Letter Of Recommendation Help. Who To Ask

How should I ask my teachers for letters of recommendation?

1. I would choose teachers with whom you have a strong, personal relationship. You certainly want to select teachers whose classes you have done well in. I would simply approach them before/after class and ask "Would you be comfortable writing a letter of recommendation for me? I am applying for ...." If this is not feasible, send them an e-mail asking if they would be comfortable writing a letter of recommendation and explaining why you would like a letter from them.
2. It is customary to give the teacher an envelope in which to place their recommendation. Depending on the program you are applying for, you may need to address and stamp it separately and have the teacher sign the seal (therefore preventing any tampering with the envelopes contents). Some programs will ask that you have the professor mail the envelope separately, while some request that you include it in your general mailing.
3. Remember that the teacher is doing you a favor by writing a letter of recommendation. Try to make it as easy for them as possible, including explaining what the program is you are applying for. Do not try to dictate what the teacher says. If they ask you, be prepared to talk up a few competencies you have demonstrated in their class or activities that you feel are relevant.

Good Luck!

How can you ask a teacher for a letter of recommendation if you're quiet in class?

As a teacher I get this request a lot. Just go up to them when they aren't busy teaching. Do not be afraid. Sometimes the quiet ones don't get as much attention as the loud obnoxious ones, but we know you are there and we really do appreciate your effort. So don't be afraid to ask. Have a list of extraciricular activities you participate in school or outside of school. Also include a list of any volunteer work, awards, accomplishments, or challenging classes you have taken. This really helps us make you sound super good. Sometimes I would reather have a shy quiet student ask than an annoying loud kid who doesn't even pass the class.

How to ask my teacher for a letter of recommendation?

I am really shy and nervous to ask him for a letter of recommendation. Idk how I should ask him? Should I just go to his room and say I was wonderinf if you could write me a letter of recommendation? How should I start the conversation? Please help and thanks!

How do you ask a teacher for a letter of recommendation?

You simply go up to whichever teacher you think will write an excellent letter for you, and ask him/her, "I was wondering if you could please write me a letter of recommendation?" and I'm sure your teacher will be happy to write for you.

I teach English to juniors in high school, and I love writing letters for them. It's amazing to watch your students blossom into who they have become, and all I want is for my students to succeed. Most of your teachers probably feel the same way (most, at least). Don't be shy- just ask!

Good luck!

PLEASE help me write an email to ask for recommendation letters!?

You have most of the email already written.

"Mr or Mrs ________"
"I want to volunteer some of my free time to perform community service at a local hospital. But this will require a letter of recommendation from two professionals. Could you please provide me with such a letter?"
"Thank you."

Should I ask my Governor to write a letter of recommendation of me for college?

You really should get a letter of recommendation from someone who knows you well and who can describe to the college why you stand out from everyone else. If you get a letter of recommendation from someone who doesn't know you, they'll just be saying the basic things that colleges do not want to waste their time reading. And most colleges want a letter from a teacher/counselor and a coach/employer. AKA someone who knows you well and who you've known for a while.

Letters of recommendation matter a little bit when it comes to being accepted into a college. Obviously, GPA, SAT scores, extracurriculars, and the essay all matter way more than the letters do.

GOOD LUCK!
