it's basically a ball of pus inside the bone under the tooth that is trying to expand and swell but it can't because it's surrounded by hard bone, so it's the pressure of this swelling that causes such horrible pain.
The first thing any dentist would do for you, after an xray and exam, is prescribe antibiotics, so you can can skip right to that part via your OB/GYN. Then, you need to find dental treatment that you can afford. Check with your local health dept. to see if they can recommend anyone. Also, if you live anywhere near a dental school, please check them out. The students do excellent work and it's usually free or very low cost. Good luck to you!

I just popped my dental abscess. Advice?

Ouch! Well, either you were on the wrong antibiotic, or didn’t take it long enough as it sounds like if you restarted it you had some left?I can’t imagine doing what you did with the syringe and needle! I’m sure flushing it out relieved some of the pressure, but you probably pushed some of the bacteria back up in there, and caused some inflammation. Infection causes inflammation generally, so you are going to remain swollen.Call the dentist and tell them what is going on. Or else, find another dentist, and don’t go poking yourself with a needle

Does pus/abscess in pocket of gum will heal naturally?

I had toothache 2 weeks ago and I got antibiotics, drug for swelling gum and pain killer. After a week consuming all those drug, my toothache gone but the problem is my gum swollen and I assume it's just like gum pocket pus.

Do I need to squeeze this pus pocket to remove the pus or it will naturally heal by itself? I cannot go to dentist since I am at a very rural area for a month. Can I stand with this situation for a month? Because I really2 worry about my gum condition even though it doesn't cause any pain.

The gum become swollen, smooth and filled with something, perhaps pus. I hope I got some positive feedback and experience from people that already gone through this situation.

What will smoking weed do when having a tooth abcess, not a bad one but still an abcess, what should i do?

This is not intended to sound harsh, but a reality check.
1. My bet is that you are spending your money for pot, and not for regular dental care. Stop buying pot, go see a dentist instead
2. smoking pot, or anything, increases your risk of infection and poor wound healing by effecting blood flow. So yes, smoking pot wtih an infection increases the risk that the infection wont heal and can possibly even spread.
3.You pot heads need to look at the toll your habit creates for other societies. I pity our neighbors in Mexico. US is the source of THIER drug violence. yet not one ploitician has the guts to address all of our poor, recreational drug users...sorry for the tangent, just an fyi
