Is The World Getting Warmer In Order To Use Statistics To Determine Whether Global Warming Is

Is the world getting warmer? In order to use statistics to determine whether global warming is happening, what data do we need?

i have a contradictory piece of data. here in the uk, we've had the warmest start to autumn since the 1960's. at that point everyone jumps up and concludes that global warming is certainly responsible for the warmer weather. the only problem is, since the 1960's. this peice of the statemnt suggests that warm starts to atumn have been previsouly recorded. it's true that the world was at top notch back then with factories spewing out smog. but back then there where hundreds of thousands more trees and less cars. with humans beng a little more considerate to the enviroment today, it can only mean that the sporadic changes in weather are simply discrepancies.
ultimatly, the bigger picture is the sea ice in arctic melting.

Why is global warming so important?

Global warming is where the earth gets warmer. In the past many global warmings happen and are usually followed by an ice age or colder time, but this time many scientist believe it will stay warmer due to many carbon dioxide emissions from power plants and cars. Getting warmer will be stressful enough for some people, especially people in Africa and other deserts, but that is not the real problem. When the world gets warmer by a couple degrees, only 1 event will happen and that event will be enough to wipe us all. The polar ice will melt and flood major cities near coasts. Since of the high rise in water and heat, hurricanes will be more often and many polar region animals will have to move to a different place or die. After polar ice melts, most likely the world will go into a worldwide panic which should be stressful to people to the point they might suicide. All with the extra amount of fresh water the Atlantic current will be corrupted and lets just say all of the world's water will be very mixed up.

Do you agree that global warming is the biggest threat facing the world today?

Although global climate change has the potential to have a major impact on human society and culture, I don't think it is the biggest threat facing the well being of all life on Earth.

The biggest threat would probably be habitat loss. From the well-publicized tropical rain forest ecosystems, to the virtually unpublicized, but far more endangered temperate prairie ecosystems, to the boreal forest, and even the great ocean fisheries, mankind is over-utilizing and destroying all of them, paving them over, building Wal-Marts and gigantic mono-culture farms and tree orchards on top of them.

We are ravaging the biodiversity of the planet, and the ability of wildlife to sustain itself. Our mono-culture agriculture is heavily dependent on chemical fertilizers that run off into our water courses and choke our lakes and streams with algae and weeds, deplete the soil of natural nutrients, and leave them wide open to massive outbreaks of pest insects. This includes not just our food crops, but also our forest 'management' practises as well.

Many of the great fisheries are depleted so far they may never recover, which could also drive many other species of fish and birds into extinction.

These unsustainable practises have a much greater potential to threaten life on Earth, including humans, than even the ice caps melting and drowning all of the coastal cities under 100 m of water, while the interior of the United States turns into a giant desert.

And if we don't do something to protect some of these habitats soon, it will likely be too late.

What is global warming?

Think you have double posted but anyway:

It has nothing to do with o-zone layer depletion

Previous answer:

Global warming is the increase in average global temperatures over a long period of time.

Global climate change is the correct scientific term as too many people focus on the warming and not enough on the global. I will give a brief (as possible) explanation. First I will define something important the difference between weather and climate. Climate is the long term statistical changes in meteorological factors over a long period of time (minimum 30 years). Weather is the short term localised changes in meteorological factors. Weather and climate are two different things.

The climate changes naturally over time going through periods of warming and cooling and these are dependent on a number of factors. The main two factors are the greenhouse effect (google it if you don't know what it is) and solar activity. There are many many other factors that contribute to climate change as well.

Anthropogenic global warming is the theory that man made CO2 emissions are causing the current warming trend. CO2 naturally fluxes in the atmosphere over time and this leads to changes in climate. However we have added in vast quantities of CO2 that have speeded up the natural process.

I can write more if you want do you need more detail?

@Ashley: Please go and do some research into climate change. Hell wikipedia global warming. It has nothing to do with the hole in the ozone layer.

Why is global warming a problem?

humans make things. in making things, we make pollution. its a by-product of the computer youre looking at, the shoes on your feet, the car you got here in, every single thing you do, unless you live in the bush, and you eat bananas.
this layer of pollution pours out of where we push it from and settles in the air around us.
this warms the earth. the sun heats the earth, then the heat can't escape. somehow though, i think you know this.

the thing is, put all the "side effects" aside for a minute, all the wonderful things listed below that are happening to our planet, because we decided we like nice cars to drive in.
and just look at the sky where you live...
look at it.
kids are growing up now- not in the future, not a dream in fifty years to be afraid of, kids are growing up now and the sky is not blue. the sky is not blue because the ocean is not blue.
and thats cause the sky isnt blue. its a bit of a cycle.
and its not a natural cycle, that goes around and around.
its cause you and i drove here in a car and decided that little bit more, that we dont care if the sky is not blue.

go ahead kids, draw your family and your house.
heres mum and dad and my brother and sister. and my house with the red tiles and my yellow front door. and thats the grass. and that brown/grey stuff.
thats the air.
i breathe in.
to my lungs.

What is global warming exactly?

