Feeling light-headed after eating?

That sounds like your blood sugar is going too low.
You don't say how soon this happens after you eat. It could be that you wait too long to eat between meals. Once you eat your body's energy goes toward digestion and you don't have enough energy to keep feeling strong while you digest. Or, it could be that you need to eat more protein and less carbohydrates. Maybe you should try eating five or six small meals a day, always with a good protein source.

Why do I get lightheaded after eating certain meals?

If you eat a meal that is mostly carbs (fruit, cereal, breads), it all breaks down into sugar (glycogen) in your bloodstream. That gets too high and signals your pancreas to pump in insulin to bring your blood sugar level down. Then it gets too low and you get hungry and lightheaded.

It's best to eat a balance of fat, protein and carbs at each meal. Have an egg white omelet with your cereal or another protein like chicken with your fruit. Don't be eating a lot of high-cholesterol foods like bacon and egg yolks or you'll clog up your arteries! And eat lots of leafy green veggies like broccoli.

Why do I get very faint/lightheaded after eating any cereal?

Ok, so I've had this problem for a long time, and I'm still not sure what it is. I don't eat breakfast often; but when I do, it is usually cereal. Every time after eating cereal, I get extremely faint and lightheaded, and my arms and legs get wobbly and shaky and it's practically immobilizing. I almost blacked all the way out once. The only way I can get rid of it is to eat something else fast, otherwise I will pass out, most likely.
And it isn't just sugary cereal either; I eat those healthier whole-grain cereals too, and it does the same thing. Any advice or information on what this could be?
Thanks for any help. :)

Feeling light-headed after eating sushi- coincidence?

Not a lot of carbs or sugars in sushi. Most likely it's your body complaining that it's low on sugars. Your body will give you reminders to eat carbs and sugars in hopes that you will. So the body doesn't have to tap your stored fat reserves.

Why do I get dizzy/light-headed if I don't eat sugar?

You could be hypoglycemic. The gold standard is/was the GTT (glucose tolerance test). It takes several hours and you must be fasting when you go in. They measure your fasting blood sugar then feed you a measured portion of glucose and take your blood sugar once per hour for several hours. The results are graphed. You want your blood sugar to remain between 70 and 100. Right after the glucose, it may rise above 100. How high does it rise? How soon does it come down? Does it stabilize? At what level does it stabilize? Google GTT results and you’ll find charts with interpretations.You might try eating a piece of fruit instead of sugar. Sugar may cause your blood sugar to spike way high then fall too low. Fruit has fiber, so it is metabolized into glucose more slowly, stabilizing your blood sugar at a more reasonable level.

Why do I feel lightheaded and weak now that I eat healthy and exercise?

1200 calories is simply not enough to maintain a healthy body even if your pretty sedentary. Working out 6 days a week (no matter gender, race, weight etc) and eating 1200 calories is dangerous, your body will turn to eating it self (muscle) and will try to hold on to as much fat as possible as it is terrified of what is happening to it.If your working out 6 days a week at MINIMUM 2000 calories should suffice. I work out 4-5 days a week for a bout 1.25 hours and I eat about 3500-4000 calories (I am a 23 yr old, 220 pound 6'2 male in good shape with no sixpk).

I feel incredibly dizzy and lightheaded after eating the following foods today?

Today, and by today I mean in the last 4 hours, I ate the following things:

2 medium Toblerone bars;
4 glasses of Pepsi;
1 bag of chips with paprika;
1 medium package of gummy bear candy by Haribo.

I feel dizzy and lightheaded. To put it into perspective- I feel high, literally. I hardly typed out this question, please help me.

Why do I feel tired and lightheaded if I don't eat for an extended period of time?

Most probably due to a change in blood-sugar, which in cases can lead to dizziness, even fainting, depending on person or situation.Best is to ensure you are at least hydrated.…the phrase “extended period of time” is quite vague and could mean weeks.Fasting does incorporate not eating for a long time, but generally includes teas etc that lend adequate mineral supply to maintain brain function and central nervous systems without affect or threat.The body doesn’t need much, but any extreme situation or significant imbalance needs to be treated with attention.Simply answered, if its a simple situation of just not eating for a period and your metabolism eg is focussed on using carbohydrates, then your body can destabilise as you describe rather rapidly, as carbs usually require “refilling” every 20–30 minutes under exertion.If you go beyond that then energy drops, blood sugar changes and you have the situation you describe.
