Is Pre-calculus An Elective In Texas High Schools

How can I graduate early from high school?

Perhaps the most important issue to consider is - what do you want to do after you graduate. If you want to work, you may be too young for numerous jobs. If you want to go to college, consider in which colleges you’re interested, which major and what high school course work would help you for these majors.I graduated high school early, at the end of my junior year, because my situation at home was difficult. My parents were fighting, blamed it on me, and threatened to kick me out of the house. I offered to finish high school a year early, and leave in a few months. However, I really did not take course work that would have helped me in college (I attended Reed college, a tough school). In high school, I had time for only geometry, trig, and algebra 2, but not pre-calc, which I would have taken my senior year. If I’d had pre-calc (or better yet, HS calc - not offered then), it would have been very useful for my college courses. Also, I’d taken biology and chemistry, but not physics. Again, taking HS physics would have made my college course load easier.I did well in high school - in my junior year, I had the top scores, in my school of about 2,000 students, in both the math and English SAT tests, as well as a 5 on my English AP exam. (The only AP course offered at the time in my high school in California in 1969).If you can take courses at a nearby college, you may make friends there with whom you are more compatible. This could help you decide on a college major, and better prepare you for college studies.Good luck!

What is the best Calculator for Algebra 2, FST Functs. Statistics Trigonometry, Pre Calculus, and AP Calculus?

the TI-84 plus silver is the best calculator for these courses that u are talking about. its a little bit more expensive than the ti-83, but it has 2.5 times the ram and 9X the storage of a ti-83. it is very easy to use and it is widely accepted. i think u can use it in most courses and standardized tests. if u are looking for a more powerful, more functional calculator, get the ti-89 titanium. however, i wouldnt recommend it because, it is more expensive, harder to use, and most importantly, usually not allowed on tests, which defeats the whole purpose of the calculator. go with the ti-84 silver. i strongly recommend it. i used it for my entire high school career. it has never done me wrong.

American School Subjects?

Classes vary from school to school, district to district, and state to state, but as a freshman/sophomore in American schools you can pretty much count on having to take the following classes:

English (usually contemporary or American lit. in 9th/classical or British lit. in 10th grade) Must have 4 years credit.

Math (usu. Algebra I in 9th and Geometry in 10th or Geometry in 9th and Alg. II in 10th) Must have 3 years credit, but going up to 4 in Texas in for class of 2011 and later.

Science (usu. Intro to Physics/Chem or Biology in 9th and Chemistry or Biology in 10th) Must have 3-4 years credit, including Physics.

History (usu. World Geography in 9th and World History in 10th) Must have 4 years credit.

Foreign Language (almost everyone offers Spanish--some exclusively. Other common languages offered are French, Latin, German and in larger schools, Mandarin, Japanese, or Russian) Must have 2-3 years credit

PE (although may be substituted with extracurricular athletic activities such as Band, team/individual sports, or ROTC) Must have 1 1/2 years of credit

Fine Arts (Band/Visual Arts/Performing Arts) Must have 1 yr. credit.

Keyboarding and Speech (1/2 year credit each)

The rest are electives--some schools have 8 classes/semester, others only 7.
