Is My Thesis Statement Too General Is It More Of A Fact Than An Argument

Thesis statement help!!!!! (grade 9)?

"The media has the ideal look of women being skinny for them to look attractive.
So people try to follow the media and might want to become skinny therefore not eating properly."

I can't help you with a thesis statement, but you might want to explore the motivations for the media to present skinny women as being attractive.

In general, models are skinny because it means they can wear essentially anything. If the clothes are too big, they just pull the clothes tight and quickly sew it up. A woman who is not skinny cannot fit into the smaller sized clothes.

So, models being skinny is essentially about making money for the clothing manufacturers.

Now, why would the media go along with this? Keep in mind that the media (magazines, newspapers, TV shows) all want to make money too. If they are in opposition to the idea that skinny women are the most attractive, do you think clothing manufacturers will buy advertising space in their magazines?

Cynical? No, just truthful. I loved teaching, but I would not have done it for free. Money drives pretty much all actions in this here society thing we have going.

Is this a good thesis statement or a fact statement?

How can you say so??? evil can take over any of them!
So, this statement is not justified!

Violence in the media thesis and argument?

I would look at violence in comics, on TV, and in the newspaper.

If you have never opened a children' comic, go to your local Library. You could do a whole thesis on them.

TV I would take the cartoons as they give the crudest expression of violence. News is another avenue to advertise crime and abuse under the guise " that people have a right to know what goes on".( Common sense tells us that the majority of people are productive and good willed but these never reach the media. Can you develop that?)
While you are at it, what part does the media play in encouraging violence by disseminating so much information about it? There, that is a great point. I think the media is irresponsible. I was horrified by the abuse in kids' comics.

This is a bit of a mishmash. Hope you find something useful.

Can someone help me write a thesis statement?

To write a thesis first follow these basic key pointsAnswer the QuestionOmit “I think” or “I believe”Avoid listing reasons (no “because”)Thesis goes in the introducing paragraph. For example, if you were to be asked the question “Who is the most important person in your life?” You thesis would be “The most important person in my life is my dad.” But that’s just basic. To have it advanced without using the world because you use acknowledge the opposition. Acknowledging your opposition is basically what it says, use a counter claim in your thesis.Again if you were to use the acknowledge your opposition, you would consider these few stepsIf you are talking with your parents, and you tell them that your dad is the most important person in your life, what might your mom have to say about that?If your mom argues against you, she is your opposition. You have to state your thesis in a way that shows your mom you’re not just forgetting about her...that you’ve considered her as an option, but your dad is just more important. So your advanced thesis would like “Although my mom is incredibly important to me, my dad is the most important person in my life.”Hope this helped!!
