Whats the Average size for a Jv High school running back?

Ok, Just to get it out of the way, "Bad ***" Or w.e. is an idiot. But anyways, you seem like a speed back like me. The average size for a high school running back is about that size only a little bit heavier. Your fast and average strength. All you need to do is go to the gym, lift on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. And take protein shakes 3 times a day, every day with Saturday and Sunday off. Tuesday and Thursday should be cardio. And take amino acids also. Ive been doing this for about 4 1/2 months and i started at:
5'4 1/2
125 lbs
40 time. 4.8
Bench 90

to:

5'6
145 lbs
40 time 4.7
bench 155

BUT, You might wanna just ask your coach and whatever he tells you just set that as your goal.

P.s. Run track. That's what i did on the off-season and it helps you stay in shape, have better speed, builds up leg muscles, strengthens core, and straightens up your posture.

Hopefully this helps. :)

What does it take to be a running back in high school?

It really depends on the makeup of the team that you would like to join.  This being said, there are a few things that are important:For the purpose of this answer, I will separate running back from fullback as a position even though the tail, half, wing, and fullback are all considered running backs.  The fullback is a different animal, so we'll concentrate more on the traditional tailback or halfback 1. Speed is becoming more and more necessary in the modern game of football.  At the upper levels, a high school tailback should probably be able to run the 40 yard dash in less than 4.6 seconds.  As the schools get smaller, the times creep into the 4.9 - 5.0 range.  More than 5 seconds?  Find a different position.2. Ability to take and/or avoid a hit and break tackles.  If you go down on first impact, you won't make a very good running back.3. Vision.  Know where your guys are and where their guys are.  It makes it easier to avoid would be tacklers.4. Blocking ability.  Did you think you would always be carrying the ball, superstar?  Protect your quarterback or ride the pine.5. Hands.  You might have to catch the ball out of the backfield.  It would also be nice if you could hold onto it when being hit.6. Discipline.  This isn't backyard football.  There's a team and each player must know their role in order for the game plan to work.  You are most likely not Barry Sanders or Percy Harvin.  The kind of freelancing play that these two are capable of generally means a loss of yardage for a mere mortal.7. Strength. This speaks as much to breaking tackles and holding on to the ball as anything else.8. Fearlessness.  You will get hit, so toughen up buttercup.  For most running backs, this means to avoid the fancy dancing and hit the hole.  Do it fast. There are many other intangibles that can amplify or reduce the importance of any one of these things, but be competent in all of the above and you have a shot.  As a side note,

What is an average high school JV linebacker size?

I'm a rookie with football with no organized experience on the field. I am a 14 year old freshman in high school going to try out for JV football (next year). I know i might not start but i was wondering what the avg. linebacker size was.
I am 5'5" (i know I'm short)
I weigh 138 lb
to give you an idea of how strong or weak i am: bench 100 lb
bicep curl 40 lb
tricep pull down 40 lb
leg extention 80 lb
leg press 180 lb
last squat i did was... 120 lb (i am capable of doing more)
leg curl 60 lb
(that should be enough info.)

I know i need to work on my speed also.

To all you footballl players: what is the position you like to play the most between quarterback and linebacker?

i am also considering QB since i have a decent arm (this team needs any help they can get)

Whats the average size Runningback for a Freshman in Highschool?

Height/weight for Jv runningback?? plaese help!?

The average for any High school RB is 5'7-5'8 and about 155-170 LBS.If you played Kickoff Return and everything runningback at your size is just fine But i would suggest lifting weights and doin squats get your legs stronger and will help your ability to cut more and hit the hole harder and faster build muscle from now on buddy and you will be good, Height doesn't really matter shorter the better cuz you have a lower center of gravity and makes it harder to bring down in football remember lower the better, Look at the NFL all these 5'7-5'8 RB are owning now you see them shorter and a littler bulkier so just build your bulk lift weights and **** and i promise you will be alot better and even move up to Varsity with more weight, and you will get a little taller. If you have the heart and desire you will go far.

Good Luck buddy