Global warming is when the earth tempature rises, heating the atmosphere and altering the natural balance of things. It only takes a few degrees on a global aspect, to cause devastating affects on the planet.

In turn, could affect fault lines creating earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, fires, floods, an increase in tornados and hurricanes, and more...

If it were to happen, would probably be the opposite of the ice age ... instead of being cold, the earth would get very warm .

Our pollution issues add to this, wholes in the biosphere allow more heat in from the sun, and then the chemical pollants act as a magnifier increasing the temperature. Add to that, all the microwaves from satelite usage - it's a huge issue.

What is global warming?

If you want to acquire supply cash for local weather study, do you feel that you'll be able to get a cheque if you happen to say," I want the supply, as I feel that I can end up that the figures that the present paradigm is situated upon are fallacious" ? The best environmentalist, David Bellamy, has been silenced, and refused airtime. There continues to be no established causative hyperlink among the quantity of Co2 within the surroundings, and an expand in worldwide temperatures. The WWWF pics of the polar bears swimming have been taken within the Arctic summer season; while the ice cap partly melts, as they could not stand up to photo within the iciness. The ice used to be too thick! The East-Anglian uni study figures. "Oh! The figures do not fit our expectancies. Oh good. Keep quiet. Because we all know that we're proper." When the perception, and the religion is extra fundamental than squarely going through the official doubts of plenty of non supply-supported scientists, technological know-how has been superceded by way of devout zealots. As Oliver Cromwell colourfully stated." I pray thee, within the bowels of Christ, recollect that thou mayest be fallacious."

What is something that almost nobody knows about global warming?

The best individual and collectively peer-reviewed economic models show implementing the Paris treaty agreement will cost $1 trillion to $2 trillion every year from 2030 by increasing energy costs and thereby slightly slowing GDP growth. Yet this will do almost nothing to solve climate change. It is widely accepted by climate scientists that keeping temperature rises below 2C requires a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to almost 6000 gigatonnes of CO2. The UN organizer of the Paris Agreement estimates that if every country makes every single promised carbon cut between 2016 and 2030, emissions will be cut by the equivalent of 56 gigatonnes of CO2 by 2030. Paris leaves 93 percent of the problem in place.…Actually, since none of the countries have met their commitments for 2016 or 2017, it is impossible for them to meet the 56 GT goal. In fact, the daily rise in emissions has already exceeded that goal. In other words, the Paris treaty agreement will have accomplished nothing significant by 2030 despite having been signed by 190 nations.====================….and now for something really wild…..We are traveling at about 2.23 million miles per hour thru space. We have been traveling thru a vast space dust cloud for a very long time. This dust cloud is not consistently dense so we pass in and out of dense parts of the cloud. It is very difficult to detect these variations in density until we are experiencing them so it is difficult to predict too far into the past or future. However, it is POSSIBLE, that ice ages and global warming might be influenced, at least, in part, by this dust cloud passing between us and the sun and its interaction with our atmosphere.Consider this: relatively minor changes in the sun’s energy arriving on earth can make a big difference in overall climate - especially when combined with our axis wobble. It might be that what we have been calling “normal” sunlight for the past few centuries is actually reduced by this space cloud of dust dimming the sun’s light. Our global warming might be simply as a result of us emerging into a less dense portion of this space dust cloud and the sun returning to its normal radiation levels.Since it can take many centuries to pass thru a portion of this cloud or it can change in and out rather quickly, yet we have very little ability to tell what is normal and what is not, this is a topic that remains only in the realm of speculation.

Who is currently the world's greatest stock trader?

Edit: My attention has been drawn to the fact that it's possible that Tim Morge does not have the credentials he stated. This obviously leads to suspicion about other things he has stated. Please do your own due diligence before spending your resources. Trust but verify. My new suggestion is to watch and read everything Linda Bradford Raschke has put out. She has been in the game as long as anyone and has a verifiable track record.Warren Buffet isn’t even a stock trader, he’s a deal maker and a shark. Moving on.As far as best trader on the planet it’s probably Tim Morge of Market Geometry. Phds in Economics/Finance, Physics and Mathematics from Booth. Traded at some small shops that you may have heard of: JP Morgan, Commodities Corp, and Goldman.I remember him commenting during one of his IB seminars that he had taken a break after his last year returns of ~450%. The next question that should pop into your mind is how much money is he moving? Did he take $100 and turn it into $550?He trades for about a half dozen sovereign wealth funds, carrying billions in positions. He trades on time frames from 20 minute bar and tick charts to monthly. He trades corn and he trades Google. He caught most of the big move in Gold.He is widely considered the best risk manager in the trading world. He hasn’t release his Gain to Pain ratio or Calmar, but I would bet my last dollar that his GtoP is north of 4:1.What’s his edge? Is he using some exotic algo to exploit the market? Nope. His main tool is the Median Line or Andrews Pitchfork. It is the only TA tool that has statistical probability. He then reads the market as a dynamic entity that goes from building up energy to releasing energy. He is a chartist, and probably the best in the world.
