What is the McDonald's hiring process like?

You apply on the website (Find Restaurants and Job Openings), at the store you want. The application first goes to either McDonald's HR if it is a corporate store, or the owner if it is a franchise. The Owner/McDonald's HR runs a background check on you to look for Felonies, etc...If the owner/McDonald's HR generally likes the application, they send it to the the regional manager. The regional manager then looks at it and decides if they like the application as well. If they do, this is where corporate/franchise stores deviate. In a corporate store, the regional manager will call you and set up an interview. In a franchise store, the application is sent to the store manager. If the store manager feels the application fits their availability needs and other factors, they will call you and set up an interview. The interview process will then begin. You will sit down with the hiring manager for the store to talk to them. They will look at a variety of things about you (which I will not write down as it is proprietary) before deciding to hire you or not.If you are hired...In a corporate store, you will go through an OJE, or On the Job Evaluation. This is where they will watch you work and see how you learn, etc...In a franchise store, it depends. Some do OJE, some do not.If you succeed in your OJE (if it was done), you will go through a full interview. They will ask additional questions, and get a more thorough opinion. If you pass the final interview, you will be hired on at your agreed upon rate. If you do not pass the interview, you will get paid for your work done at the OJE, and you and McDonald's will part ways (at least as a job. McDonald's may still see you as a customer!)

McDonald's Hiring Process?

I had a job interview at McDonalds a few days ago. Today I went inside to get some food and I mentioned that I was there a few days ago and asked how things were going. A minute later, they said they were just about to call me and they asked me for my shirt and pants sizes and told me to come back on Monday at a specific time. If I remember correctly though, she said they were calling "people". Does this mean that I'm going to have to like compete with the other people there to see who can do the job the best and get hired? How does this 2nd interview work?

How competitive is the hiring process at McDonald's?

Not competitive at all in my experience. I have three stories to share in regards to this.I was looking for a job for the summer and literally applied everywhere. There wasn’t anywhere in a 30 minute walking distance I missed. This was a Monday and I walked into McDonalds. The manager on shift didn’t ask me to fill out an application. She just told me that the “hiring” manager wasn’t there at the time, but would be tomorrow (I learned later that the store manager is in charge of hiring and doesn’t work all the time. None of the other managers really have any power to hire). The next day I showed up and asked for her. I had an interview, got hired, and found out that the same day was orientation. I went through orientation and was working the next day.The questions she asked weren’t designed to weed people out. It didn’t even really feel like an interview. I basically just had to be able to lift 50 pounds and be able talk to people. That summer, one of my friends was looking for a job (he is also my third cousin, something that later got around the McDonalds pretty well). I told him that if he came in on a Monday, he could be working the next day. When he walked in, I told the manager that my friend would be a good worker and that he should be hired. The next day guess who walked in? That’s right my friend, in uniform.I quit a little bit into school because I couldn’t deal with the workload. About two months ago, I walked in again looking for a job (my sports season had ended). The store manager had changed, but I just had to tell her that I had worked previously and I was hired. Once again, I was working the next day.Last of all, you just have to work at McDonalds to realize how uncompetitive their hiring process is. We are always understaffed and always hiring. You know why? It’s because we can’t get enough people to stay and work. Our turnover is ridiculous. We can’t afford to be competitive since we don’t have enough people as it is.

What is the orientation process at McDonald's like?

I went for a job interview at McDonald’s. What I can tell anybody that reads this: every McDonald’s is different and some are even privately owned. For my McDonald’s orientation, I went to the McDonald’s at 10:00am, which by the way, was a different McDonalds from the one I would be working at. Everyone in the room would be working at a different McDonald’s as me. They traveled thirty minutes just to get to this specific McDonald’s. Anyways, I went in and we all sat at the tables in the back of the restaurant until a manager called us into the back, where the office is located. We had to pass through the kitchen where all the workers were running around, preparing food. We went into this small office where you could barely fit 10 chairs and we all sat there facing each other. We were handed a folder filled with a few booklets. One of the booklets we went through with the manager; it was about cleanliness, what to wear, what not to wear, rules and guidelines to follow while working there if you want to keep your job. Then the manager just talked for an hour about what to expect, what work is expected, etc. After that, we signed papers. By the way, dress decent and bring your social security card. After signing the papers, we watched a three hour video (it was also filled with a series of questions we had to answer together as a team). We did that and then that was it. The video was over and done with and we left through the kitchen. We were told to take the papers we signed a bring them back to the store we would be working at and the general manager of our store would tell us what’s next. Also…the manager actually checked to make sure we were wearing the right shoes. My advice to you wear sneakers or flats or else you could be sent home. She was literally going to send home anybody with sandles. We didn’t learn about anything in the kitchen. We weren’t introduced to anything in the kitchen. That’s how my orientation went. Hope this gives you an idea.

How long will it take for McDonalds to reply for my interview?

I went for a interview for McDonalds for a interview. So i want to know whether I was accepted to McDonalds or not. Just want to know how long will it take for this reply

How long does the hiring process usually take?

Don't ever count on an interview. Apply for both. I just did this two weeks ago, completed both interviews, and am now faced with 2 job offers and have to choose by Monday. That is a much better position to be in then not having any job offers.

Normally in office support it does not take too long to hire someone, unless its a very lackluster candidate pool. Most places will know within a week of their final interview. Asking if there is a time frame on when the final decision will be made is always a good idea at the end of your interview. Two weeks is usaully the maximum, but the larger the company the longer the decision process as well. Many times with busy executives they have a difficult time finding time to replace their Admin. Assisants and Office supporters due to the very fact that they are gone. If one is a government position then who knows how long you can be waiting, as there are lots of processes and forms and people to gather for interviews.

You can always accept something else later. Remember first and foremost - you work for your benefit.

Best of Luck and Happy Hunting.

What to say with a Crew Trainer interview at McDonald's?

Avoid focusing one what you think thy might want to hear. Instead focus on how you can improve the training process. Say things like "As an employee who has tenure and experience in the training program, I recognize from first hand experience, I found the program to be helpful and useful." or "the manner I was trained in customer appreciation and customer service were exceptionally helpful in dealing with difficult situations." Say things like, "While no program can be completely adequate in every aspect, I can only hope that my expertise and experience and detail orientation can help ensure new crew members a positive experience in their employment with McDonald's." With these thoughts in mind, make a list of what is great in the training, and what can use improvement. Focus on what you have to OFFER instead of what you've already accomplished.

What parts of the process of hiring a team are the most painful?

1st stage: Reading CVs & motivation letters. Related: people (possibly idiots) with no relevant experiences applying to a job "just because." 2nd stage: (not a pain, but requires work) interview alone doesn't really reveal enough about capabilities. Better to have them do work straight-away.3rd stage: (not a pain, but requires work) every employee should really write & present their own plan on how to add value to the firm.
