If you look at the original translations, there is a passage in the OT that indicates that it was someone other than David who killed Goliath.Other than that martial feat, assuming he did it, there is nothing to indicate David was a warrior-king. Rather, he delegated that task to his generals. And while his armies defeated his neighbors, they were not very powerful nations, or known for martial valor. Leonidas on the other hand, led from the front, and had the most disciplined soldiers of his time. Both were bronze age warriors, but the armor of the Spartans was better. My money is on the Spartans, and a massacre.

David and Goliath depicted in today's society?
My history homework says that I have to "draw a picture that depicts the story of David and Goliath in today's world." For an example, my teacher told me the Yankees and the Phillies (the Yankees being Goliath with more championships). I have no idea what I could draw, any suggestions?
