Most Comfortable Exercise Bike Seat

Exercise Bike for Short People?

I enjoy riding exercise bikes, and my roommate and I are planning to purchase one. I've noticed that I have problems being comfortable on recumbent exercise bikes-- I'm 5'1''.

Google searches have helped me find bikes that are NOT good for short people, but I can't find any that are particularly good for those of us who are vertically challenged.

Any recommendations on specific bikes?

Spine Bike seats can cause a lot of pain for many . human anatomy is effected as it applies to seats. It effects pelvic anatomy and there is also differences between men and women and how that relates to selecting a bike seat. And also there are dangers of compressing arteries and nerves and how poor seats selection or position on the bike can lead to comfort problems and serious medical issues.Looking to recommit to a fitness routine, but having trouble getting to the gym? Most of us has been struggling with the same issue. Stationary bike seat uncomfortable, any tips?

Go to a local bike shop, have yourself fitted for a test ride on a comfort bike (the most likely bike type with a riding position similar to the position of a stationary bike). Take a test ride, get an idea for how the seat feels, if it is more comfortable, it could be a number of factors... First, once fitted for a real bike, use the same type of fit adjustments for your stationary bike. That alone will help with SOME discomfort for most people. The other likely candidates are seat angle (ask how to adjust the seat angle while being fitted) which for females generally should be very slightly nose down, whereas for men it can be generally closer to level.
The last option is the saddle itself. Once you have done all these things and it still doesn't fix the problem, get the toolbox out, remove the seat from the seatpost (much easier than it sounds!) and take it into a bike shop, and explain your problem. This is a MUCH more common problem than you might think, and anyone at a good shop will have dealt with dozens, or even HUNDREDS of people with the same issue, so don't feel embarrassed about asking! Anyhow, explain to them what discomfort you feel, and generally where you feel it (center, sides, inside thigh, sit bones... ) and they can make some suggestions as to a worthwhile replacement. Gel pads as recommended above are a decent method of helping, but they generally start to break down or wander after extended use, requiring cleaning/moving/replacing fairly often. So a dedicated saddle better suited to your physical needs is a better idea.
The reason I recommend taking the seat in with you is that there may be a proprietary seatpost clamp on the seat itself, and if so, the shop will need to see it to be sure they can help you out!

I love riding my new exercise bike but it hurts. How can I remedy this issue?

You definitely need a good padded pair of shorts. They come with more padding for more hours of use. You also need a better supporting saddle that will not put pressure on the Perineum area, using instead the seat bones.

Because of the angle of the tube supporting the saddle, this is too far back from the pedal axle or spindle. This causes too much weight resting on the saddle and very little on the pedals. See if you can set the machine with that tube about 75 degrees or a bit more. Compare that angle with a real road bike.

And finally, you need to set the saddle height. Again, if the saddle is too low, more weight rests on it.

Which is better, a recumbent or an upright exercise bike?

If you want to get the benefit you have to use the Best Recumbent Exercise Bikes bike, not an upright bike at all. Here I will try to explain.**Upright bike vs recumbent bike **The recumbent bike and the upright bike are both exercise bike. But the main difference depends on the base of benefit and advantage.**Upright Bike ** These tow bike has won different body structure. The upright bike paddle to body position is straight. It has designed with the strict small seat. That is not enough for comfortable exercise.Since an upright bike designed with the small footprint, it placed in small space. And really good for home gym. Beyond I won’t suggest you can use an upright bike instead of recumbent bike.**Recumbent Bike ** A recumbent bike obviously better than an upright bike. First of all it is safe and sound health for your body fitness. The larger seat offers exerciser comfortable and long time exercise. You need not to stand up for paddling. What I use to add padding to bike seat?

"BTW: I'm a female and I don't have biking shorts."

Then get some - now! Either that or a woman's specific saddle (seat). Gel padded covers do NOT work. Here's why... Gel is a liquid, much like water. It will flow or take the path of least resistance when forced upon. That force being your 'sit bones'. Just as soon as you sit on it, most of that gel will flow AWAY from where support is needed & to areas of soft tissue & blood vessels causing more pain in the long run.

Padded cycling shorts or a good saddle provide support only where support is needed - the 'sit bones'. Ever tried a Serfas LX-2 NIVA saddle? Money back guarantee! Link below.

What's a good comfort/slim bicycle saddle?

I'm relatively new to serious bicycling, (mainly just using a bicycle as a means of exercise or recreation, like mountain biking)and I ride a Trek 3700 mountain bike I purchased last year, but was unable to ride during the winter and have now been riding the bicycle for a few months. I love my bike and only have one problem, which is the saddle, it is the stock Trek saddle and was fine for just little rides, now that I'm riding every night for about 1-2 hours, it's really starting to get more and more uncomfortable. So I'm thinking of upgrading to a more comfortable seat, but I don't want one of those old person 1 foot wide mega gel seats, I'm looking for a seat that is just wide enough that it looks almost like a stock seat, but is much more comfortable, because my problem is the bones in my buttocks hurt like crazy on my current saddle, so something wide enough so that my bones will be comfortable, as of right now my saddle fits just in between those bones and makes my rear hurt to the point that I have to stop riding. So I want a seat that is just wide enough, but isn't so bulky, and is somewhat thin, so it looks like a regular seat. So if you know of any nice seats like that, or anything similar, please let me know. Sorry for the long explanation. Thanks for your time!
