Kitten Is Not Acting Normal

My cat is not acting normal?

Cats are very good at hiding they are sick. When they get to the point when they are showing obvious symptoms, they need to be taken to the vet as soon as possible. It may be stress. . .But it sounds like a health issue your local vet can diagnose.

Can you tell if he has been losing weight? That is a sure sign something is very wrong. The losing hair thing needs to be addressed by a vet. They can do some quick bloodwork to make sure no cancer/liver problems are going down. They can also check the urine for problems and give him ointment for the fur problems at least. (If they are raw and painful)

MY CAT IS NOT ACTING NORMAL!!?

Okay so my house is a two story. When you walk in the door you look up and the stair case is there like it has a open space where there are two sets of stairs. 15 steps total so cut that in half that's how are stairs are.
Earlier today my cat jumped on the ledge where you can you know hang your head over and look down at the door. Well instead of landing on the ledge he fell 20ft or a whole story!! Fell on a little box at bottom of the stairs and slide down. He was going crazy. He was sooo scared. Ever since he is sleeping and sleeping and looks hurt. Nothing is bleeding. He usually jumps up on the ledge and is perfectly fine. What do i do!

Cat got neutered and its not acting normal?

If its been 5 days and he still is off I would certainly schedule a re check exam for him tomorrow.
Neuters are short procedures that are done under an injectable anesthesic drug.
Sometimes they need to be masked with an inhalant anesthetic to maintain anesthesia.
The fact that your boy is a persian makes him more of an anesthetic challenge as he is brachycephalic.
Many times these cats need additional oxygen prior and post op.
Without it there can be complications.

I would check your cats gums to ensure he is ok.
They should be a pink color.
If they are very pale pink, white or blue he needs help immediately.
A good way to check capillary refill is to apply pressure to a pink area of the gum for 2 seconds.
Once you remove the pressure by the time you count to 2 the color should be back to normal.
If the color does not return by 2 seconds it means blood is not perfusing to tissues adequately.
Veterinary care is essential if that is the case.

Make sure he is eating and drinking and eliminating.
I strongly encourage you to seek veterinary care for him no later than tomorrow.
Cats typically are back to their old selves in 24 hours and no later than 48 hours.
I definitely believe he needs to be examined.

My cat is not acting normal?

This morning I noticed my cat was ot acting herself. She was sitting in the bathroom which was unusual and when I pushed her to leave she was hesitant to move. She has not been eating, not taking treats. She just sits in one spot and kind of grumbles to herself. Normally she is outgoing, purring, and jumping up to see me. The stool looks normal, and the food is nothing different than what she has been eating. Do cats have an upset stomache sometimes? She had a lot of little treats yesterday. She is an indoor car, there is nothing that could make her sick. Will this pass or should I take her to the vet? I am only asking this because a vet trip could easily become $300.

My cat isn't acting normal, is she sick?

If you are feeding her dry food try feeding her wet most cats will eat wet food. Make sure she stays hydrated if she is having diarahha she isn't drinking. she may be hurting and when you pet her is it a certain part that she meows like that in. I haven't had much experience with these though. Here is what i found out

You can tell if your cat is entering old age when he does not jump onto his favorite perches easily, or at all. He will asleep more, and when awake, he will move slowly and with a hint of stiffness. However the cat will be as prone to arthritis and backaches and dry noses due to dehydration for a long time. Although you may not notice at first because he is adept are keeping to a routine, your cat may start to loose his hearing and sight Its a good idea to let him up and call his name before you approach him.

Dehydrations are another reason of dry nose. This is however when your cat can no longer eat or drink on her will to engage inn his normal pastimes, it is to be shown to the vet as a point to care for them to give a healthy life.

I hope this helps.

12-year-old cat not eating but acting normal for the most part. Should I be worried?

I have a 12-year-old cat who's healthy but isn't eating normally. I just moved to a new house Wednesday (It's now Monday.) and didn't think much when she wasn't eating too much for the first couple days. Last night, I was able to get her to eat a couple pieces of the same food she's had for years, but I had to offer her a single piece at a time and put it on the floor in front of her. She probably ate five to 10 pieces of food and then decided that's all she wanted. For the most part, she seems to be acting normal. It doesn't seem like she's sleeping more than normal or anything, and she comes to sit in my lap all the time. She isn't playing with the twist ties and rubber bands she usually does. She's still purring whenever I come to pet her, and her ears/nose don't feel hot, so I'm guessing she doesn't have a fever. Last night, she was up and about, exploring my room and playing around on the furniture, which she does all the time. She leaves my room every now and then on her own to explore the rest of the house--in fact, she's doing that right now.

