Is There A Way To Block Any And All Potential Emails From Coming To My Yahoo Inbox Unless They Are

Why is Yahoo so inept at blocking spam from my Yahoo email account? I get the same “Lonely Married Women” email every day. I understand that the spam email address changes every day, but why can’t Yahoo spam check the subject?

Actually, Yahoo! blocks a ton of spam. We have a team working very hard on this challenge that we all face. Check out this realtime view here: Visualizing Yahoo! Mail (make sure you click on the "reveal blocked spam" button) to see how much spam is being blocked at any moment. We block 4 messages for every 1 message we deliver.Still, you are seeing spam in your inbox which means that some comes though despite our attempts. But you can do things about this too.Remember to set the spam filter on your email client. If you are using the Yahoo! web client go to the Options tab and check to see that you have spam set to be filtered out and deleted. When spam comes though, please mark it as spam. We pick up that signal and it helps improve our algorithms. This way we can block more spam in the future for you and others.General tip -- make sure not to post your email address in full on a web site. I saw a report once that showed how spambots harvest email addresses from blogs and site by searching for "yourname@host.com" pattern but they don't search for "yourname 'at' host.com"  So you can reduce your risk of inviting spam by making this small change. If you get a spam mail, don't click on the links. This sends the signal that you are a real person who clicks on spam. Just delete these emails. I'm sure you don't need the pills anyways.Did you know that Yahoo! also give you disposable email addresses that you could use, say if you are doing online shopping?  This is another way to make sure that your email address is only used by your real friends, and that websites only see addresses you don't care as much about.Maybe these tips will help your emailing experiences. You've been with Yahoo! for 10 years, we hope you enjoy our services for at least 10 more too!

Emails won't delete in yahoo mail, they keep reappearing in my inbox?

I click on an email and then click on delete. Presto, gone. And then it's back in my inbox. sometimes up to five times. I click on trash and click to empty it, sometimes the trash empties and sometimes it doesn't. If the trash empties, it seems to take the email permanently, but it shouldn't come back in the first place when I initially delete it. I'm using Firefox, if that makes a difference.

How can i block an entire domain in Yahoo! mail?

Go to Options > Mail Options > Spam. In the Add Block field, enter the name of the domain that you want to block, such as "domain.org" (without the quotes of course). Then click Add. This should block everything from that domain.
(If you are still a user of the original Y.Mail, go instead to Options > Block Addresses.)

Is it possible to invalidate my Yahoo mail account?

Honestly, NO because to do this you need to terminate your account and if you terminate your account you can't access for all yahoo facilities using that ID. But you still can block those emails and best way is, do not open unknown senders’ emails just keep spamming them.
and Make changes on your Spam protection.
Go to Options
Click on spam protection
Mark Spam + Not Spam Section
Check mark on
Add the sender's email address to my blocked addresses list
Click on save changes
now when you receive any such types of emails just spam them then will be blocked automatically.
Good luck!

How do I know if someone blocked my Yahoo email?

When you add an email address to your blocked email addresses list there is no notification sent to the blocked email address in question.Whenever your blocked contacts send you a message, they will not receive a failure notice confirming their message was not delivered. Since the email in question will never arrive to your inbox, you will not know they have sent you a message. This works the same if someone has blocked you. I appreciate you giving me the opportunity to help you!

Can I block all emails from a particular country?

I found this on Yahoo Answers. Hope it helps:

Usually just clicking on SPAM when you receive the message will direct it to your SPAM FOLDER and any subsequesnt emails from this person will go there...if that doesn't work try below....

If you are using yahoo classic OR all new mail.....
Go to "Options" It is above your email
Click on "Mail Options"
Click on SPAM
Enter the address you want to block
Click on “Add Block”

On occasion the sender changes their name BEFORE @ so block that DOMAIN the following way...

If you are receiving several emails from the same domain, but various ID's, the easiest way to stop them is to enter the domain into your "Blocked Addresses".

In Yahoo! mail, to block the senders domain (hotmail.com):
◘ Click on "Options, upper right corner of mail page".
◘ Then "Mail Options".
◘ Click on "Spam" from the list on the left.
◘ In the "Add a blocked address" box, enter the domain (only the part of the email address AFTER @, do not include @).
◘ Click the "Add" button.

Now, any email from that domain, no matter what ID is used to send it, will be blocked.

How do you mass delete emails on Yahoo Mail?

Presuming you’re using Yahoo Mail on your PC/laptop, this is the method that I use. Also I find it easier to use the old Yahoo email, rather than the “new”.Sort your emails in “Ascending Order”. That way, you’re looking at the oldest first.Look through and make certain that any email you’ve starred or emails from family, etc. that you might want to keep — mark those and put them in a Keep folder. Otherwise, click the Select All button. Then click the Delete button. Or even better the Spam button. This is not a very speedy way to go, because Yahoo shows you only about 50 messages at a time. But after doing this 20 or so times, you’ll find you’ve made quite a dent in those emails that build up.I’ve heard there’s a way to filter e-mails that are over, say, 6 months old, but I can’t find the setting. If anybody knows where that is, please let me know.Thank you, and best of luck!

Is there any possible way to recover a lost Yahoo! Mail draft?

Not that I know of.The thing to figure out is why is it lost? Was it deleted? Was it sent? Was it moved by accident? Did it just disappear from your ‘drafts’ folder? If you are worried about it happening again, you can always compose a message to yourself, that way, if you accidentally hit send, there will be one in your inbox, and one in your sent (if you have turned on the feature to keep sent messages). You can then pick up the message from either place, and forward it to the person you really wish to send it to.

How do I stop getting spam emails and advertisement emails (Yahoo Mail)?

Spam can get to you in different ways and it’s important to know those to avoid spam as much as possible:you subscribed to some online websites that resell your email address to dodgy marketing companies. Note that this is not illegal in many countries if this behaviour is specified in their terms & conditions (we all know that nobody read them, they know too)you subscribed to some online websites but never read their newsletters - due to a lack of interaction with those emails, the spam checker will think that are unwanted emails, therefore it’ll move them into spam.spammers can generate random email addresses to send emails, sometimes they create yours and you get dangerous emails. The spam checker anyway will protect you putting those into the spam folder. Now, for the 3rd point there is nothing that you can do but trust your email service provider (ESP), in this case Yahoo Mail, that is marking an email as spam for you.For the first two points, you can act in this way:If in your inbox and spam folders you find legitimate newsletters that you are not interested in, take your time to go through them and click on the UNSUBSCRIBE link.(Please, use the unsubscribe link and not the spam button for real companies. Sending them to spam would potentially ruin their business as their reputation will get lower, potentially marking their company as dangerous.)Use filters! - Few people know that modern ESPs give you the possibility to automatically filter and organise incoming emails. For Yahoo Mail, enter your settings and find the section FiltersHere, give a name to your filterSpecify the rules (i.e. if you know a specific email address is used to send you spam, write that address in the “From” field)Select the destination for the email (Delete Items if you want to automatically get rid of the incoming spam)Another useful resource is the Yahoo Mail guideline for spam: Manage spam and mailing lists in Yahoo Mail

How can I do block unwanted email from my gmail account?

Since email is not controlled by a specific company, it is impossible to not receive emails from someone, similar to a phone call. However, gmail offers some very nice filtering features that will let you decide what you want to do with that email after it arrives in your mailbox, just like you can block a phone number on your phone. If you go to Settings, then the Filters and Blocked Address tab, you can set up filters to automate processing of certain emails that correspond to the rules that you selected.
