Is Vein Removal Surgery Actually A Thing

Urgernt! Please, help!!!! Varicous Vein Removal Surgery,?

Hi, I have a surgery to remove varicous veins on my leg scheduled in two weeks, and I desperately need some advice. Anyone, who has had the same surgery or knows anything about it, please, respond:
I need to know:
How lond does the surgery usually take?
Do they usually release you back home the same day?
How does the bandage changing process work? Who is supposed to to do it? You, or your doctor?
How long is the recovery period? When can you fully function again?
How many check-up visits with the doctor did you have after the surgery. Did they at least attempt to observe you, or did they just send you home and never saw you again?
How much pain?
etc.
P.S.: I am from Europe, and while in Europe similar surgery is considered very serious and they keep you in the hospital for at least 10 days, in USA they, apparently, send you home the same day and don't even bother to check on you afterwards. I need to know,if this is the way the surgery is conducted all the time here.

Sleeping pill and laughing gas for wisdom teeth removal??

My veins are too small and my oral surgeon cannot find a vein to put an iv in so I can be knocked out. Instead, he said I will take a sleeping pill an hour before my surgery and then he will give me laughing gas and shots in my mouth. What will all this feel like?? Will I actually sleep during the surgery?
Thanks!

Will tricare help cover the cost of a vascular surgery (varicose veins)?

I haven't dealt specifically with tricare on this issue before.

Being that it is a government policy I imagine their requirements would be similar to Medicaid and Medicare.

Typically, they do not cover if the treatment is considered cosmetic.

If you are having symptoms than it will likely be covered. Symptoms include leg swelling, pain, discoloration, ect...

Typically, they request you complete three months of conservative therapy. Periodic leg elevation and compression stockings.

I would call and ask them about their specific requirements. I would also talk to your MD about starting to use compresion stockings.

What happens if doctors cut a vein during hernia surgery?

Your body is full of veins (and arteries and capillaries) and some of them WILL be cut during any surgery. (They won't get the femoral vein without trying really hard to screw up, though)

Small blood vessels are cauterized (using a device that zaps them with electricity). Larger vessels are clamped to stop the bleeding, then tied with a suture to keep them closed. There are also little surgical clips that can be used.

Hernia surgery doesn't have a lot of blood loss, because they do keep on top of that as they go in. Other surgeries can have LOTS of blood loss, and the anesthesiologist is responsible for giving the patients extra fluid (and sometimes blood, plasma, platelets or other things) to keep them safe.

If a big blood vessel is injured (and that DOES happen), it is repaired. There is a whole branch of surgery that deals with blood vessels - vascular surgery - and occasionally they'll be called into another OR to fix a vessel.

What is vascular surgery?

can someone define what vascular surgery or give me some example to what it entails as ive just had a letter from the hospital to see a consultant who deals with this department
