Mushrooms Or Dmt Which To Do

Do mushrooms and DMT have a similar experience?

I've tried mushrooms twice and each time I took half and eighth and each time was a similar experience: I really enjoyed the beginning, all the laughing and the trippy visuals, but once that wore off and it was just me and my thoughts, I stopped having fun. I'd love to try a hallucinogen, but I don't want the same kind of 'trapped in your head' kind of feeling I got from mushrooms after things stopped looking weird. Would trying DMT be a mistake?

DMT vs. LSD vs. Shrooms?

This is a question for the psychonauts. Can you pinpoint the differences between these 3 substances? From what I understand DMT is like dreaming while awake, LSD is more visual, and Shrooms are more spiritual.

Dmt, LSD, or shrooms?

LSD is very long lasting but probably the most mellow out of the three... Makes you think very deeply at lower doses, makes you not capable of thinking too much at higher doses.

Shrooms aren't very far off from LSD, but they last shorter and from my experience can be more of a "bipolar" type of trip. A lot of people, myself included, are afraid of them because of this. While they can provide amazing sensations that will make it so you can't possibly even frown, they can do just the opposite. LSD definitely can as well, especially at high doses, but it doesn't seem to happen as often.

I haven't tried DMT, but have heard a lot of things about it. My friend said when he closed his eyes he thought he was a lizard climbing up an Aztec pyramid towards a bright white light. It is definitely the most interesting out of the three from what I've heard, and makes you think you have learned the whole universe of knowledge.

Which is the best, mushrooms, LSD, or DMT?

This is a highly subjective answer, due to the extreme differences between the three substances. Yes, they are all psychedelics, but that's about all they have in common. Here are a few examples:Erowid LSD (Acid) Vault - (acid) is a long lasting (8–12h) trip. Depending on dosage, the trip can range from light & colorful to a full blown ego-death. Visuals (both open & closed eye) increase as the dosage goes up. LSD is commonly dosed in the microgram range. I find LSD to be an experience which I have more “control” over as opposed to mushrooms for example.Erowid DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) Vault is a short acting (10–15) roller coaster ride to another dimension, right in front of your eyes. DMT is a very powerful experience, but some do prefer it due to it's short duration. On average, 30 minutes after the DMT was smoked/vaped, the effects are almost completely worn off. See the erowid link above for more information on DMT!Erowid Psilocybin Mushroom (Magic Mushrooms) Vault are typically consumed in the gram range, with 3.5g being the average dose taken to produce the desired effects. A mushroom trip lasts about 6 hours. The effects are almost completely gone after 8 hours, accompanied by an afterglow on occasion. Mushrooms provide a very introspective trip. You almost feel as if you are completely immersed in self, but on a different mental plane visually. I find mushrooms to be a bit more sedating than LSD, and it is harder to ‘control’ the direction of a shroom trip mentally. As higher doses are consumed (ex. 5–7g), the trip can be extremely disorienting, and you sometimes run the risk of having a “bad trip.”As a said, the effects that one feels from each of these substances, is highly subjective. I included links for further reading.

What is the difference between Shrooms, LSD, and DMT?

