Is there a way to find out what law firm represents a company?

Agree with Cliff that most companies use a wide variety of law firms.  If the company is public and you want to see who is their outside counsel for corporate work, then I'd go to U.S. Securities and Exchange Commissionn and look on Edgar for:1.  If they've been public only recently, their S-1 and look on the cover page what the company's law firm is.2.  If they've been public awhile, I'd pull their S-8 and look for the exhibit that is the legal opinion and see which law firm issued it.3.  If you pull up the S-8 and their inhouse counsel did the opinion (not super common but for a big seasoned issuer, this can happen), then I'd search for  a recent S-3 or S-4 and look for the opinion because almost all companies would have an outside lawyer to the opinion for an S-3 or an S-4.

Are there any law schools out there that prepare students for solo practice?

Hamline University School of Law (soon to merge with William Mitchell College of Law to be Mitchell|Hamline School of Law) does an amazing job of preparing attorneys to be practice ready, including solo practice.  They are also currently laying the groundwork for a solo practice incubator program for post-graduate attorneys to get their feet wet in a lower-risk setting.  There is a great emphasis on pro-bono work and clinical work, which provides amazing opportunities for on-the-job training.  They even offer a semester in residence with participating attorneys so you can learn the ropes of running a solo practice.  If you're interested in law school and you'd like to check us out, please send me a message and I'll put you in touch with our wonderful admissions people for more information.

Is it true that there are no laws in international waters?

Actually there is.International waters are areas belonging to no one. But even though you’d committed a crime in there, you will certainly end up in jail for many reasons.First of all, there is a thing called universal competence which means countries can prosecute you if you committed great infractions like crime against Humanity, War crime etc. Secondly, more than half of the earth (124 countries) signed the treaty creating the International Criminal Court that can prosecute you for great infractions too.Thirdly, you can be prosecuted by the country of nationality of the victim because of the citizenship of this very victim etc. That’s some examples but there is a lot more, i invite you to read some International Criminal Law, that is really interesting and you will see by yourself that we are fucked, our unicorn battle in international waters will have to wait.P.S: To be recognised guilty, you have to be proved so and that is an other issue mate!

Is it against the law to have a funeral on Sunday... In Indiana?

There are no laws against it.

However most cemeteries will not do burials on Sunday. They charge way higher fees for Saturday bburials than they do for weekdays to discourage Saturday burials also.

Are there any TN laws against a 12 year old girl sharing a room with her 3 yr old step sister?

I agree with you that it is not an absurd question -- and half of those "negative" answers are partially wrong. As far as Family Law, there is not a single law in any state regarding children sharing a bedroom with other children of either sex at any age, or with their parents, or anyone else.

And there are laws for that stuff when you foster kids or adopt, so maybe that's why you thought they'd apply here, too? For example, I babysat my friend's niece for years. But when her parents took in a foster child, I had to go through this whole approval process before I could babysit the foster child -- or even visit the home! And I think there was something in all that about the foster child being required to have her own bedroom, but I could be wrong. It was a few years ago.

As for the girls sharing a room, I think it's a good idea. Too many kids are not being properly socialized anymore, not being taught to really share or to sacrifice anything or to just put their own egos aside for other people. I think it will be good for them both.

Good luck, and I hope that it all works out well!
