My Bunny Had Surprise Babies

Just got baby bunny..HELP?

an eggcup full of pellets a day is enough commercial food, you should also feed a small amount of green veg or herbs (introduce any new food slowly) and the rabbit should have unlimited access to hay, eating a pile roughly the same size as itself every day.

The rabbit should have 24 hour access to it's run so it can exercise and play as it likes. rabbits in general will let you know when they're had enough people time by hopping off!

I would clean the litter tray every day or every other day as it will attract insects and can lead to flystrike. The whole cage should be cleaned as it needs it or once a week.

Rabbits can bond with any number of humans or rabbits. You sister should try washing her hands then rubbing them in the bunnies poo before handling it so that she smells familiar, it's possible her smell just scared the rabbit.

I would suggest you join the rabbit forum I'm a member of - www.rabbitrehome.org.uk
It's really great for sharing bunny knowledge and just having a chat, you'll find loads of help there!

What was the most pleasant surprise your aunt planned for you?

When I was 13 I went to live with aunt and uncle on their farm while my mom “sorted out” her drinking problem. It may sound bad but honestly it was the best year in my childhood. I was treated like their child and I felt loved. One of the things I did was help them take care of the animals. I would muck out stalls, feed the animals, collect eggs and bottle feed the orphan cow calf. I loved it!Well that year for Christmas was amazing. I went out with my uncle and helped pick out a live tree from a tree farm. It was a big deal for me because it was the first time I ever did it.Well Christmas Eve came and I was dubbed “Santa”. It was so much fun passing out the gifts to them, their daughters, and their daughters boyfriends.I thought my big gift that year was a collection of the first four harry potter books. I loved to read and escape my world and I hadnt heard or read harry potter yet. I was ecstatic. It was the best Christmas I had ever had. After we were done everyone was talking and laughing and nibbling snacks. I was happy and content. Then all of a sudden my aunt told me to sit in a chair and close my eyes. I had no idea what was going on but I heard her leave the room. She came back and set something on my feet and told me to open my eyes. There was a box at my feet. I was confused. Did she expect me to fit in that box? I would never fit! I was too big. Was this a new punishment? She told me to open it. I decided to rip off the band aid as fast as possible. To be honest I thought it might be horse shit from outside. (My mother was a sick person). Inside was a bunny rabbit! A real live bunny!I gasped and didnt move. I just stared at it. My aunt told me it was all mine. I had been such a good help with the animals I deserved one of my own.I picked up the bunny and started crying. I loved him. He nuzzled my ear and I was hooked. He was the sweetest thing in the entire world.Best. Christmas. Ever.

Crippled baby bunnies?

recently i have been trying to breed my rabbits. I currently own 2 mini rex bucks and 4 mini rex does. About 2 weeks ago my doe had her first litter. i was very excited even though she had only 3 babies. however, today i went to check up on the babies to see if they are ok when i noticed something strange. one baby was up and about while the other too only crawled using their hands :( their feet were not moving and their bottom was dirty as well. the one moving had a clean bottom unlike the other 2. does this mean they are crippled? and if they are crippled what do i do?

Why is one of the baby bunnies way smaller than the other ones?

Jill had her first litter 3 days ago.. of five baby bunnies! The babies will officially be 3 days old around 3 pm EST today..

Four of them look very healthy, but one of them is literally 2 1/2 inches long, looks very skinny and the skin is a little saggy and I can see the little spine =( HOWEVER, there are no other signs that it might be sick because it is moving around fine just like the rest. One of the four is bigger than most of them.. he's chubby compared to his other brothers and sisters! I'm guessing that he's possibly hogging the mom's feed from the little one? I really want to do the possible to make sure these babies will develop and survive! I have yet to see the mother feed them, but it's quite obvious that she is due to the chubster lol! Can I get her to feed just the smallest one.. or what can I do!? I have fallen in love with the little munchkin =[ Soo cute and special because he will be one of the two that will have black spots on their fur when they gets older.

How long until baby bunnies start to grow their fur etc.........URGENT (We just found a litter of bunnies) =O?

How long until baby bunnies start to grow their fur?
How many bunnies in a single litter for the domesticated all around bunny?
When will we be able to hold the baby bunnies?
Is there any special care that we need to give them?
Will they 'wean' off of their mothers milk by themselves?
What should their diet consist of?
Will the male rabbit hurt the babies (and under what circumstances might he hurt them under)?
How long until they can be put up for adoption?
Are ginger bunnies always males?

- Please help as we just found out that our two bunnies have had their first litter an dwe had no idea!!
Thank-you!

Should I have my child believe in Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, etc.?

Why not, instead of indoctrination (you telling them what to believe and what not to believe) let them believe what they want to believe. It encourages imagination which you might find far more important later on in life than whether they do or don’t believe in elves at the end of their garden when they are 5.You might find with them growing up and being allowed to challenge weird belief systems on their own, learning truth from fiction on their own by rational thought, gives them an inner strength that makes them less malleable or open to external ‘irrational’ belief systems as they get older. This approach should be a win win shouldn’t it?With my four I have always insisted that they believe what they want to believe. They ask me what I think ‘of god’, I asked them ‘what one do you mean?, ‘do you believe in god?, which one do you believe in?, why do you believe in that and not this? Challenge their views, allow them to develop their own opinions and ensure they feel free to speak their mind. I would be stunned if they don’t surprise you with their views and rational every day.The day my children each stopped believing in the tooth was the day the tooth fairy stopped turning up. Some of the wildest imaginations have created the finest works of fiction in print today. I’d suggest Imagination should be encouraged.