We do have two dogs at this new house, but one stays in the garage virtually all day and we keep the other dog away from the cat (We keep him locked up in another bedroom for some of the day, too.); I've moved the cat's food and water dish in my room, and we keep the door mostly shut so that she can sneak out to go to the litter box--which she has used a couple times since the move. When she does feel threatened by the dogs, she doesn't hesitate to hiss or take swipes at them, so I'm guessing that's a sign that she still has a decent amount of energy. My cat has lived with all sorts of dogs her entire life, but I'm still be precautious to give her some time to adjust to these dogs.

I'm a broke college student and can't afford a huge vet bill right now, so I'd prefer not to have to take her in if I don't absolutely need to. Obviously if she continues these patterns, I'll have to take her in later this week. I just want to know if there's anything I can do around here now to get her to eat again or if it's something I just need to wait and see on.

Thanks everyone.

6 yr old cat not acting normal, been to vet and vet says cat is OK.....help pls?

Did those tests include brain scans? The symptoms your cat is exhibiting seems to indicate some problems in that area, rather than electrolyte and hormonal imbalances. If the vet she's been seeing don't do scans, try seeking a second opinion with a more experienced vet.
Other than that, has she recently had a fall that'd landed her on her head, or was she suddenly alarmed excessively? Also, check to see if there're any teeth marks on her. Injury might lead to such behaviour, and so can rabies. She might have gotten bitten without you knowing it as animals tend to instinctively hide their wounds.
Did the vet also check her liver and kidney functions? Liver and kidney failure can lead to erratic behaviour like this as well.
Bring her back to her vet, or seek a second opinion regarding her condition.
Good luck.

Cat not eating? Acting normal?

My cat has been acting perfectly normal, no strange behavior. But she hasn't been eating normal.

Yesterday I saw her morning food uneaten but then she ate it hours later. Today I see her morning food uneaten again. she has not eaten it yet, and her second feeding is in about an hour. She gets fed very early in the morning and will meow in your face for you to wake up and feed her. Other than her not eating/eating late she has been fine. She had a small hairball yesterday but not eating again today is worrying.

What could be the problem/what should be done? She is an adult cat, at least 5 years old.

PLEASE HELP!! MY CAT IS GIVING BIRTH BUT IS NOT ACTING NORMAL?

If the mother has not removed the amniotic membrane within 1 minute after delivery, intervene and gently grasp the kitten in a clean towel and pull away the slimy material. Be certain the nose and mouth are free from fluid and tissue.

Rub the kitten with a towel along the shoulders and back to stimulate breathing. A healthy meow indicates an unobstructed airway.

If the mother has not chewed through the umbilical cord, sever it about 2 inches from the kitten's body, using sharp, sterilized scissors (sterilize with isopropyl alcohol). Gently pull the afterbirth from the birth canal.

Expect kittens to be delivered 15 to 45 minutes apart, but call your veterinarian if strong labor continues for 30 minutes without producing a kit-ten. Average litters contain three to six kittens.

Make sure that nursing begins in a few minutes. It is essential for the kittens to nurse from the mother to provide protection against disease.

My cat won't eat, drink, pee, poop, and is not acting normal?

people need to stop picking on you for asking this question. this does not make you a bad pet owner, they need to back off!!! you obviously care. you are trying everything you know and now want others to give you suggestions. since it has already been five days i think you need to take him to the vet because she can not live that much longer with out food and water. it sounds like there is a blockage in her digestive track. this is very serious. only a vet can tell with x rays and with barium which helps show blockages that do not normally show up on a x ray.
at least for tonight keep giving her water, do not worry aboutfood, she needs water more. then tommorrow you can call the vet which i think is best

good luck

a farmers store where they buy supplies for goats, sheep, cows, etc. (farm and fletet) sell antibiotics. you could try that in case their is an infection but that is taking a huge risk because she might not have the time to spare and if it is a blockage and not an infection then she could die even sooner. i feel sorry for you and i do not judge you. all pet owners make mistakes and learn from them. if people do not admit them then they are not being truthful with themselves

im glad to hear she pooped. that is a very good sign. i do not have much money like you and cant afford 200 or 300 dollar vet bills either so do not feel bad. we are still loving pet owners. keep searching for answers. i think she will be just fine!!
