How Do You Lucid Dream?

I've looked up a lot of different methods and none of them seem to work for me. At least not yet. Do you guys have any experience with it and if so, what's the best way to lucid dream?

How does MILD lucid dreaming work?

MILD stands for Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams or "Mnemonically Induced Lucid Dream". This technique makes use of your ability to recall your intentions in the future (prospective memory), making you more likely to remember to question the dream or your intent of becoming lucid, or making a reality check. This can be done in several ways:- By the use of mantras and reality checks;- Visualization;- Exercises that improve your prospective memory.Because some people have an easier time remembering their intention than others, the time it takes to obtain a lucid dream may vary, which is why MILD tends to be such a reliable technique for some. Over time, as your prospective memory improves, you'll notice more consistent results, not only in achieving lucidity, but also in remembering actions and plans you have for your dream adventures, and even having an easier time remembering to wake up in the middle of the night if you're trying to WILD.Info from http://www.dreamviews.com

MILD lucid dreaming and Sleep Paralysis?

You can in any method you use from what I've read since sleep paralysis is a part of it. It happens between awake and sleep which could be very helpful inducing lucid dream. I haven't done it myself but have heard it helps to keep remembering it doesn't last long and it won't hurt. Also think of what u may want to do in the dream to focus on something else instead of not being able to move.
side note- just incase u don't know, don't do more than one method at a time. Its good to stick with the same thing a week or 2 at least.

Lucid dreaming tips for beginners?

Well, what are you doing to try to lucid dream? Are you doing at least a dozen reality checks a day? These are essential to lucid dreaming because they get your mind in the habit of constantly questioning your reality, and this quickly transfers into your dreams which makes you lucid. When you do them though, you have to seriously ask yourself if you are dreaming. If you don't, your mind will not truly question your reality during a dream and it will not work. If you don't know how to do reality checks, post another question asking about them and I will gladly answer. :) Another thing you need to be doing is keeping a dream journal. This helps improve dream recall as well as assists you in finding dream signs, or things that are common in your dreams. For example, one of my old friends is one of my dream signs because she appears all the time in my dreams. Recognizing these dream signs can help you to become lucid the next time you dream about them. Now, which technique are you using to lucid dream? I would recommend staying away from WILD, or Wake Induced Lucid dreams, at least until you have had a few lucid dreams. It is an advanced technique and although this sometimes works for beginners, it is not common. I would recommend MILD, or better yet MILD mixed with WBTB. (Google them. It would take forever to explain each one. However if you have a question about a specific method or combo , make another question and I will answer it the best I can :) ) This is my favorite method and although with any DILD (Dream Induced Lucid Dream) the results can be random, I have found it to work quite often. I suggest checking out world-of-lucid-dreaming.com. This website has information on anything and everything relating to lucid dreaming. Good luck! :)

Is lucid dreaming useful?

You may know that I am 69 years old. Often, when I dream I feel that what I dream had meaning, but I would not or did not get up and write it down! There were years, during the time that I was building a business, that when I was looking for answers to questions having to do with building my business. I would go to bed, I could visualize a large orb that was of great size, perhaps thousands of miles across and maybe the size of a planet. I could easily rotate it in any direction, it had doors and windows all over its surface, I would open the windows and doors, knowing the question I had in my mind. I would find the answer behind a window or a door, mostly behind doors. I always found the correct answer. Maybe not in one night, but I always found the answer, eventually creating a very successful business. The orb that I visualized was not a dream. It was a tool that I used each night, for answers.I wished that I would have got up and wrote down the thoughts or dreams that I had. It is something that needs to be done at the time you dream it, when you know that you should get up. In the morning when you get up and try to remember, you can’t remember it with the same, ? I don’t know, the same spirit or the sameness whatever you call special dreams. So to answer your question, YES! There are many successful people in business or religion or whatever their calling or occupation, get up and write down their dreams. That is very true.I believe it could have made a difference in my life and therefore the lives of my family.
