Car has loud noise when i start up car in morning?

Every morning when I start up the car, or when my car is cooled down and cold, the engine would always be loud. My car does not have the RPM Gage, but it sounds like the car is on 2,000-2,500 rpm. There is no noise like grinding, screeching, click, clunk, etc. The engine is just loud. Anyone know what i wrong?

My car makes loud rumbling noises when I start it up?

Okay so I have a 2004 Cavalier and it has never done this before. I started my car up this morning to go to work and it made this loud rumbling noise. I started to smell fumes as well. It sounded like a loud go cart or something? I recently just got a signature oil change from Jiffy Lube maybe 4 or 5 days ago. If that may have anything to do with this. Please help me!!

Loud Knocking noise when i start my car?

When i start my car after it has not been running for a while (maybe 6-15 hours) it makes a really loud noise like something is caught in the engine or I just ran over a huge rock.It only happens as soon as i turn the key in the ignition to start it then it goes away and does not happen again until it has been sitting for a few hours Does anyone know what this could be or is something really wrong with my car?
and I have a 2004 pontiac sunfire with 87,000 and some odd miles

My car makes a very loud screeching/squealing noise when I start it up and then it goes away.?

I've taken it to a mechanic but he can't figure out what the problem is without hearing the noise. It has been making this noise for awhile but it just got way worse. This morning my service engine light came on and I'm getting really worried! My brakes are fine and everything looks intact under the hood. I am completely stumped :( The belt has some sort of black stuff on it, maybe someone before me put some belt conditioner on it.. could that be what makes it squeak? I am going to have the belt replaced anyway, just not sure if there is another problem.

When I start my car it makes a screeching noise and wont start?

its a 2000 Mercury Cougar. Its been a good car and ive had no problems with it at all! Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with it? I dont think its because i have no gas but i know i was pretty low last time i drove but ive drove it when it was alot lower! What does it sound like when you start it and there is no gas? I tried jumping it and got nothing. -.-

Why is my car making noise when I start it and the noise goes away after a few minutes?

There are many reasons for noise immediately upon starting and shortly after:Valve train noise, it takes a while for the lifters to “pump up” and provide the damping.Timing Chain rattle, same thing for timing chain adjuster.Misadjusted belts.Oil related usually associated with too infrequent oil and filter changes or improper oil used. Some pollution control devices are noisy until temperature is right.Normal for some cars.Lots of worn parts in engine. All of the above.Really impossible to diagnose without seeing and hearing the issue.

My car makes a loud screeching noise when I drive with the air conditioner on. Is it safe to drive if I keep it turned off?

It is always very difficult to make an in-depth failure diagnosis based on vague observations. But one possible reason for the screeching noise could be a worn out or too loosely tensioned transmission belt between your engine and the compressor of your A/C. As soon as the A/C is switched off, the belt runs smoothly, because it does not have to transmit much power. As soon as the A/C is switched on, it requires power, and the belt begins to slip - and makes noises. If the screeching sound stops as soon as you switch off the A/C, then there is probably no risk about damaging other parts of the car by just driving it.However, having the belt checked and - if necessary - replaced may be the better alternative. If the belt is okay, the problem mey be the compressor itself, which requires more money to fix it.As I do not know your car in particular, there may be another problem: Your A/C may require a lot of electric energy to run. This energy is generated from the alternator, this alternator is driven by a belt. Same problem. If this belt is worn out or not tensioned properly, then it screeches - you may know that sound from winter times, may cars utter loud screeching sounds. However: The alternator is not only required to deliver electricity for your A/C, it provides electricity for your whole car. If the belt for the alternator tears apart, your battery may be able to maintain normal operation for a while, but then you are stranded with a dead car.My suggestion: Have all your visible belts in the car engine checked and replaced if necessary. This is not too expensive and may save you lots of trouble. The timing belt of your engine (some cars have timing chains instead) is not visible. Nevertheless it requires replacement after some time (see users manual for more details). You should not exceed the suggested replacement interval too much, because a torn timing belt may destroy your engine in a second.

Car makes loud very rattling noise when I turn on heat or ac. What could it be?

Car is a 2003 Nissan Maxima.

First noticed when it got really cold outside and I tried to warm the car up b4 driving. Turned on the heat and it started rattling really loud. Sound is coming from the passenger side dashboard/glove compartment area.

Sometimes I can turn the heat/ac on with no noise problem but after I turn a corner, the loud rattling noise will start again.
