You can keep yourself healthy at regular intervals. There is no alternative to regular walking to keep the body healthy. Is 30 minutes of exercise enough?

yeah sure it could be enough, it's whatever works. if you do high-intensity cardio for 20 minutes, you'd burn more calories than doing an hour and half of moderate yoga. so do what works for you. one thing i do is i vary my work outs, so maybe one day I'll go running for an hour (like 6 miles) and then the next day I'll do half an hour of cycling. so it doesn't have to be consistent as long as you're doing something 5 days a week. another tip is to try to squeeze in a longer workout on weekends or days off because, like you, I am a student with a ton of commitments and work, so just fit in the long ones when you have time

hope i helped :D good luck

Is 1000 calories enough if you don't exercise?

Though you may not be exercising your body still burns calories. Sleeping, walking, showering, getting dressed, talking on the phone, laughing, and yes, even eating...you lose some calories. I asked my doctor this same question a few months ago, her reccommendation to me was that I should be on about a 1500 calorie diet. This allows you to intake the proper amount of food that your daily diet needs in order to survive. By going too low to a calorie diet you are actually doing more harm to your system, because your body has to look elsewhere in order to find the nutrients it needs in order to survive. Not to mention, if you don't eat the proper amount, it will actually make you gain weight. It will break your muscles down and then the muscles get turned into fat.

Is jogging enough exercise?

I used to be in awesome shape when I was younger, until I became a smoker for 6 years and let myself go. Now I'm almost 21, quit smoking a month ago, and ready for a change. I'm not overweight but am on the high end of the weight range for my age and height. If I run everyday for an hour or more, will this be a good enough start? It will be tough since I was a smoker so I wont push myself too hard, but I hope to gradually improve in time. I figure on rainy or cold days I'll do some weight lifting, ab exercises, yoga, core, etc. Whatever I feel like. What would be your recommended daily/weekly routine for me? I'm not trying to get big and ripped, just back to a more slim, athletic body.

Is exercising twice a week enough?

Everything depends on what you mean by ‘exercising’.You can slowly gain stamina and improve your muscle tone on even a half hour, one day per week body weight exercise program (like you did in high school gym class), if you are otherwise leading a physically active life and you eat a healthy diet. First, change to a nine inch dinner plate from a twelve inch plate and fill half the plate with vegetables. You will slowly lose weight and reduce your % body fat.At 2x/wk whole body workout with weights, it is possible to double your whole body weightlifting strength in under two years. I say this from personal experience. I was full time caregiver for both my parents during that time, so I did what I could. I started at 240#, about 35% overweight. Now, the workouts were not casual. They were ‘aerobic weightlifting’. I did a fifteen minute full body stretching warmup, then whole body workout reps as fast as I could, at very near my highest effort, not resting between sets and different exercises, for a steady 1–1/2 hours. I finished with a half hour on a tilted treadmill as fast as I could walk. My workout clothes were drenched when I was done.During the first six months, I didn’t gain much strength, maybe 20% higher weights. But my stamina increased. I could do twice as many sets in the same amount of time. Then I started steadily pushing up the weights. In a year, I could do double the weight, still doing the same aerobic weightlifting workout for the same amount of time.I do not look like a bodybuilder. I only dropped from 240# to 200#. But I am toned, with decent definition and under 20% body fat. I have 25 more pounds to lose, and my goal is under 15% body fat.

Is exercising 3 times a week enough?

I have the feeling that my answer is going to be a little different. Let me put it like this, if you come from a situation without training, doing one simple burpee a day increases your training rate by 100%.If you are not used to training I would advice you to start simple. Their are so many ways to revolutionize your lifestyle. Drink water for example, or start walking. People always think they should start working out like a maniac to get results and yet they are having those toughts in their couch. If you want results I recommend a lifestyle change, not a habit that you will eventually quit. Remember this: Change without compassion is manipulation. Change with compassion is inspiration. What I mean by this is that if you walk one mile each day or do one burpee, you will do them at your best effort, with full concentration. Eventually you will add miles, or burpees, you might even start running. It`s a marathon, not a spint. If you want to sprint at the finishline, you have to start slow.I hope that is answer was helpfull to you. Lots of love

Is this enough exercise for a golden retriever?

hi, so im thinking abotu getting a golden retriever, but i want to make sure i can give enough exercise. i plan on giving: 40 minute walk in the morning, training in the middle of the day, fetch in the afternoon or running around outside, and then another 40 minute walk in the evening. on the weekends id also try to bring the dog to the park as often as i could, at least every other weekend, i also live near a pretty big city with lots of dog friendly places to hang out, so my dog would also walk a lot when i went out and could bring him.
do u think this is enough exercise for the AVERAGE golden, and if it isnt what modifications do u think i should do??? thank u!!!

I walk 6.8km four days a week is that enough exercise?

6.8 km is about 4.2 miles. Since it take just over an hour you'd be walking about 4mph, which is pretty brisk. How much you burn is dependent on your metabolism. Gender and age are big factors. You are going to burn a lot more than I do as an older woman because your overall metabolism is faster.

I personally aim for a minimum of 3 miles a day at least 5 days a week (including time in the gym), and more than 5 days a week is better.

I'd say take it up a notch and try to do something else on the other days. I walk partly for exercise and partly to save bus fare. Try walking places you would normally drive to.

Is running 1.5 miles a day good enough exercise?

I run 1.5 miles pretty much daily. Most of the time i do this plus walk like 3 miles. But its been terrible weather and i pretty much can only get out early enough to run this much in the morning. Is this decent exercise for the day? Or should i be doing more daily.
