My Cell Phone Is Over Heating After I Unplugged It From The Charger. Is That Normal

Is leaving your phone charger plugged in a fire hazard?

No, there is no fire hazard, especially if your charger has UL symbol engraved. UL symbol means that charger passed all required stress, and functional tests. But, it would be useful to unplug all unused chargers (and other el. equipment) that are not in use. Why? When in idle mode all those small devices using small amount of electrical energy which will add up to your electrical bill in the end of the month.

Is it normal for my phone to get really hot when charging?

Its definitely not normal. There must be a problem with the USB cable if you are using the stock charger, otherwise the charger must be faulty. If you are using a charger made for any other device please stop using as it may damage your phone. If you are using a turbo charger from any company(Qualcomm or OPPO or whatever), please do not use those on your non supported phones.Okay. the hardware circuitry is very easy to understand. If your charger is providing more current than assigned then the current control circuit will limit the current to the assigned or lower and will dissipate the extra current as heat. This results in heating. The other reason can be if your charger’s USB cable is faulty and there is port head mismatch between the heads of the USB cable and Charger or USB cable and Phone.

MacBook Pro charger getting really hot - help?

The charger does tend to be quite warm, but that sounds like the charger has a messed up connection inside it, take it back to an Apple store. If it was your MBP, the computer itself would be hot.

Charger is getting pretty hot. Making my phone hot?

I have an iPhone 4. I got it two months ago so it's still pretty new.

Anyways... My phone was getting hot so I felt the wall plug in part and it seemed warm so I unplugged the USB part to feel it and when I felt it, it burned just a little cuz of how hot it was.

I need to charge my phone as I have a busy day tomorrow and I need to keep it near me since I have alarms set to wake up.

Will it be okay plugged in if its that warm or what should I do? Charge it til 100% take it off til morning then charge it in another outlet while I get ready or what?

Is it safe for the charger to get hot while charging a cell phone?

Not hot, no. It will get warm and maybe quite warm but if you touch it and you are surprised by how warm it is, unplug it and let it cool down.If it's hot enough that you don't want to touch it even if it's not painful, unplug it immediately. Take it and your phone somewhere that can advise you about it.An even bigger problem is if the battery in the phone gets seriously hot. Lithium ion batteries can start on fire or explode given certain conditions. They have been made very safe from these situations but don't take chances. I don't mean just very warm but uncomfortably hot.

Do cell phone battery chargers use power when not charging batteries?

They do not actually use any power, since there is nothing plugged into the other end to consume the electricity. There is no flow of power from the plug to the end of the terminal that connects to your phone while it's not connected. But....there is electricity flowing through the box part of the charger and that causes heat. This may be what's raised your question as to whether or not it's using electricity. But if you're really worried about it, I'm sure there are many more items/appliances in your home that use some degree of electricity even while idle.

Can my phone be left in the charger for 3 days without overheating?

Yes, you could. The battery contains a charge control circuit which will turn the battery off once it reaches 100% charge. If your phone is off,the only energy used will be the energy used by the charger circuitry. The amount of this energy is minute. It will not even make the charger slightly worm. If you will leave your phone on, the amount of energy will be slightly higher, but still small enough as to not make your charger worm to the touch.

PHONE OVERHEATING!!!?

I just got a Galaxy S 4G 4 days ago and all of a sudden, after playing some apps a couple hours at a time throughout today, it felt warm, but not hot. Also, it froze twice while playing Angry Birds, and had to hold the power button until it turned off, and turned it on again. Then, while charging, the phone blinked one of those attention signs with a thermometer next to it. I got scared so I got a bag of ice and placed it under my phone (the ice was in a bag). (the freezing, heating up, thermometer, playing a couple of hours all happened today)
would this be overheating?
it his bad for the phone?
should I use my warrenty and get a new one?
PLEASE HELP AND BE DESCRIPTIVE!!!
THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!

My phone charger started burning!?

Tonight I was plugging my phone charger into my computer. When I plugged it into my phone, it wasn't working very well. I turned my phone on and off several times, and also plugged in and unplugged my charger. The phone and charger were getting very hot - I burned my thumb removing the cord. The part of my phone where the charger was was smoking, the tip of the charger is melted slightly and it smells horrible in my room from the burning plastics and metal. Obviously I took out the battery and told my parents. My phone is an LG Optimus S. Does anyone know what happened to my phone, or how to fix it?!
