Job For A 14 Year Old In Omaha Nebraska

Jobs for 14-year-olds in Omaha Nebraska?

At 14 your options are very limited...there are limits on when and how much you can work.
Restaurants and Grocery stores are your best options because they find it easier to work within the labor guidelines for minors.
My suggestion to you is that you get out there and apply everywhere you can.

For info about hours you can work, work permit,
job suggestions, interview information:
US Department of Labor
YouthRules!
http://www.youthrules.dol.gov

At 14 or older you can work in an:
office, grocery store, retail store, restaurant, lodging facilities, movie theater, baseball park, municipal parks(city or county),
amusement park, or gasoline service station

Different employers have different policies concerning the hiring of minors. Ask if they are hiring and apply. The worst that can happen is you do not get a job.

When you go to ask about employment dress neat, clean, and appropriately for the business.Be polite and ask if they are hiring. If they give you an application ask when is the appropriate time to bring it back. You will need references so talk to teachers, clergy, coaches, friends or parents. Be sure to ask if you can use them as a reference and let them know to expect calls from prospective employers.

A few larger corporations who do hire 14 year olds:
Kroger, Publix, Food Lion, McDonald's, Chic-Fil-A, Burger King, Dairy Queen, K-Mart

Casual labor and gainful employment that is legal for those under 14:
mow lawns and other yard work
clean houses, wash cars, Tutor, pet-sitter/dog-walker, assist the elderly, baby-sitter

Legal at 13 or younger in some cases:
Deliver, or sell at a street stand, newspapers and periodicals
Work as an actor or performer in motion pictures, television, theater or radio.
Work in a business solely owned or operated by your parents.
Work on a farm owned or operated by your parents.

When school is out of session you can work on a private farm picking and selling fruits and vegetables.

Good Luck !

Does anyone know of any places a 14 year old can work in Omaha, Nebraska?

Actually, Hy-Vee doesn't hire people under the age of 16 any longer. The only options I can think of are Haunted Houses (although the problem is they are very temporary)

A new child labor law has been passed and I don't think you are going to find a job at 14 years old.

Sorry : /

Creating a fundraising event for a pet shelter is fun and easy to do. Find a local shelter http://www.aspca.org http://www.petfinder.com and check out its "wish" or needs list. Follow the shelter's guidelines for fundraisers, decide a date with the shelter for your event. Call all your family and friends and ask them to bring an item from the list either to your house before the date or to the shelter on the date. Even in economically challenging times people can usually afford to give an item. Items typically include: paper towels, bleach, hand sanitizer, wet food, dry food, cat litter, clean rags, toilet paper, office supplies. Take a few pictures of you with all the items stacked to share the success of your event. Every bit helps so you don't have to have a truck load of items. Everything will be appreciated. Ask the shelter to give you a confirmation letter of your event. Shelters are used to doing this forverificationn for school or job references. If your donors want taxreceiptss, the shelter will provide those (only donate to tax shelters that have the tax exempt status or non-profit.) Be sure to send your own thank you notes or emails to the donors. The note doesn't have to list the item given, only to say "thank you so much for your support. You helped make this fundraiser a success." --Remember fundraising is about building relationships. Show your a professional fundraiser who appreciates your donors. Your reputation can help the charities you support.

Best to you!

What big grocery stores hire 14 year olds?

None.
There are plenty of 30 year olds desperate looking for any job.

Is anyone familiar with Lincoln, Nebraska?

I'm thinking of taking a job in Lincoln. At first Nebraska didn't seem like a place I would want to live. But, looking online, Lincoln doesn't seem like a bad place. What are some of the things to do in Lincoln, what are the good places to eat and shop? What is the weather like? Anything else I should know?

16 years old girl and I got caught shoplifting in Walmart?

I'm a 16 year old girl and I made a STUPID mistake, I had the money to pay for my $90 worth of merchandise, I had no reasons to steal the items, but I did! I regret it and I'll never do it again. It was my first time and now I have to wait on a letter in the mail. The location is Starkville, Mississippi and I was wondering if someone could tel me what COULD happen in court, the WORST, and the BEST, and what mostly happens! I know it doesn't matter but I've never been in trouble before, at school or anything, I make all A's and planned to go to college and etc. How will this affect my later career? Will it be on my record forever? If I'm put on probation do I continue going to my regular school? Do I wear the anklet bracelet at school? What will probation consist of and most importantly could I do community service to pay back the money I'll be fined and etc because my mother doesn't have $1000 + because a dumb mistake I made! Someone please help, it will be greatly appreciated. I made a dumb mistake, I'm willing to pay, Thanks everyone who helps.

Is there a limit to how many pets you can have in Omaha?

We're looking into getting another cat, but we already have a cat and two dogs. I have read that Omaha's pet limit is anywhere between three and eight, but I'm not exactly sure. I was also not able to find anything on the humane society's website.
