Japanese Straightening

Japanese hair straightening?

The Process goes like this:

Assessing the hair type and condition. Washing the hair. Applying protein to the hair, if necessary for the particular customer and hair type. (small extra charge for this procedure, if you don't do this when necessary, you could end up with a less than satisfactory result, the stylist will tell you if this is necessary or not in your consultation) Applying Solution #1 (this cuts the hair's "Cystine Bonds" - the bonds that hold curl or wave patterns). Testing to see when the hair is ready to have Solution #1 rinsed out. Rinsing the hair. Eliminating some excess moisture in the hair (blow-drying to a certain point). Ironing the hair in extremely small sections with a special Japanese Straightening Iron that reaches temperatures of 180 degrees Celsius. Applying Solution #2 to the hair after ironing is completed. Rinsing the hair and conditioning. Drying the hair and applying a flat iron to remove excess moisture if necessary.

*Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Lopez both get there hair Japanese straightend*

Japanese hair straightening is an awesome techinique, but it can be really tricky. if your hair is wavy/curly or just plain frizzy, just imagine the regrowth of your hair. you would have like 3 inches of frizzy hair and then the rest stick straight and smooth. straightening the regrowth is problematic and its best to go back to your original stylist because he or she would know where the regrowth ends and the straightened part begins. I haven't gotten this done yet but i've definately done my research- going to make myself an appointment next week.

And to answer your other question, from what I've read and been told by like a dozen ppl, your hair feels the same way it would had you been born with perfect straight flat hair, so yes you can put it up in a pony tail, put it behind your ears, ANYTHING - but curl it lol

Japanese hair straightening?

A japanaese hair straightening will make hair straighter, that's all. It cost's about 200$, but every salon is different. Perms really damage your hair. If you want shiny soft hair then buy a moisturizing shampoo and conditoner.

My hair is super extreme curly (frizz too)

Im young so i go for the flat iron at the salon, but ive always wanted to try japaneise straightening.

Can kids do the japanese straightening?

I started getting it done when I was 23. Japanese Thermal Reconditioning totally worked for me. My hair was very wavy, coarse and dry. Almost always frizzy unless I put Bio Silk or some kind of stuff on it add in/lock in some moisture. I was embarrassed because all the other Asian girls I know all have pretty, straight, shiny hair. I looked like I had a 1970s afro and it totally killed my self esteem all through elementary, middle, high school years. I could not go out without tying up my hair into a pony tail or everyone stared. :(

If you can find someone who does it well, (and if you have not colored or chemically altered your hair already) you may get some really awesome results for at least 4 to 6 months.

The girl who used to do my hair quit at the salon I went to and another girl did my last treatment and she messed up bad...hair started to break and seemed fried and dry. The previous girl always put in solution, flat ironed my hair and then washed it and flat ironed it again and it always turned out so beautiful. I could wash it and shampoo it and it always stayed nice and straight...never frizzy until it grew out again. The product she used was "Phi Ten" solution.

I don't think you are too young, but because you are under age your mom or dad will likely have to go with you to give consent on the treatment...depends on the salon. If it helps your self confidence and you can afford it... I think you should go for it.

$400 for Japanese Hair Straightening, How much to tip?

One of my good friends has this treatment and you'll be amazed! It works GREAT...You'd think she had straight hair and she has tight red curly hair normally --- she gets it wet and just has a light wave which is easily straigthened.

Dont be cheap -- It's a long process for the hairdresser too...Pay up.
