Lymph Nodes Are Hard And Swollen After I Fell

Is it worrisome that lymph nodes swelled after a massage in SPA?

actually this is fairly normal.  Massage Therapists always recommend lots of water and no caffeine or alcohol (or any other toxic substances) after a massage because your blood flow has increased to more areas of your body and is actively working to flush the toxins out of your body.  The easiest way is to direct them towards your lymph nodes to be processed and cleaned. This causes the lymph glands to swell a bit as they are processing a higher quantity of material than usual.  The same way they do when you are ill. (they are processing dead bacteria, viral and white blood cells.  I'd worry if after several days they have not gone down and would recommend a visit to your doc.  Alwasy avoid massage during illness or after a big night on the drink as your body is already working hard to clean out your body fluids.  dont make it work harder than it has too.

Inguinal hernia VS. swollen lymph node?

Inguinal hernia's affect men in which the intestine bulges through the inguinal canal (the passage which the testes descend into the scrotum). So you can cross that one off.

I don't want to offend you but am using a medical handbook & this is the description offered for a "Femoral" hernia, most commonly occur in obese women, part of the intestine where the femoral vein & artery pass from the abdomen to the thigh.
It is noticed as a swelling at the top front of the thigh. Although the hernia itself may be large, it's neck is narrow, and can only be corrected by surgery.

Hernias in general can also be caused by a congenital weakness, lifting heavy objects, substantial weight gain, persistent coughing or straining to defaecate. Hernias may also develop after other surgeries.

Lymph glands/nodes vary in size from microscopic to approx. 2.5 cm. in diameter (under an inch). They play a major part in the body's defence systems. But you said you're on antibiotics so they should be assisting? Are there any red lines around the area?

There's literally pages & pages of stuff on the lymphatic system, lymph nodes / glands / lymphocytes / lymphoedema.

If you are in doubt, check it out, better safe than sorry. I'm not a nurse or GP I have found this book useful in the past, but usually to help me fully understand what my GP has advised was causing my health issues.

Please don't muck about, you're not being silly if you're in pain - then you need help. Good luck

Swollen Lymph Nodes in Neck?

I've had a swollen gland in my neck since last July/August I've been to the doctor several times and nothing has come of it. I've had blood work run in september and last month, but the one last month was just to check chlosterol levels. My doctor finally wanted to run a CT scan last month and it came back that i had a gland over 2 cm in my neck and other smaller lymph nodes in my neck.

They sent me to a general surgeon to get looked at for biopsy, but the surgeon said the gland wasn't even big enough for him to do the biopsy, and thats because the largest gland has been able to grow and shrink at times.

I've noticed the other nodes in my neck more and im getting worried. I don't show any signs of cancer i eat fine, sleep well. My main doctor has said from the get go that she believed it was due to allergies.

These nodes now aren't real hard they feel movable but aren't painful either. If I had Lymphoma or Leukiema wouldn't I have shown signs by now, or would it have showed...

Lump In Gum and Swollen Lymph Node?

Hello
it could be a number of things. It could be the start of an abscess and your lymph nodes are now enlarged as they are starting to try and fight it. Do you have a tooth with a filling near the lump? Is the lump on the outside of your gums or inside ( back of teeth area)?

Gingivitis could cause a localised swelling like you describe. Gingivitis can flare up for a number of reasons. It could even have been caused by a sharp crisp (potato chip), or a bump from a toothbrush.

Or it could be that you have mandibular torus- these are painless swelling of the bone and are completely harmless. They are very common and most people just get small lumps which they are usually unaware of, until they are feeling around one day and suddenly notice.

Best thing to do is go and show your dentist to put your mind at rest.

Hope that helps

If a person is not sick can they still feel their lymph nodes? If so, what are they suppose to feel like?

Lymph nodes are part of our defensive system, normal ones as elastic, not affixed to the layer underneath, nor to one another, usually no bigger then say 2 mm, if the body part that empties if lymph into the nodes is inflamed/wounded/infected these lymph nodes will swell. Here is an overview where lymph nodes can be found

Is it normal to feel lymph nodes in the neck? They feel soft and are movable.

Yes it is normal to feel lymph nodes in the neck and head. Health care providers (HCP) do this when palpating the head and neck with an exam. This video demonstrates how a head and neck lymph node exam is performed. Here is a diagram of the lymph nodes of the head and neck to which you refer.Source: The lymph nodes in the neck And of course we may want to know what can go wrong with the lymph nodes and lymphatic system.Ailments: what can go wrong with the lymphatic system An experienced clinician can further help in identifying if your lymph nodes are normal. Palpation findings are not the only way to evaluate. If they suspect a problem additional testing would be recommended. To summarize: feeling soft and moveable lymph nodes in a person's neck falls within a common and normal description. However, if the only lymph nodes you have ever felt are your own, then you logically would not have much experience to compare how they feel to other "normal" lymph nodes. Your HCP is trained to evaluate your lymph nodes and has the experience to determine how "normal" they appear. Nothing beats clinical experience, not even the Internet. : ))

2 year old daughter with swollen lymph node in groin area?

I am hoping a Dr, nurse, or someone with experience with this can tell me what this could possibly be. 2 and a half months ago I noticed a swollen lymph node and took her to her doctor. She ordered a ultrasound and they said it was a swollen lymph node. She took a round of antibiotics and it did not work. Two weeks later she had follow up with Dr. and she said she wanted her to go to see a surgeon. We saw the surgeon two weeks ago and he said it was not a hernia that he also agreed it was probably a swollen lymph node but it was very abnormal and he wants it removed so they can biopsy it. Surgery was supposed to be last Wednesday but due to her getting a chest cold it is postponed until Thursday the 4th. This is driving me crazy! It is hard, non-painful, and mobile. As the surgeon was moving it, it was also turning blue. It has worried me because he just kept saying how abnormal it is. Does this sound like cancer?

My lymph glands have been swollen for 3 days, but I'm not sick.?

Maybe you had an infection and your immune system suppressed it before any symptoms appeared, or you still have an infection but the symptoms haven't shown up yet. Lymph nodes expand and contract all the time like this and there's nothing to be concerned about unless they get larger than a dime or don't start shrinking after two weeks.

A hard, tiny bump the size of a pinhead is likely to a clogged pore (blackhead). They eventually fall out on their own.
