Is The Pain All In My Head .

Random sharp pains in my head?

ive been having these random sharp pains all over my head all day. I haven't had nausea or blurring vision or anything. I just took advil. Its sometimes on my sides, back, top and my forehead and its sharp and annoying. Should I be worried?

Pain in eye, cheek, ear, jaw and head!?

It is definitely sinusitis. That's inflammation of your sinus passages, all of them that go all over and across the face. Everyone's sinus cavities are all shaped differently and are unique to the individual.

You don't need painkillers. What you need is a decongestant as well as antibiotics. For sinus pain, regular painkillers will never work. You need a decongestant because of pressure build up.

The inflammation from your sinusitis is possibly from infection due to your congestion being overactive and not treated properly.

You have 4 different main sinus passages or "areas".
The Frontal, Ethmoid, Maxillary, and Sphenoid.

If it gets bad, yes it can start to infect your mouth because the inflammation from infection is spreading further. It can also start to even make your upper teeth hurt! Other common symptoms are fatigue, decreased sense of smell and or taste, cough, sore throat, bad breath, headache, pain when bending, and fever.

It could be that you have had this for 7 times in a year because the doctor you are seeing is not treating it correctly or you have seasonal allergies or allergies to things in your environment that cause you to have such a terrible reaction and you get the infection from it by the drainage and the areas being inflammed for too long due to this.

These are the things you should go talk to him about.
1. a good decongestant.
2. strong antibiotics
3. allergy tests to determine if you need to have shots done.

You might not have had allergies in the past but you can develop new allergies over time. That's why I'm telling you you should probably be tested just in case. It's just a blood test now so it's not a big deal as it was decades ago. :)

If it is not actually severe enough for allergy shots then you should talk to your doctor about a daily allergy medication that you can take. If you use a nose spray that is OTC (over the counter) do not use it more than 3 days in a row and then give your sinuses a time to relax. Otherwise, the OTC nose spray will actually make the sinus tissue inflame and you'll feel worse. (It's how they make it.) A good daily nose spray that is prescription is something like Nasonex. It works fairly well and can be used everyday without causeing inflammation.

Hope that helps you. :)

Someone told me that pain is all in your head..........?

yes and no , if you are real disciplined or have a great imagination ,you can distract yourself or get hypnotized to not feel the pain ,but from personal experience and surviving injuries in a car accident , those people are so full of sh%YT, they have sympathy but not empathy for you, and have no idea ,how real your pain is ,and just cause they read a damn book ,they think that they are experts, and feel free, to invalidate, your physiologically real pain ,and will never appreciate ,what you are experiencing, until they find themselves ,whining and crying in agony ,that they had previously told you ,was all in your head, technically all reality is in your head ,that is where our brains process info, that does not negate reality, anymore than it negates pain and you let your ignorant friends or doctors or coworkers or whomever you know ,that they need to keep their fallicious logic to themselves, and kiss your @$$, I hope you feel better soon my friend, narcotics do not work for eveyone, that is why some people with certain painful conditions are trying to legalize medical marijuana

Upper left back pain when I turn my head left ?

Pinched muscles in your back are causing the pain and to get rid of it you have to free up the muscles in your back and here's how to free them up:
Back:
(do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder, fingers over the back and the palm in the front and firmly pull down on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you reach your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

Flank Pain?

I think you can rule out kidney involvement. This type of flank pain come with fever and chills your pain pattern doesn't fit anyway. Varicella zoster (shingles) has a rash. Rule that out. That leaves spinal arthritis, disk disease and muscle spasm. Muscle spasm is the most likely. It's not in your head after all, it's in your flank. If the pain is momentary or lasts a few minutes, ignore it as best you can or apply heat. If it lasts for 30 minutes or more, use one of the new adhesive heat patches available OTC. You can also speak to your doctor about this and inquire about the advisability of using Baclofen, to prevent spasm.

Is there a way to get over paintball pain?

ok first of all, dont wear a chest gaurd
you will only be made fun of
second, wear what protective gear you will, but dont wear too much, or you will never get over the roadblock.
the first time i ever went, i was decked out in elbow pads, all that good stuff.
i was still afraid the second time i went, so i decided to go in shorts and a t-shirt.
got shot up a lot, and sure it stung a little, but it wasn't bad. the pain is all in your head. just get shot a few times, you will realize it doesnt hurt, and it will go away.
after, you can limit your gear to only what you really need: mask, pants, maybe jersey.

Can clenching your teeth cause shooting pain in your head?

YES, clenching can cause muscle spasms which in turn can give rise to trigger points which in turn will refer pain to different parts of the body. Different muscles refer pain to different parts of the body. In your case, the culprit is the sternocleidomastoid muscle (the neck muscle that bulges out when you turn the head) which refers pain to the back of the head, top of the head, and to the temples.

You can self diagnose TMJ by inserting your pinkies into your ear canals with the soft portion facing forward and opening wide and closing. If you feel clicking then you have a TMJ disorder and should find a dentist who knows how to treat it (not all do) but avoid oral surgeons and traditional orthodontists, trust me. There are basically 2 types of TMJ - Primary and Secondary. Primary TMJ is due to an internal derangement or anatomic condition while Secondary TMJ is due to external factors (like clenching and grinding) that pushes a normal TMJ into a pathologic state. The big difference between the two is with Primary TMJ the jaw joint is "broken" to begin with and with Secondary TMJ, the jaw joint is normal to begin with.
