Just Tell Me Why Pau Gasol Deserves To Be Hall Of Famer

True or False: Pau Gasol is a future Hall of Famer?

If Denise Rodman & Reggie Miller can make to the Hall of Fame, so can Pau. People are debating whether Tmac will make to the HOF or not but if he does, then don't you think Pau Gasol deserves to be there? Personally, I believe Tmac is a loser.

-Pau

*2x NBA Champion
*Rookie of the Year
*5x All Stars
*3 Peats Western Conference Titles
*Averages 20 PPG
*Scored 55 points against the Nuggets in 2014
*Grizzlies All Time Leading Scorer.

-Tmac
*Most Improved Player
*7x All Stars
*2 Scoring Titles
*1 NBA Finals appearances but didn't play in 2013 with the Spurs, because he was a injured prone.

There is a 50/50 chance the Lakers might retire #16 Gasol in the futre.

Is Pau Gasol a hall of famer?

Everyone in the media and the fans is going to argue about whether or not Kobe is the greatest Laker (no but he will be when he wins his sixth ring cuz Magic had five) or whether or not Kobe is the second coming of Michael Jordan (which he's not), but I have a question for you guys that no one is talking about, is Pau Gasol a hall of famer? If you ask me before he came to La, I would have thought he would be borderline at the end of his career, but now after two championships I would say he will get in on his second try. I think winning more championships will only help his legacy as it did for Terry Bradshaw with the Steelers who had mediocore numbers at the qb position, but was greatly aided by four Super Bowl wins.

Does Pau Gasol deserve a spot in the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame?

If he retired tomorrow, maybe not. But assume he remains a top-5 PF for 2-3 more years, and an above-average one for a few years after that, and he'll almost certainly get in.At that point, Pau's career resume (factoring both individual and team accomplishments) will arguably be above that of HOF big men like Robert Parish, Wes Unseld, and the recently accepted Artis Gilmore. Anyone who voted to induct those guys will be hard-pressed to justify not inducting Pau.

What is the legacy of Tony Parker? Is he a Hall of Fame player? Why or why not?

Tony was part of a great Spurs run and collected rings like few others in NBA history. But for me the total package of his career isn’t impressive. 15.7ppg and only 5.7apg isn’t remarkable for a PG. 2 to 1 assist to turnovers doesn’t impress me. I’m not saying he wasn’t a very good player. But the HOF should be for the truly elite. He was not.

Derek fisher hall of famer?

I remember watching Game 1 of the NBA Finals between the Celtics and Lakers. I distinctively remember one of the announcers praising Derek Fisher, while saying that he would not make in the Hall of Fame or ever "be the best", but still played a big part of the Lakers' success over the years.

That really upset me. Why can't Derek Fisher be inducted into the Hall of Fame someday? Why? He's done just as many things for the league as the next guy. He was always underrated in his own right, but Kobe, and himself always believe in him. He does deserve a spot in the Hall of Fame. I don't care what anybody says.

Is Vince Carter a Hall of Fame worthy player?

He will be remembered regardless...If he does get inducted I believe the huge factor would be his contributions to the game of basketball for not just Toronto, but for Canada. His impact and influence changed the landscape of how the sport is received here. No disrespect to Steve Nash but Vince's presence in Canada is unprecedented. Other factors will obviously be his handful of All-Star appearances (4-5 of which he was the leading vote getter), his individual accolades; setting or breaking franchise records; 1999 rookie of the year; couple of All-NBA selections. He is also currently one of the few active players to have scored over 20,000 points, putting him in a list of good company. Even if he is not inducted he will always be remembered by his array of highlights; dunks and clutch moments what have you not. P.S. He's also 37 right now. STILL BALLIN'.

Did Grant Hill and Maurice Cheeks deserve to enter the Basketball Hall of Fame with the class of 2018?

Basketball is unique. There is no NBA Hall of Fame, it is The Basketball Hall of Fame. So a players career in college has bearing on whether they are inducted, not just their pro career. Its also overall contributions to the sport. Both players have had outstanding careers

Will LA retire Pau Gasol's jersey?

If he makes the Hall of Fame yes it will be..............

Does Ralph Sampson belong in the Basketball Hall of Fame?

http://www.basketball-reference.... This question has two answers. If we view the hall of fame as a place to put popular players, then he probably has a spot. As you mentioned, when he played he was very popular based on his accolades. However, if we look at the Hall of Fame as a place for statistically impressive players then no. Ralph Sampson was never that good of a player. Despite the fact that he got 20 points per game earlier in his career, his shooting efficiency was never that good. His True Shooting Percentage was only above average for his position one season in his career, his rookie season.Additionally, while he did pull down around 10 boards a game, this is average for a center playing as much time as he did. All Sampson was really all that good at was passing and blocking. However, his turnovers and fouls were both very high. So it ends up as a wash.To reiterate - as a popular player on a popular team - yes Sampson is not a surprise to be voted in. But as a statistically impressive player? He has no place in the hall.
