Lawsuit Against Doctor For Injured Wrist

If your wrist is sprained can you get a cast instead of a splint? and what if its a fracture?!?!?

if it sprained/ strained they put a splint

if its fractured then a cast , but it depends on the doc too there are some splints that can be used for fractures, but the problem on using a splint depends on the doc he might feel your not going to take care of it well and the severity of the fracture,
thats why the cast is used
also it more money for the doc to cast you and it heals truly correctly

Can doctors be fooled by fake injuries?

i have heard so many cases of people faking sprained this and torn that and was just wondering, how do these people fool the doctors? aren't doctors able to see through their desperate cry for attention?

Can I sue my doctor for messing up a surgery?

3 years ago I broke the worst bone you could break in my hand, my first diagnosis was wrong and I was told I did not have any broken bones, however after still being in severe pain for 5 months I went for a 2nd opinion and found out I did have a break. They had to do surgery immediately and put in a screw. My wrist never felt the same after, even after months of physical therapy I have no forward movement in my wrist and minimal ability to bend it back, I am constantly in severe pain. Basically after going to 3 other hand doctors they all say that the surgery did nothing, and I now my bone is dying, I have arthritis, and will eventually most likely lose all movement of my wrist and my only option is to get a surgery that MIGHT improve the pain BUT I will lose the movement, or I can do nothing and keep what little movement I have for now, but get severe arthristis and be in constant pain. Can I legally sue my doctors for messing up the surgery? Because of this I will never be able to do heavy work with my hands and eventually maybe not be able to work at all.

I hurt my hand! Opening a jar of all things. Doctor visit?

It sounds to me like you strained a tendon. Tendons connect muscles to bones, and you have lots of those in your hands.

Give it a rest. Use ice to limit the swelling, if there is any swelling. Tendons do heal up on their own, but they do take a long time to heal. Hopefully you do not earn your living as a concert pianist, because you won't be playing piano for a while.

It is unlikely you completely tore the tendon, which would require tendon reattachment surgery.

Give it a few days, and see how it feels. If you have any loss of function after a few days, you might consult a doctor. Otherwise, you are fine to just give it a rest. Pain is your body's way of saying "take it easy." So give that hand a rest.

Broken arm healed wrong, can i sue the doctor?

in late february i was snowboarding and i landed on my right wrist. i broke both of the bones in my arm, i was put in a splint for about 2 weeks, then a hard cast for 4 weeks. when the hard cast was put on i had some discomfort from the cast, my fingers were swollen and it hurt when moving my arm. after they took my hard cast off they did x-rays on my wrist to see if the bones were healed corectly. after the x-rays the doctor said that my wirst was about 20 degrees off from what it is suppose to be at. and the doctor said i will need surgery to fix my wrist. could i sue the doctor that put my cast on, becuase i believe he put the cast on wrong, or just way to tight? thanks.
