Is There Any Relation Between Attack On Titan And Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood

Fullmetal Alchemist and attack on titan?

Fullmetal Alchemist actually has two anime adaptions. Both are great, but are very different from one another.

The first anime adaption is called Fullmetal Alchemist (2003). It was made when the original manga was still ongoing and, as a result, just adapted the first bit of the manga into its own anime-only plot.

The second anime is called Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009). It was a reboot, made to adapt the original manga in its entirety. The first 13 and a half-ish episodes reanimate content that was already adapted in the 2003 anime. Though it's still worth watching those episodes.

I strongly recommend watching them in the order that they were released:

► Fullmetal Alchemist (2003), 51 episodes long.

→ Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shamballa. This is a movie, and it is the finale to the 2003 anime. Do not watch it before you finish the series.

→ Fullmetal Alchemist: Premium OVAs. These are just short, cute/funny segments. They contain spoilers, so they should be watched after the movie. They're optional, but enjoyable.

Shorts include: State Alchemists vs Seven Homunculi, Kids, Chibi Party, and Live Action.

Now, that's everything for the original anime series, and you can movie onto...

►Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, 64 episodes

→ Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos. This is another movie, but this one is a completely pointless side-story. It's set around halfway through the series.

→ Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood OVAs: These are episodes adapted from bonus chapters in the original manga. Very much worth watching. I'm not sure where to place them all in the series, though you'd probably be safe seeing them halfway though - or you could save them as a bonus after you finish it.

Shorts include: The Blind Alchemist, Simple People, The Tale of Teacher, Yet Another Man's Battlefield

Also, if you start watching Fullmetal Alchemist and find yourself bored, still give Brotherhood a shot. They really are entirely different series, it's entirely possible to love one, and hate the other. I love both.

Isn't Attack on Titan really similar to Fullmetal Alchemist?

It seems like there are a lot of character parallels (Dr. Jaeger/Hohenheim, Mikasa/Al, Eren/Ed, Mustang/Levi, or Levi/Ed because they're both short...) Is it simply coincidence that Eren loses an arm and a leg in his first real battle with the titans? Is it also coincidence that both FMA and Attack on Titan have a character with orange hair named Jean? Isn't it strange that both Hohenheim and Dr. Jaeger go MIA for a long time and somehow seem to have considerable knowledge on the enemy? Of course, it's simply speculation, but that last part about Hohenheim and Dr. Jaeger leads me to believe that Dr. Jaeger have something to do with the creation of the titans. And perhaps creating a titan requires human sacrifice.... Once again, there's a parallel between the homunculi which resemble humans and the titan in Connie's village that resembled his mother. Am I thinking way too far into this?

Is Attack on Titan as good as FMA: Brotherhood?

I'm currently watching Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (just got done with episode 42), and words can't describe how good I think that show is. I'm honestly going to be depressed for at least a couple of days after I'm done with it lol.

I plan on watching Attack on Titan next, so my question is do you guys think it can compare to FMA, or that you think it might become as good as it?

Anime like Tokyo Ghoul, Fullmetal alchemist, and Attack on titan?

Horror, gore, and NO fanservice/romance. Want more horror than plot points, as I am very impatient right now. Code Geass is also good too. Also nothing rated for partial nudity or more. Deadman wonderland is awesome, and tokyo ghoul made me watch anime again (finally gore anime, too much boring stuff nowadays).

Most important too that the blood is realistic. No pink dangan ronpa nor making fun of killing people like cuticle tantei inaba, unless it's artstyle is serious enough.
