My Daughter Is 13 And Wants A Job

My daughter is 18 and wants to move out? How do I show her it's a bad idea?

My daughter and her boyfriend have been together since she was 13. For the past 2 years all she talks about is moving out with him. He is now 20 with a stable job working for his family and she started college this year. They're waiting to find a place. I don't think she's ready I think she's upset because she has to live with the rules in our house and she's making a decision based off that. She shares a room with her 10 year old sister and she's always been upset about that but most kids share rooms and deal with it just fine. We're not strict, her sister has to be in bed by 8 but we don't make her go to bed but if she stays in the room she has to, she complains she has homework and it's too loud downstairs so she has to do it upstairs and that isn't true. She has to be home by 9:30 and I think that's a reasonable time but she always wants to stay out later even though when she turned 18 we extended it from 9 to 9:30 already. She isn't allowed at her boyfriends house and we don't allow them to go on dates alone and when he comes to the house they need to be in the living room or her little sister has to be in the bedroom. We were much more lenient on her older brother and he's 20 about to be a dad for the second time with another girl he doesn't even know. Considering that I don't think I'm overprotective even though she feels I am. I know I can't stop her from moving out but I need her to know its a mistake.

My daughter wants to become a stripper?

Your story is obviously fake. You are either trying to rile people or you have a very unhealthy fantasy about your daughter and need to seek professional help. In the case that this is a real child and not some product of your own imagination, expect her to hate you when she is an adult. Not because of pole dancing lessons, but because you have abjectly failed as a man and as a parent by sexualizing your own offspring in your mind. I sincerely hope you are not actually a parent.

Regarding stripping, let me say this. Having worked as a stripper for 11 years starting at the age of 24, then getting a B.A. at 35 and getting out of the business, I have a very realistic understanding of what being a stripper entails. If a young woman who is 18+ (the legal age to strip) works in a large city in a nice club (one that doesn't expect her to go into some horrible private booth with the customers), she can possibly come out relatively unscathed if she stays away from drugs and saves her money for school or another worthwhile pursuit. If, however, she works in small towns or seedy joints (where the women are not respected and are often pawed at by scumbags...erm, customers), then she can expect to become psychologically ravaged and in desperate need of therapy. Or worse.

Stripping is not easy money. It's fast money. There's a massive, massive difference between these two things. On the outside chance that you actually have a daughter whom you are encouraging to strip for a living (which I don't actually believe because your story doesn't ring true...I now work in social services and anyone *actually* on welfare would NEVER say something like "me and my wife are in no hurry to get back into the workplace), then you are not a man. But then, if you are simply making this up because you're a sick person, then you're also not a man.

My 13 year old daughter wants a job?

I don't think there will be many people willing to take on a 13 year old, just because of the risks that could be and I don't think she would be allowed to work many hours if she got a proper job. Think about the reasons she wants a job... Is it for money? If so, she could probably get some kind of cleaning/dog walking jobs for neighbours or people you know for a small amount of money.
You could also suggest volunteering, because even though she wouldn't be paid, it is a good way of getting experience so that would make it more likely that she could get a job when she is old enough :)
