What was Vince McMahon's Greatest Accomplishment?

Wow, good question but hard to call.

Vince McMahon comes from a lineage of wrestling magnates, so naturally he would know how to manage WWF/WWE as good as he did. While the Attitude Era may not be his creation, he was the one who publicized the style, concept and edgy-ness of it all. Wrestlers like Shawn Michaels, Triple H, the Undertaker, Stone Cold and the Rock helped make it a worldwide phenomenon.

He helped shape the wrestling landscape as we know it today, and shift it's territory to include the movie industry in some way (even though the movies are bad, it still helped propel WWE's global popularity).

He has also created matches like Hell in a Cell, Punjabi Prison, and Elimination Chamber.

One event that must be mentioned as it helped cement his ultimate heel persona in the 90's and partially launch the Attitude Era was the Montreal screwjob. Sure; it was despicable, vile, and deceitful, but without it, Vince McMahon would have never been the same megalomaniac, badass, tyrant chairmain that he was (which also factored in greatly in the classic Austin/McMahon feud at the prime of the Attitude Era).

What I think is the magnum opus of his though; is his brilliance at using the heel persona and style to push newcomers. Andre the Giant, Sgt. Slaughter, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Stone Cold, Randy Orton, and John Cena were all pushed greatly and laid off a lot of the groundwork for their careers as heels, which in turn helped them establish a fanbase and popularize themselves.

Vince McMahon may not be a "good guy" or a benevolent employer; in fact, he can be as obnoxious as they come, but does that detract from his pure wrestling genius? I guess the answer is a resounding "hell no".

Is Daytona 500 the most important race in NASCAR?

The Daytona 500 - held in late February of each year - is NASCAR's season opener. It is the first race each year of what is now a 26 race regular season, which is followed by a 10 race "Chase" for the Sprint Cup Championship. As far as determining a champion, it is not all that important due to it being very first race in a 36 race season. However the Daytona 500 is important because of it's historical significance to the NASCAR community. Winning the Daytona 500 is a prestigious honor and accomplishment for most drivers. Many drivers have long, illustrious and successful careers yet never accomplish winning the Daytona 500. It is often referred to as "The Super Bowl of Motorsports" as it draws a lot of worldwide media attention. It also represents the beginning of a new season of motor racing for automotive fans and enthusiasts in North America - consider it a first sign of spring. For NASCAR fans in particular, the Daytona 500 represents a fresh start and a clean slate for their favorite drivers, who race for points and wins in each race in an effort to qualify for the 10 race "Chase for the Sprint Cup" which begins in mid September and ends in November at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida.

How accurate is House of Cards?

I will admit that I often spend weekends after each House of Cards season is released binge-watching the show for hours. But I watch it because it is entertaining, not because it reminds me of my day-to-day.The show is accurate in one way – it portrays the shape of the President’s office correctly – but mostly, it is far from what I have experienced in Washington. The biggest difference is the level of cunning cynicism the show features. I know it may be hard to imagine given how broken and gridlocked our politics truly are, but from the White House to, yes, Congress, the government is filled with hard-working, idealistic public servants working incredibly hard on tough issues, trying to make people’s lives better and move the country, and our world, forward. Some people might have different ideas about what progress looks like, and some are cynical and place their short-term political interests ahead of what is good for our country. But many of them aren’t cynical and try hard to do their best. Yes, politics is messy and it can sometimes be dirty; many can do a better job of disagreeing without being disagreeable; and changing our political system in some of the ways the President outlined this February in Illinois would do a lot of good. But after seven a half years in the White House, I’ve never felt more confident in our country and the American people. I am hopeful about our future, and sure that despite our challenges, engaging our government remains essential in the journey toward perfecting our union.
