Lump On Back Of My Neck - Hard

What is a hard lump on the the back right of my neck?

Hmm, this one is difficult to answer. There are a number of possibilities as to what it could be, anything from a benign lump, to a symptom of a hidden autoimmune disorder, to cancer. Any one of these things is possible, and it would be unfair of me to tell you which one it is, without having a chance to evaluate it in person. As much as I'd like to help you, I'd be doing a huge disservice to you by attempting to diagnose you over the Internet. In order to get the best information about what it is and what to do about it, you should have it evaluated by a medical professional, who can examine it in person and give you their recommendation as to what it is.From your description, it doesn't sound like anything that needs to be evaluated in the emergency room. Your primary care doctor would be the best person to ask, if you have one. Or an urgent care clinic would work too, if you don't have a PCP or are more concerned about it.

Small Hard Pea Size Lump Back of Neck?

I am 20 years old. Over the past couple of days I have found a small pea sized lump on the right side of the back of my neck. It is slightly tender and immovable. I have been to the doctors and he said it was nothing to worry about, that none of my other glands were swollen and they take some time to go down. I had a blood test a couple of weeks ago and nothing was out of the ordinary apart from a slight iron deficiency. Even after the doctor's non concern I am still worried about this, I have read on the internet about Lymphoma and that swollen lymph nodes without infection could be a sign of this?

Help! Hard lump on the back of my head?

Allee.... I love your name that is my babies name too. I think you have the same thing I have it's a little harmless cyst nothing to worry about. I had mine removed and it came back so I'm just living with it. I too suffer from migraines but I went of chocolate and caffiene and they have gone away. Same as you described. Try taking some excedrin migraine and lay down with a cold pack and cover your eyes. I really hope this helps you and I'm sorry that your dad treats you so horribly. Take care and good luck! Relax too!

Bony bump on back of neck?

The bony bump on the back of your neck is likely a "spinous process" from one of the 26 bones in your spine. The 7th cervical vertebrae (at the nape of your neck) is the most pronounced in about 80% of the population. Head forward posture, or flexion will definitely make this bump more pronounced. You're not going to be able to "fix" the bone, but what you can do is focus on the muscles in your neck to eliminate or reduce your head forward posture. Your head forward posture could be from a couple of things so I could give suggestions for exercise, but until you're evaluated by a chiropractor familiar with functional screening it might make the problem worse. One thing you can do is to focus on extending your head back slightly and extending your arms back while they are at your side. Hold this posture for 3-5 seconds and relax slightly to a "normal" posture. Repeat this 3x per day for 10 times. These are called "Bruegger's exercises" or "Bruegger's posture" Other than this you could have overactivity of some muscles, or inhibition of some muscles, or both which could be causing your head to be forward and making your vertebra more prominent in that area. Good luck, and get checked, you can never know how good you will feel when your body is restored to proper neurological and biomechanical function through chiropractic.

My dog has a black lump on his neck. What could this be?

Go to your Vet and have them check it out to be safe, Could be a mole or a skin tag but it also could be a skin growth or tumor (which may be benign, or may be more serious) and common in certain breeds of dogs. I had a rescue mutt who had various skin growths over his healthy 14 year life span. I always had them checked out, and if suspicious, they were biopsied (done with a needle, not surgery) and sent off to the lab. An experienced Vet can do a hands on exam and then suggest how to proceed. I was on the side of wanting it checked out completely. I also had a groomer at a certain chain store tell me a growth on top of my dog’s head was just a “zit” …needless to say, off to the Vet he went. Had a biopsy done and they found evidence of mast cells in the growth, the vet said it had potential to grow, and I had them remove it. Better safe than sorry since cancer of all types is showing up more and more in our dogs. Good luck !
