Joint Writing Project

I am looking to find aspiring writers to join in an ambitious project which involves collaborative writing in the science fiction genre, where would be a good place, online or otherwise, to find them?

If any of you would like to team up and collaborate on a story I can offer a fun place to do it - Describli has four new prompts every day, and you can take turns adding paragraphs to a joint story in our Story game. Then you can share your joint creation with the world! It sounds like you're looking for each writer to add something longer (like a chapter) at a time, but I'm sure a lot of our writers would be interested. Feel free to create a topic in our forums section, you should get a good response.Good luck, sounds like a great project!

How do write a proposal as a developer to a prospective property owner for partnership for development on his land?

The major factor to convince a property owner to develop his property in partnership with you is to show him the financial prospect of such venture.First you need to let him know that this will come at no cost to him and that all outcomes will be profitable to him. Most importantly, you must prove to him that getting in this project in partnership with you will lead higher profits after sale that simply having him sell the property as is.Your homework starts by defining the cost of ‘square meter of air’ that is the zoning of the property distributed over how many share meters of built up area that is sellable. Then you define your overall cost of construction including municipal and other fees and of course final fees of subdivision and utilities connectivities. The property owner does not care about your interest rate and you bank charges, that is something for you to evaluate. While you will be counting on income from sales as you are still under-construction, try to avoid mentioning this to the property owner. I am assuming he is an entrepreneur as well and giving valuable ideas to him will drive him to take the project by himself without you.It is important to show some history of your previous experience in this field if you sense that he is hesitating. Never ever lay all your weapons up front. Don’t loose focus on your objective.Your main strategy is to show him the potentials of profits and that going in partnership with you is certainly more lucrative than selling the property as is.As you enter into the convincing stage you might refer to you experience, to your financial capacity ONLY if necessary. Because all of these words will become commitments.Show him your selling strategy but don’t expose your intention to use the income from early sales as source of construction.Be very specific in numbers and always go for the lower estimations. The numbers are your best friend.A final advice, don’t be chauvinistic and be down to earth as possible while showing full confidence in your proposal. This could be achieved by explicitly and repetitively explaining how he has nothing to loose, only to profit, while you are investing into the construction and sales. That going in this project will put the burden on you alone and it is your many at stake not his.I invite you to visit couple of my project in Lebanon: House Sale in Lebanon - Adma 236 and 2872 Mansourieh

What should I write about?

Deciding a writing top is always difficult. To narrow it down, think about what you like to read about/talk about with no other motivation than your own personal enjoyment. Do you regularly peruse certain blogs/news sites to keep up to date with certain information. Write something about that topic. You'll already know enough about it to make research easier.

For example: Do you like video games? Do you play on xbox live/steam? Then you could write about how digital downloads are changing the nature of software "ownership" and whether you agree/disagree with that.

Another example: I assume that like all high school kids, you've sold your soul to the Facebook gods. You could write about how social networking sites change the nature of privacy and how parents/companies are using them to investigate people's lives. Do you agree/disagree with that? What could be done to change that?

Also: I would argue wikipedia is an entirely viable research source. Just because something isn't on paper doesn't mean it's less true. And because it's digital, it allows for more revisions to stay accurate than other sources.

Is a joint honours degree as highly respected as a normal degree?

I think it's called a joint honours degree... basically where you study 2 subjects, I think... haha!
I have been considering a course maybe in literature and theatre studies as literature is what I am passionate about. However, I loved theatre studies at gcse (didn't take it at sixth form). I also put a lot of research into the most employable graduates, and apparently, those who study drama/theatre are more employable because of the skills they gain.
I aspire to become a journalist (preferably a broadcast journalist). I thought that Literature will give me writing skills and theatre speaking skills - thus providing me with skills for a job in either broadcast or newspaper!

Anyway, my question is whether this would be good? Or should I simply stick with Literature?