I recommend reading http://erowid.org/ in-depth for each one.  There is a vast variety of experiences for each one and make sure you read the 'difficult' experiences also. You should also make sure you understand Set (you, your mental state, what you bring to the table) and Setting (the environment in which you have your experience). You want a knowledgable 'Sober Sitter' whom you can trust and who will not try to mess with you, they should know what to do if you are vomiting, freaking out, catatonic, and everything in between. As far as the experiences I can only share my very limited data.LSD is very visual and extremely long lasting (to the point that it was physically and emotionally draining). It can have a 'speed'-like effect which makes your mind race. It felt very clinical and analytic. No nausea but I did try to make myself throw up hoping it would end it sooner (I couldn't and it wouldn't have helped anyway). The walls breathed, silverware wriggled up and ran down the drain, there was both the visual and felt presense of the 'mandala', the world is a fractal and reverberates with every thought and you'll feel like you have them all, every thought possible. *I* remained intact mentally, it's not like being drunk at all, no disordered thoughts or spinning world. There were periods of timelessness, 'dying', breaking into pieces and coming back together. The effects of Mushrooms don't last as long as LSD. It had a very organic, wriggly, winding feel - to the point that it wriggled up out of my stomach and I puked for what felt like hours. Time kept repeating, echoing, reflecting… my being was unwinding and entwining with my partner (who later said I was being annoying about it :) Expect intestinal disruptions. I couldn't stop moving, writhing. It was more gentle than LSD, and shorter. I wept towards the end in an emotional, cathartic release. But overall I didn't have a great experience (but it's only been the one time and other people do, you can't really judge by a single point of view).I've never tried DMT but generally, if you intended to smoke the freebase form, then the effects will be very rapid and equally short-lived (5-10 minutes) but extremely intense.I've also never tried cacti (mescaline), but I understand it is similar to mushrooms.

Why are substances such as magic mushrooms and DMT illegal?

“Psychedelics are illegal not because a loving government is concerned that you may jump out of a third story window. Psychedelics are illegal because they dissolve opinion structures and culturally laid down models of behaviour and information processing. They open you up to the possibility that everything you know is wrong.”-Terence McKenna.

For those who have consumed mushrooms and/or dimethyltryptamine, do you believe that it is possible that the 'forbidden fruit' was indeed, 'magic' mushrooms or ayahuasca?

Unlikely. Psylocibin mushrooms are most commonly found in temperate rainforests and are therefore scarce in the Middle East. It's unlikely the authors of the Bible would be familiar with them. The story of the fruit (the source of knowledge of good and evil) is better understood as metaphor.

What happens if you get caught with acid/DMT/shrooms/etc. in Canada?

Prosecution is done on a case-by-case basis, so there is no 'real' answer to every scenario.

Weed and mushrooms are pretty common, so a small amount wouldn't land you in much trouble all on its own. I've actually seen cops ignore one joint before, because it's not worth the paperwork and hassle. But if that same person decides to play tough-guy when talking to the cops, it's suddenly worth the paperwork.

Large amounts of weed and shrooms, however, is a whole different ball game. Anything worthy of dealing is going to result in an arrest, and definitely some prison time if convicted. Even if it's just personal possession, ounces and kilos get more attention than grams and little joints.

As for the chemical stuff, that's zero tolerance all the way. DMT, LSD, crack, meth, junk and prescription stuff are a lot more dangerous than weed and are dealt with more severely. Those are where the three years just for possession come into play, more than that if it's a case of trafficking.

NOTE: Border crossings are totally different. If someone is caught smuggling any of the above into Canada, it's handcuff time. Even legal (or mostly legal) stuff isn't allowed to be smuggled across the border, and illegal stuff is right out of the question. Border officials are dead serious about that, and prosecution will seek the maximum penalty for anyone caught with stuff at the border.

Do you get DMT-ish/mushroom-like experience with Bhava Spandana? Do you actually experience visuals?

I'm not sure what Bhava Spandana is supposed to be as far as technique goes. But I have definitely activated my Pineal Gland to the extent of getting it to drip DMT consistently, its more than possible. Easier way is you do mushrooms after already understanding how to work with your chakras and then meditate for hours until your pineal gland feels like it's trying to launch out of your head. You'd be able to smell the DMT when it starts to drip, the trip will completely change. It's like your perception is standing on a tiny wooden bridge over a 2,000 feet deep canyon.I wrote an answer outlining my sober experience with such a process. Believe it or don't, it's up to you.I don't recommend doing this if you are not very experienced and ready. I did DMT and psychedelics many times and consistently meditated for a year before I started doing these deeper meditations in sober states.Link: Dylan Henry's answer to What was your strangest nondual moment?
